Chapter 1
Obviously, I don't own any characters and I can't draw so I didn't make that cover some Internet person did :-)
Two twin boys were in their bedroom with their mother who was consoling the smaller as he cried a terrible cry that filled the mother with sorrow because her baby was in pain and she didn't know why or how to fix it. "Hush my child, I"m here. I'll always be here. Always." The mother never kept her promise because later that night a dark man came into the house and killed her and tried to kill the larger of the twins but failed as the spell rebounded and diminished him to a spirit. Later, a man in dark clothes came in and held the mother, known as Lily Potter, and cried for her. She was the only person he deeply cared for. He stayed there for hours until he heard the front door open and he quickly apparated away. The person who opened the door was quite large considering he was only half human, the other half being giant, came to the small boys' room, only prepared to take one baby to their aunt and uncle's house, was surprised to see a frail baby clutching onto the larger one as if his life depended on it. The small one was awake and his eyes filled with hope when he saw the large man. He gently picked up the two babies and wrapped them in warm blankets as the ride to their new home would be cold. By the time they arrived both infants were asleep, the burly man handed them to an older man who put them on the doorstep of the Dursleys' house as a woman complained that they should stay with them.

Two boys were sleeping in a small bedroom when an unnecessarily loud knock on the door woke them up. The smaller one of the two quickly got up and changed from the extremely baggy pajamas he wore into everyday clothes that were just as baggy and waited for his twin brother, Harry, to change so they could make breakfast. "Hey, Harry?" the smaller one asked in a weak voice. "Yea Perce?" the other one asked as the walked down the stairs to the kitchen. "I had another one of the dreams, the one about the wars, this time we were fighting with powerful men and women, not just teenagers," he told him, Percy had a tendency to dream of unimaginable wars, but no matter how hard they looked, they could never find anything about any wars anywhere that could stimulate the dreams he had. "It's okay," Harry reassured his twin knowing that those simple words, maybe not even true, comforted his brother in some way. They made eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast. Percy cleared the table of some of Dudley's birthday presents so they could actually eat on it. The twins were treated like slaves by the Dursleys', they had to make breakfast, tidy up after, clean the lounge, make all of the beds, make lunch, then Aunt Petunia gave them some other job, like weed the garden, then make dinner, clean up and go to bed. It wasn't a great life but the boys made the best of it. Percy always loved the outside so every night at 10:45 P.M. when every night everyone was asleep, even Harry, he would sneak out. He would sneak out and talk to the wind. The wind never answered or interrupted him. It never judged him or tried to cure him of things that couldn't be cured, it just listened to him. Sometimes he never talked he just laid on the lawn and looked at the stars, his favorite constellation was on he named 'The Huntress'. It wasn't a real constellation according to all of the books he read at the library he snuck to sometimes about astronomy. He did have dyslexia, he knew it even though he never got tested, but it never stopped him from reading. Percy rarely slept, not from his nightly outings, but from the nightmares that never leave his sleep. Harry was the only other person he knew about them, he was the only person Percy ever trusted. "Hey, Percy?" Harry asked slightly concerned. "Hmm?" "Why aren't you eating?" Percy was too deep in thought and realized he hadn't even started eating. "Oh sorry, I was thinking." he apologized. He quickly ate some toast and eggs to make his twin happy. They looked nearly identical, except Percy was smaller and Harry's eyes were more of an emerald green than Percy's sea green eyes, other than that they were completely the same. Harry and Percy continued to eat the breakfast they had made. Petunia was sipping her tea and reading some sort of romance novel, as usual, she had to fantasize what a perfect husband would be like because her actual husband could never use his imagination to actually love her, and Vernon was drinking his coffee and reading the daily paper. Percy could hear Dudley complaining about something but decided not to listen, but he noticed Harry starting to eat his food faster, so Dudley must be about to throw a tantrum. Petunia calmed him in time before he flipped the table. The phone rang startling Percy and making him jump. "Oh no, Vernon, Mrs. Figg's broken her leg. She can't watch them." Percy and Harry looked at each other joy written on their faces, they never got to go anywhere and Dudley always went somewhere cool with a friend for his birthday and they were always left with Mrs. Figg and her cabbage house and cat pictures. Harry threw in that they could stay home alone, which was shot down quickly. They finally decided that they would have to go to the zoo when Dudley's best friend rang the doorbell. So, Percy, Harry, Dudley, and Piers were squeezed in the back and taken to the zoo. When they parked Vernon pulled the two boys aside, "I'm warning you two, any funny business anything at all -- and you'll be locked in your room until Christmas." he threatened, putting his ugly face in theirs. They both promised that they wouldn't do anything. They never understood why, but weird things always happened when they were around, they just guessed it was a twin thing or something. The Dursleys' bought Dudley and Piers chocolate ice and Percy and Harry some lemon ice pops after the lady asked if they wanted anything. Percy held onto Harry's hand as if his life depended on it, he has social anxiety and the zoo was crowded considering it was a sunny Saturday. Harry didn't mind because he knew his brother needed him and that was the only thing that mattered. They walked behind the Dursleys' and co. because they knew the two boys were getting bored and would hit them, and it was nice to pretend they didn't know them, even for a little while. They ate at one of the zoo's restaurants and both Percy and Harry got a knickerbocker glory when Dudley threw a tantrum because his didn't have enough ice cream on top and Piers agreed and they bought new ones from a different vendor and gave the old ones to them. Finally, they went to the only place Percy and Harry wanted to go, the Reptile House, it was cool and dark unlike the harsh beating sun outside. They gazed into each window seeing countless lizards and snakes. Percy stayed at a window with long-necked turtles because he called them adorable. Harry continued on and stopped at a boa constrictor that the Dursleys' just left moments before. The snake was sleeping. It suddenly opened its eyes and raised his head to meet Harry's and winked at him. Harry was taken back a snake just winked at him. Harry whirled around making sure no one was looking and winked back. The snake looked at the Dursleys' and rolled his eyes as if saying, 'I get that all of the time.' The snake and Harry talked for a small while before Piers yelled at the top of his lungs, "Dudley, Mr. Dursley Come look at what this snake is doing!" Dudley pushed Harry out of the way and Harry fell to the ground. Suddenly the glass disappeared and the snake escaped. Harry could have sworn he heard the snake say, "Brazil, here I come... Thanksss amigo." They all went home and after Piers was safely away from the house Mr. Dursley turned towards the twins, "You two, room, don't leave, no meals," he stuttered out and collapsed in his chair. "But Percy had nothing to do with it." Harry tried to protest but his brother just tugged his sleeve towards the room, not wanting to get in any more trouble. They went to their rooms. Harry and Percy laid in their respective beds thinking about similar thoughts. Percy thought of escaping and running away while Harry thought of an unknown family member taking them away from the Dursley household. They fell asleep without dinner.
