Chapter 2 11th Birthday
Lindsay's POV
I was having a lovely dream when somebody decided it was a good idea to be bouncing on my bed.
"Wake up Lindsay," I heard my little sister yell.
I groaned and pulled my blanket over my head. Ginny was always over excited when it came to days like today.
"Get up Lindsay," I hear Ginny yell.
"Ginny go back to bed," I mumbled.
"But it's your birthday," she said excitedly.
"Let me sleep," I mumbled.
Ginny huffed and got on her hands and knees so she was above me.
"You're no fun," she said.
That's when I sprang and started tickling her. She was trying to block my attacks but failed as I continued to tickle her.
"What did you say you little monkey? Did you just say I'm no fun," I asked as I continued to tickle her.
"N-No.... Hahaha.... P-pl-ease st-stop... hahhaha," Ginny said through laughs.
I stopped and smiled at her.
"Come on Mum probably has breakfast ready," I said.
I walked downstairs with Ginny.
"Morning Mum," I said once Ginny and I were downstairs.
"Morning dears. Happy Birthday Lindsay," Mum said kissing me on the head.
"Thanks Mum," I said before sitting at the table with Ginny.
Next came Dad and Percy. Percy isn't my favorite brother but he can be fun if he loosens up a bit. He's my favorite brother if I want a fantasy story read to me or if I have a question about something.
"Good morning Molly, Ginny, and Lindsay," Dad said before sitting.
"Morning Arthur," Mum said.
"Morning Daddy," Ginny and I said.
"Dad you forgot something," Ginny said giggling.
"Did I now? What did I forget," Dad asked pretending he had forgotten.
"Morning Mum, Dad, and little sisters," Percy said.
"Morning Percy," all four of us said.
"Happy Birthday Chronicle," Percy said ruffling my hair.
"Out of all my nicknames that has to be my least favorite," I said trying to fix my hair.
Percy chuckled as he sat down. I was the only one who could get him to laugh.
"I gave it to you because you're an amazing story teller," Percy said.
"It's true Canary," Ginny said.
I sighed. I wasn't a big fan of Canary either but it was the first song bird Ginny could think of when she gave me my nickname.
"That's right it's someone's birthday today. Happy Birthday princess," Dad said.
"Thanks Dad," I said.
Next to come down is Fred and George.
"Morning everyone," Fred and George said.
"Morning Fred and George," we all said.
"Happy Birthday Rosie," Fred and George said while ruffling my hair.
"Thanks you two but what is with everyone and my hair," I said laughing and trying to fix my hair while Fred and George sat down.
Then finally came a yawning Ronnikins.
"Morning," Ron said.
"Morning Ron," we all said.
Ron just sat down as Mum put breakfast on the table. We all put food on our plates. As we were eating two owls flew in and flew right to me. I took the package and note off the first owl before giving it some bacon. Then I did the same with the other owl and gave it some bacon. Then they both flew off. I opened the first note.
Happy Birthday Stormfly. I hope you enjoy it. I miss you Lils. I found this and thought of you though so Happy Birthday.
Love,
Billy
I giggled as I read the note. Bill had always called me Stormfly or Lils and in return I called him Billy. I grabbed the package that was from him. It was a CD player and there were CDs from my favorite musicians. There was also a speaker for when I played my music out loud and headphones so I could listen by myself. I would have to write a big thank you to him. I opened the second note.
Hey Starship. Happy Birthday. I miss you so much as well as Dragonheart. Hope you enjoy your birthday.
Love,
Char/Dragon/Dragonhugger/Dragonlover/Flamehead
I laughed as Charlie had listed off quite a few nicknames that I gave him. I opened the package from him. It was a figurine that moved around of a Common Welsh Green which happened to be my favorite dragon. He also sent me a necklace with a Dragon tooth on it, though it was just a baby tooth and I know it was from a Common Welsh Green.
As the day went on I got fantasy books from the muggle world sent to me by Remus. I got a journal from Percy. Fred and George gave me prank supplies from Zonko's. Ron gave me sweets as usual. Ginny gave me a picture of her and me that was framed so that I wouldn't forget her. Mum and Dad gave me a pair of gloves and a hat. Charlie's friend, Tonks, sent me a book on wolves as they were a favorite animal of mine. I also received an snowy white owl from someone named Hagrid. I named her snow.
Mum made strawberry cake for me and it was delicious.
I feel asleep hoping my dreams wouldn't be haunted again. But I was wrong.
"He's here! Lily take Lindsay and Harry and run," a man with hazel eyes, wore glasses, and had messy black hair said.
