Y/N's P.O.V

Right now we're talking about a plan to break out Kai and the other Airbender's.

As we do this Lin shows up and tells that Zaheer and two of his allies have escaped prison.

Zaheer is now an Airbender.

He got Airbending because of Harmonic Convergence like others have.

Nine years ago Zaheer and his allies tried to kidnap Korra, but they were stopped by myself, dad, Tonraq and Chief Sokka.

Korra: Wait, Y/N was there?

Y/N: I was.

Tenzin: He wasn't supposed to be. He snuck onto to the mission.

Y/N: Yeah. Well, ten year old me didn't like following orders either. And I was helpful.

Dad nods.

Tenzin: Yeah, you were.

Mako: So, why were they trying to kidnap Korra, anyway?

Lin: We spent nine years interrogating them, but they never broke. To this day no-one knows what their motive was.

Beifong steps forward.

Lin: We need to get you back to Republic City, where I can protect you.

Korra: No, I'm not running.

Lin: Korra, you don't understand. These criminals are like nothing you've ever faced before.

Korra: Look, I'm not a little kid anymore. You don't need to protect me. I came here for one thing, to find Airbender's and I'm not leaving without them.

Lin: Fine. Let's get 'em and get outta here. Where are they?

Y/N: In a military compound and we're busting them out.

It's time to plan a prison break.

(Three hours later)

It's now night and we're outside the compound the Airbender's are being held in.

After stealthy taking down the guards outside we make our way in.

We hide in a stairwell to avoid two guards walking past.

Tenzin: Bumi, Korra, Mako, you will come with me to find the Airbender's.

Y/N: While you guys are doing that, Jinora, Bolin and I will find Kai.

Tenzin: Yes. We'll meet on the surface shortly.

Y/N: Okay. Just be careful.

Tenzin: You too. Radio us if something goes wrong.

I nod.

After that Bolin, Jinora and I go to find Kai.

(Five minutes later)

We make it to the cells. Kai is in one of them.

Jinora stops at one of them.

Y/N: Is he in there?

Jinora: Yes. This is the one.

I open the cell and we see Kai sitting on a bench.

Y/N: Kai, you're okay. We're getting you out.

Jinora: Kai!

She runs in and hugs him, then kisses him on the cheek.

Bolin: Whoa. Your dad's not gonna be happy about this.

Y/N: Then don't tell him.

Kai comes over and hugs me.

Kai: I'm sorry, Y/N. I'm so sorry I snuck off. I won't do it again. Thanks for coming back for me.

I hug him back.

Y/N: Yeah... it's okay, kid. Just don't worry me like that again.

We pull away.

Y/N: Come on. Let's go.

We leave and turn the corner to see guards in our way.

Guard: Deserting her majesty's army is high treason, punishable by death.

They shoot rocks at us with Earthbending.

Bolin and I dodge their attack and fire back with Airbending/Earthbending.

We work together and manage to take down two guards.

The third gets back up and gets ahold of Jinora.

Y/N: Jinora!

Just then Kai rushes in and hits him with Airbending.

He gets knocked to the ground.

I look at Kai.

Y/N: Nice job. Great form.

Kai: Thanks. I had a good teacher.

I smile.

After that we head back up to the surface to catch up with the other's.

We make it outside to see the others are escaping.

I pull out my whistle to call Lucky.

Y/N: Lucky! Come on, boy!

Just then we see him fly down towards us.

Kai, Jinora, Bolin and I all manage to get on Lucky and fly up to join the others.

We got away clean and saved the Airbender's.

(The next day)

It's now the early morning and we've gather the Airbender's together.

Dad, Korra and I stand infront of them all.

Tenzin: Now, I know none of you chose to become Airbender's, but now you do have a choice. We can relocate you somewhere safe, or you can come with me to the Northern Air Temple to live in peace and train as Air Nomad's.

Y/N: You're no longer anyone's property. What path you decide is up to you.

One by one the Airbender's decide to go with dad.

So Tenzin will take Asami's airship to the Northern Air Temple, while we take the RCPD airship to continue looking for Airbender's.

I'm with dad now.

Tenzin: Are you sure you don't want to come with us? I could use some help training this new Airbender's.

Y/N: I would, but with these criminals after Korra, I'd rather stick close to her.

He smiles.

Tenzin: I understand. As long as you watch each other's backs, you'll both be okay.

Y/N: And I'll be taking Kai with me. After what happened I want to keep him close.

Tenzin: I know that feeling all too well. Like him, you were a handful too. You still are, in fact.

I chuckle.

Y/N: True.

I look back and see Kai walk onto the airship with Korra.

I look to dad.

Y/N: What am I gonna do with that kid, dad?

Tenzin: You'll be okay, son. Just teach him everything I taught you and he'll turn out just fine.

Y/N: Was I to quick to take Kai as my Apprentice? I mean I wasn't looking out for him and he got captured. It just makes me wonder if I'm ready to be a teacher.

He puts his hand on my shoulder.

Tenzin: You are ready, Y/N. You're gonna to make a great teacher. I know it. I'm so... 

Y/N: Please don't say you're proud of me.

Tenzin: Me? I'd never say that.

He and I laugh.

Tenzin: But I am proud of you.

I smile.

Y/N: Thank you, dad.

He and I hug.

Tenzin: Good luck, Y/N. And be careful.

Y/N: I will. Good luck training those Airbender's.

Tenzin: Thank you.

We pull away and go to our respective airships.

Time to go and find more Airbender's.
