Chapter Sixteen

Once they were allowed to leave the hospital wing, Rosalie and Harry immediately set off to find Ron and Hermione. They came across them talking in a stairwell quietly to each other, but must've sensed people staring at them, as they turned quickly to look before smiles spread across their face.

"All right there, Ron?" Harry asked his friend.

"All right. You?"

Harry shrugged. "All right. Hermione?"

"Never better." The bushy haired girl smiled at them. "Rosalie?"

With her three friends watching her, she nodded. "Excellent."

"Now," Hermione began as she descended the stairs, Ron on her heels, "what's this about you two being siblings I'm hearing?"

Rosalie smiled, looking over at Harry. The four friends joined together, chattering as they headed for the Great Hall.

The Great Hall was loud with chatter from the students from the four houses. However, with a tap on her cup from Professor McGonagall, the chatter subsided, dying down. All attention turned to Dumbledore as he rose, preparing a farewell speech.

"Another year gone. And now, as I understand it, the house cup needs awarding. And the points stand thus: In fourth place, Gryffindor with three hundred twelve points."

Rosalie gave no expression as the other houses applauded quietly, waiting patiently to hear the rest of the points for the houses.

"Third place, Hufflepuff with three hundred fifty two points."

The clapping was a bit louder this time, but not very much.

"In second place, Ravenclaw with four hundred twenty six points."

The clapping was even louder this time, some cheers accompanying the applause. Rosalie caught Luna's eye and smiled, waving at her. She returned the wave cheerfully, smiling back at the redhead. Rosalie was regretful that she wasn't able to spend very much time with the blonde other than studying between classes, because although she was a bit scatter minded in the eyes of others, she was wonderful company and a very good friend. She made a silent vow to spend more time with the Ravenclaw girl next year.

"And in first place, with four hundred seventy two points, Slytherin House."

The Slytherin table seemed to be the only ones clapping, banging on the table and patting each other on the backs. The other houses had a few scattered applauses, but not very much, even less than Gryffindor had. Rosalie noticed Draco smirking in their direction, and instead of giving him a rude or "shove off" look in response, she smiled at him and clapped until he looked away with a confused look planted on his face.

"Yes, yes, well done, Slytherin. Well done." Dumbledore quieted them down. "However recent events must be taken into account, and I have a few last-minute points to award."

This caught the attention of the houses, some whispers rising up before being muffled in anticipation of the announcement of the points.

"To Miss Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect while others were in grave peril, fifty points."

Hermione smiled as cheers and applause rang out for her, Rosalie nudging her. Harry patter her on the back, while Ron congratulated her.

"Second, to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best-played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years, fifty points."

Ron grinned and turned almost as red as his hair as the students clapped and cheered, nodding his head to congratulate himself.

"Third, to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house thirty points."

The cheering was louder this time as the Gryffindor house slowly neared the Slytherin house in regards to points, Rosalie grinned as she clapped, suddenly filled with excitement, contagious from the others.

"And fourth, to Miss Rosalie Potter—" whisperings broke out again but were stifled even faster, obviously the school already knew, "—for the courage and loyalty to follow a friend into possible danger with nothing but determination, thirty points."

Rosalie wanted desperately to cover her face as she was sure it was turning as red as her hair, but the cheering was louder than it had been so far, the Gryffindor house realizing they  were neck and neck with Slytherin, just a single point more and they would win. Hermione nudged her back as she applauded, Ron cheering and Harry telling her "great job" was nearly too much for the girl, who almost burst into tears in the spot from gratitude.

"And finally, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. I award ten points to Neville Longbottom."

Neville didn't seem sure of what had just happened until someone patted him on the back. He looked around in bewilderment before asking Rosalie, "Me?"

The redhead nodded happily. "You," She confirmed, applauding him proudly.

"Assuming that my calculations are correct, I believe that a change of decoration is in order." Dumbledore clapped his hands once, and the Slytherin flags blew back, before transforming into Gryffindor flags and colors. Rosalie watched, still astonished by the magic surrounding her. She looked back to see Professor McGonagall smiling at her, proud for her house.

"Gryffindor wins the house cup!" Dumbledore announced.

