The Last Night

That night, I tried to sleep. Instead, I woke up in tears and sweating in fear. I had seen Remus, he had been trying to kill me. It was the scariest thing I had ever seen in my entire life.

"Sapphire? Are you okay? You were screaming in your sleep." Lily's voice had a slight edge of nervousness to it.

"I was? Oh no! I'm so sorry Lily, I didn't mean to wake you. Go back to sleep."

"Ok..." She sounded unconvinced.

"How about I meet you in the great hall? Ok."

"Yah, sure. I'm going back to bed for a while."

"Kay." I started my way down to the great hall, passing many sleepy portraits. They looked curious as to why I was up, but didn't question me. I heard some noises up ahead, and decided to investigate. As the corner grew ever closer, I grew even more curious.

When I actually reached the corner, my body stopped moving. My head was shouting at me to not go and look, that it would be the end of me. Finally, I broke free of the trance I had been in, and turned the corner to meet a startling sight, one that would be my last of this life.

Remus and his blond-headed friend were snogging each other in the hallway, pressed up against the wall. I gasped, and the last thing I ever saw was Remus's shocked face peering down at me as I fell and hit the floor. My head started spinning, and my world went black, and not because I fainted. This time, I wasn't coming back to my life. I was dead.

.~'**'~. Remus POV .~'**'~.

As Sapphires head hit the floor, I could tell it was fatal. The way her neck was bent, how no breathing could be seen within her small frame.

"No. No no no no no. This was never supposed to happen. Sapphire? Can you hear me. Get up. Sapphire, this isn't funny." My voice took on a hysterical pitch as she didn't move.

"SAPPHIRE. Get up! This isn't funny. SAPPHIRE!" Tears streamed down my face as she didn't answer or respond.

"No..." I whispered. Picking her up, I ran towards the dorms, blondie long forgotten.

" JAMES!!!" I roared, looking around for the innocents twin. "IT'S ABOUT SAPPHIRE! MAKE HER GET UP! Please, make her GET UP!" I was screaming at a hysterical rate when James came running down the stairs.

"Moony! What is so important about Saph not getting up?" He gasped as his eyes found his twin in my arms.

"I don't think she's ever going to wake Moony. WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?" His face was bright red and his eyes were brimming with tears that threatened to fall. So I explained everything.

"No. She's isn't dead. My sister is not dead. She can't be dead. It isn't possible. Moony, say it isn't possible. Please!" He was pleading with me as we ran to Dumbledore's office. Stuttering, I made my reply.

"Prongs, she hit her head really hard, and I can't feel a pulse. I'm sorry."

A few hours later, Dumbledore came out of his office, with eyes as red as ours.

"Boys, I'm sorry, but Sapphire is no more. She is dead."
