I spent all night carving words of hatred into my arms, along with other cuts. Before I realized it, I had to get to class. Not having any time to fix my arm, I threw on my white shirt, skirt, and robes. I ran very quickly, not wanting to be late.

"Ms. Potter? Why, may I ask, are you five minutes late to class?" McGonagall did not sound happy, not at all.

"I-I-I slept in by accident." Her eyebrows went up slightly, but she did not question any more. The hour passed by in a blur, and soon enough, it was the end of the hour. As I was leaving, a certain Sirius Black just so happened to grab my arm. Fresh blood squirted out of my wound, spelling "stupid" on my robe. My eyes widened, and I tried desperately to escape his grasp. He ripped up the arm of my robe and gasped at the bloody cuts beneath. Realizing something, I tried to make him move his hand away from my pocket discreetly. Unfortunately, he saw my plan and reached deep into the cavern of my pocket. My eyes filled with sorrow as he pulled out the bloody knife I had used to cut myself earlier. I had forgotten to put it away!

"Did you do this to yourself?" Slowly, I nodded. His entire face became red. I backed away slowly, hoping he wouldn't explode. Suddenly I realized that he had released me. I ran as far and a quick as I could. Drip drip drip. More blood oozed out of the wound. Drip drip drip. The world was starting to spin slowly. Drip drip drip. The world went black.

"Ms. Potter?" A voice was straight above me as my eyes fluttered open.

"I have some grave news to tell you." Well, he did look more off-put than usual...

"Uh, hi, Professor Dumbledore? What's the matter?"

"Poppy took a look at your blood level, and no one human could have possibly survived losing that much blood." No. No no no. If I was different I would be teased more! I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost lost what Dumbledore said next.

"Ms. Potter, you are a child of the Phoenix."