The Gryffindor table exploded, leaping to their feet and tossing their hats in the air. They were joined by Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, the after two houses clearly grateful that Slytherin hadn't won yet again. Too much winning could clearly get to your head, and Rosalie was quite satisfied with the result of this school year.

Down by the train, Hagrid was doing his best to corral the students onto the train. "Come on now. Hurry up, you'll be late. Train's leaving. Go on. Come on, hurry up."

Harry, Hermione, Rosalie and Ron headed onto the train. Rosalie had already said her goodbyes to Professor McGonagall, who insisted that she write whenever need be, and if she had no way to get school supplies or a way to the platform, to let her know and everything would be arranged and taken care of. When the redhead hugged the professor, she didn't seem sure of what to do, but eventually hugged her back.

"Come on, Harry," Hermione called for Harry as he hesitated.

"One minute."

"So," Hermione turned to Rosalie as Harry ran to Hagrid, "are you ready to return home?"

"Not even close," the redhead laughed. "I wish I could just stay here forever. I can't wait until next year. We'll all write each other, correct?" She turned to check with Ron, who nodded. "Absolutely," Hermione confirmed. "Oh, I just can't believe the school year is already over."

Rosalie nodded, and then spotted a certain blonde floating around. "Just a second," she excused herself, before hurrying over to Luna.

"Why hello, Rosie." Rosalie smiled at the nickname Luna gave her. "Have a good school year?"

"The best one yet," Rosalie replied. "I'm sorry we didn't get to spend much time together, that must change next year."

Luna gave her a soft smile. "That's fine by me, but no apologies necessary. You had your tasks, and I had mine."

"We could write, if you'd like?" Rosalie asked hopefully. She fought the urge to bite her lip as she waited for an answer.

"Absolutely, of course! Just write my name on the letter and Pipper will find me, she's a beautiful owl." Luna nodded happily.

"Rosalie! I've got something to show you!" Harry called across the way, standing with Ron and Hermione, holding a red book. Rosalie turned back to Luna, smiling at her. "Well, I better be going. I'll write you and see you next year!"

As Rosalie turned and bounced back across to her friends, Luna watched the red hair that reminded her of a flame, standing out in a sea of dull colors. "Rosalie Potter... I quite like that name," Luna mused to herself as she made her way to the train. "Rose... like her hair... and her mother! Oh, that's such a clever idea!" She laughed, clapping her hands as she hopped onto the train. "A clever idea indeed."

Once Rosalie reached her friends again, Harry opened the book. On the first page was a moving photograph, of James holding Harry, making him wave to the camera, and Lily holding Rosalie, bouncing her up and down as the redhead baby laughed. It was most likely the first picture of her parents the girl had ever seen, and she touched the edges of it.

Harry pulled a photo out of his pocket. "Hagrid took a photo of this one here, so it's not quite as good but it's still—" he was cut off by a giant hug from Rosalie—his sister—as she was temporarily overcome with emotion. As she pulled away, she smiled. "Thank you, Harry," she said, her voice filled with gratitude.

"Feels strange to be going home, doesn't it?" Hermione questioned them.

"I'm not going home. Not really," Harry replied, looking towards the castle and Hagrid.

"More like I'm leaving home," Rosalie corrected Hermione. "I've never felt more at home in a place before. I'll miss it." She shook her head sadly as they boarded the train, Harry pulling the door shut behind them.

Wow, it's been a while.

It's been so long since I've actually published anything on here, I've been focused on rewriting for months now.

I know that the start of this book was incredibly frustrating and difficult to get up off the ground, but we finally did it, and now we're at the end of book one. Hopefully, I'll have the first chapter of Chamber of Secrets up within a few days.

I can't tell you how excited I am now that we're moving on. I'm finally getting a little more time to write, and I've figured out what I'm doing on Wattpad and what my biggest projects are (this book series and rewriting my Walking Dead series).

If you've been here from the start, thank you. If you're just joining in, thank you. Thank you for just reading my writing. I know it's not the best, but I'm improving every day (or so I hope) and I've got big plans for this series.

I'll see you all in the next book.