A woman with beautiful red hair and green eyes nodded and ran upstairs with a girl and a boy in her arms. She set them down in the crib and shut the door. She barricaded the door and kneeled in front of the crib.
"Harry. Lindsay. Mumma loves you. Daddy loves you. Both of you be safe be strong," the woman said.
Then the door way exploded. A man with red eyes and a snake like face came in.
"Stand aside girl," the man said.
"No. Kill me instead. Don't harm my children," the woman begged.
This continued with her pleading and the man telling her to move until he hit her with a green light. She feel to the ground lifeless.
"You know if there wasn't a prophecy I would raise you and your sister to be my followers. Pity that can't happen," the man said.
He pointed his wand at the little boy and a green light came out of it.
I sat up straight, screaming, and covered in cold sweat.
"It's ok sweetheart," I hear Mum say as she rubs my back.
I look to the doorway to see my four brothers. I see Ginny shaking.
"I'm sorry Robin. I didn't mean to scare you. It was just a nightmare," I said.
She ran to me and hugged me. She started to cry.
"You were thrashing so badly I didn't know what to do," Ginny said.
"I'm sorry Ginny," I said.
"What was it about," Dad asked.
I explained about my dream as it was I'd had the last part of the dream but never that much before. Mum and Dad looked at each other.
"We'll need to talk to you in the morning Lindsay," Dad said.
"Ok Daddy," I said.
Soon it was just Ginny and me in the room.
"Do you want to sleep with me tonight Red," I asked.
She nodded then looked me in the eye.
"Story," she asked.
I laughed.
"Aren't you getting a bit to old for stories Ginny," I asked.
"Not yours," she said.
"Alright but I'm not telling you a story about Harry Potter tonight," I said.
Ginny nodded as I did get sick of making up stories about Harry Potter.
"Ok tonight's story is the Two Spies that feel in Love. Think you can handle it," I asked.
At Ginny's excited nod I was excited myself as I wrote it down earlier which helped me remember the stories I tell.
"Ok. Once upon a time there was a man and a woman. And they were both spies. She from one country, he from another. She had a very important mission assigned to her. He was her mission. Her was to take him out," I said
"On a date," Ginny asked.
"No. Uh, take him--," I started.
"Oh, you mean...," Ginny said.
"I shouldn't be telling you this," I said
"Go on. Go on," Ginny said.
"You have to understand these were dark and times. An of turmoil between countries. Out off ear a new kind of soldier was created-- brilliant, soldiers whose weapons were their minds. Those men and women were spies. They were masters of disguise. They sensed danger a mile away... and work... wars were ended before they even started. The only thing spies were afraid of were other spies-- enemy spies. So, sometimes, one spy's mission was to make the enemy disappear. He was the assignment that would change her life but when the moment finally came to out her mission she couldn't do it. He was different than she expected. Sure, he was charming and intelligent but he was unexpectedly honorable and it made her realize how of working with emotion had its toll. So they kept contact through dates-- very discreet. After all, they were on different sides so they would never be seen together. Dinner followed wherever mutual travels took them. And they fell in love and they decided that, together they would embark on the most mission dangerous of all time," I said.
"What," Ginny asked.
"They decided to marry," I said.
"Wow," Ginny said as she got more into the story.
"Oh, yes. On her wedding day she felt like she would rather brave a thousand deadly missions than go through with what she was about to attempt," I said.
"Why is that," Ginny asked.
"Well, marriage is a mission so complex that only the most courageous and slightly insane need apply. There's such an amazing series of obstacles one has to navigate to keep a marriage together-- much less family-- that it frightened even her a hardened and experienced secret agent. But when she saw him standing there with no doubt whatsoever so assured of his decision so enamored with what they were about to do she took his hand looked deep into his eyes and said the two most dangerous most trusting words you can say to anyone," I said.
"What," Ginny asked.
"She said, "I do"," I said.
"Oh, that's so cool and romantic," Ginny said.
"Yeah. Then the problems started. Now, there was always some faction that wanted at least one of them gone. On their own, each agent was notorious but together, they made tempting targets. So, they retired settled down had a few kids. In a way, they exchanged one life of adventure for another trading espionage for parenthood-- a mysterious and compelling mission in its own right. And they're better off. The end," I said.
"Canary," Ginny asked sleepily.
"Yes little Robin," I said.
"Do you think Harry and I can have that," Ginny asked sleepily.
"Not yet little Robin but maybe one day. Go to sleep little Robin," I said.
She nodded and fell asleep with her head on my chest. I kissed her head before falling asleep.
