Chapter 32: Eastern Air Temple
(The next day)
(Eastern Air Temple)
Y/N's P.O.V
I've have just made it to the Eastern Air Temple, but something weird is going on.
More so than before I've been seeing spirits out here in the real world.
I don't know why that is though.
Lucky lands down at the temple and I get off him along with Wolf.
I walk towards the garden and see dad and the other's.
Y/N: Dad.
They all look over at us.
Tenzin: Y/N? You're here. It's good to see you.
Y/N: You too.
Jinora, Ikki & Meelo: Y/N!
The kids come over and hug me.
Y/N: Hey, guys.
Bumi: What are doing here, kiddo?
Tenzin: We thought you were at the South Pole fighting with Tonraq and the rebels.
Y/N: You guys know about the civil war?
Tenzin: Yes, Korra told us.
Y/N: Wait, Korra's here?
Korra: I am.
I look over and see Korra come over.
Y/N: Korra.
She comes over to me and we hug.
Korra: You're okay.
Y/N: Yeah, I'm fine.
We pull away.
Korra: I thought you were with my father and the rebels.
Y/N: I was, but I needed to come here.
I look to dad.
Y/N: We have somethings we need to talk about.
Korra: You're right about that.
(Fifteen minutes later)
Korra, dad and I are talking alone.
Korra told us about what she went through after leaving Republic City.
I then have been tell them about what I learned about myself.
They are definitely shocked by it.
Tenzin: Wait, my father created you?
Korra: Using spirit energy?
I sigh.
Y/N: That's right. I have to know, dad. Did you know the truth about me?
He looks at me.
Tenzin: No, I didn't. I promise. My father clearly didn't want anyone to know.
I nod.
Y/N: Okay.
Tenzin looks to Korra.
Tenzin: So, Avatar Wan imprisoned this Dark Spirit Vaatu in the Spirit World?
Korra: Yes and now I think my uncle is trying to free him.
Tenzin: I knew Unalaq was hungry for power, but never realised how far he'd go to get it.
Korra: This is all my fault.
Y/N: Korra, don't blame yourself. You're starting to sound like me.
Tenzin: Y/N's right. This is Unalaq's doing. Now, we must focus on setting things right before he can do anymore damage.
Korra: Thank you both.
Tenzin: So, you need to close the Southern portal.
Y/N: But if Unalaq's army controls the South, how are gonna get to it?
Korra: I think my best chance to close the portal is from the inside. I have to enter the Spirit World.
Tenzin: A journey to the Spirit World. All my years of spiritual training have prepared me for this moment.
He stands up.
Tenzin: I will help you.
Y/N: Me too.
Tenzin: Today we enter the Spirit World.
I look around and see a few new spirits flying around.
Korra: Y/N? Y/N?
I look at her.
Y/N: Yeah?
Korra: Are you okay?
Y/N: Uh, yeah, yeah. Just thought I saw something.
Korra: I'm glad you're here. I missed you.
She goes to grab my hand, but I pull away.
Y/N: Yeah, I missed you too.
I walk away.
Honestly, I don't know how she can love me now. I mean I'm not technically a real person.
At least that's how it feels right now.
(Thirty minutes later)
We're now in the forest with Jinora, Ikki, Meelo, aunt Kya and uncle Bumi.
Dad, Korra and I are gonna go into the Spirit World.
The three of us sit and mediate.
After a few minutes I don't feel anything.
Korra: Are either of you in the Spirit World yet?
Tenzin: I would be if Meelo could ring his bell at the appropriate intervals.
Meelo: Aw, did I do it wrong?
Tenzin stands up.
Tenzin: Let's try something else.
He walks away.
Korra and I stand up.
She looks at Meelo.
Korra: I thought your bell ringing was just fine.
Meelo: Thanks!
We all leave and follow dad.
(One hour later)
It's been an hour now and we've got to some many places to try and get into the Spirit World, but none have worked.
And now we know that dad can't get into the Spirit World and never has been able to.
Korra: You've never been into the Spirit World?
Pema: But you used to spend days in the temple meditating.
Tenzin: Trying to get in. It never happened. It's my greatest shortcoming ad an Airebender, Spiritual Leader and son of Aang.
Uncle Bumi laughs.
Bumi: Welcome to the "I disappoint dad" club.
Kya: If you've never been to the Spirit World, how'd you plan on getting Korra into it?
Tenzin: I've spent years studying the techniques and theories of ancient spiritual leaders. Now that the Avatar needs me, it must be my time.
Korra: Tenzin, Harmonic Convergence is almost here. If Vaatu escapes from the Spirit World...
Tenzin: You have to trust me. I can help you.
Kya: There might be another way.
We look over to her.
Kya: Jinora, is there something you want to tell Korra?
Tenzin: Jinora? She's too young and untrained to have any knowledge about spiritual matters.
Jinora: Actually, I think I do know where Korra needs to go to get into the Spirit World.
Y/N: How, Jinora?
Jinora: My spirit friends showed me. I know Y/N's been seeing them too.
I nod.
Y/N: I have.
Jinora: It's okay you can show yourself.
The Dragonfly-Bunny spirits appear infront of us.
Tenzin: How did you do that?
Pema: Jinora.
Meelo: Bunnies!
Jinora: They're actually Dragonfly-Bunny spirits.
Kya: I knew it. Looks like she does know something about spiritual matters.
Korra: Y/N, you've been seeing them too?
Y/N: Yeah. I've been seeing spirits ever since you opened the Southern Spirit Portal.
Jinora: Well, given how you came to be, you must have given you a strong connection to the spirits, allowing you to see them.
Y/N: Guess so.
They all fly outside.
We all follow them and see them fly down.
Jinora: I think they want you to go down there.
Tenzin: I don't know. The spiritual energy is historically strongest near the temple.
Y/N: I'm guessing the spirits have actually been to the Spirit World, so I think we should follow them.
Korra: Me too.
Bumi: If we need to go to the Tenzin World, we'll call you.
Y/N: Okay, let's follow 'em.
We leave to go and follow the spirits.
Time to take a trip to the Spirit World.
