A/N and Ayana 2(kind of)

Okay, so I know I've been slow to update recently, not just on this story but my other ones too. I'm sorry. I've had writer's block and I've been sidetracked by school. This week I will have finals and it will be my last week of school. I'm going to be leaving the day after school gets out. So far, I've been writing these chapters on the computer the school provided me. So, that means that from this Thursday on, I won't have access to a computer for a while.

Don't worry guys. I'm not leaving forever. I promise. When I get to Idaho(I'm moving there from Southeast Alaska), I'm going to get a computer before the next school year starts. I don't know exactly how long it'll be, but I will get a computer and have internet again at some point over the summer. I swear, I'll be back.

Once again, guys, I'm really sorry I won't be updating for a while, but I promise I'm coming back within a couple months. You can just keep checking it every month or so over the summer, but I will put up an announcement when I come back. Just a fair warning, my followers will be the first to know when I come back.

For now, though, I did manage to get through part of the next chapter. I was planning to finish it, but I'll be really busy this next week and I won't have time to finish it. So without further ado, on with the story!

We have a new kid coming today. This is the second one we've gotten in the last couple of weeks. Usually, we never get new kids at all. I wonder if something was going on that caused people to move here. No, it's probably just a coincidence. I wonder what this one will be like. I wonder what their powers will be. We walk into the auditorium and sit down. The principal walks on stage with the new kid.

This one's a boy. He has tan skin and black hair streaked with brown. But, the thing that stands out the most is his eyes. They're a bright emerald green that doesn't at all match the rest of him. They also have flecks of gold and silver. I wonder what powers those represent. He's cute.

"Students," Mrs. Therrian says, "This is Vincent, he has unusual powers, but he will be going to the same classes as the rest of you, and I expect all of you to treat him the same way you would treat someone with more...conventional powers."

His face is turning red now. He clearly doesn't like being in front of people, and it looks like Principal Therrian is just making it worse.

"Vincent," she says, "Would you like to tell the students something about yourself?"

"Umm..." he says, "Well, I've b-been h-homeschooled m-my whole l-life and I c-came here so I c-could g-go to school w-with other k-kids."

A small giggle comes from some of the kids. His face is turning even more red. They really shouldn't make fun of him. He's clearly uncomfortable enough as it is.

"Well," says Principal Therrian, "I hope you will all treat our new student with respect and remember that his powers aren't important. What really counts is who he is as a person. You may all return to your classes."

He hurries off stage.

I guess this is better than nothing right? I hope so. Tell me what you think so far! Do you love it? Hate it? Can't tell without the rest of the chapter? Comment below! Your opinion matters! See you in a couple months! Bye!
