Chapter 31
Hahahahahahaha I just got told that my two bestest friends are most probably changing schools for our senior yeah hahahaha I'm sad now. I was not supposed to be sad until later this year, it came early....noooo-
NGL this year would suck so bad without them but obviously I won't tell them because I support their decision and I want the best for them so...man I hate this...I thought we'd graduate together...guess not anymore.
I already had four of my greatest friends leave too, so if these two leave I will be a literal wreck.
Anyways...here's another chapter, enjoy!
(this is gonna take a while because I just lost all my inspiration yay.)
Sky
We just won the basketball championships.
The crowd erupted in loud cheers, since most of them are supporters of our school, and I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and happiness as my teammates and I all hugged each other while screaming.
This is the perfect end to the week.
I aced most of my exams -I think- and now I just won my first championships as captain.
I looked over to the crowd and spotted my brother cheering loudly for me. Peter was next to him, cheering just as loud. Then I saw Anna and Laura who were dancing awfully as they yelled our names. Two rows away were Tim, Aidan and Owen cheering just like everyone else in the court. Taybh was in the crowd too.
I grinned brightly and found Nat, giving her the tightest hug, happy about our achievement. Stormie joined us in celebration and we all gave her a sweaty group hug.
My ponytail was a mess and my face was flushed red as sweat dripped from my forehead and fogged my glasses, but that didn't falter my grin one bit as we took a team picture for the yearbook. I was in the middle, next to Stormie, and I held the ball in my hand, showing that I'm the captain.
In our last game, we received medals for making it into the championships, but now we'll be getting the actual important rewards.
We each received a gold medal, and our school got a huge trophy. I got a smaller trophy as captain of the team.
My team cheered my name and I blushed and laughed happily before I turned the cheer to Stormie.
"Here's to Stormie's new life as a wife!" I cheered, raising my trophy in the air.
The court got emptier soon and then my friends came down to congratulate me and Nat as we were chugging on our water.
"You look like shit." Luke motioned to me and I gave him a bored look. "But you played pretty damn well."
"Of course I did, I'm awesome." I high fived him with a grin.
"I still don't understand anything about the game, but you two were awesome!" Anna exclaimed and Laura agreed with her.
"Except when you missed that three pointer." Tim teased and I flipped him off, making us both laugh.
My brother offered us a ride home but I refused, since the girls and I planned walking to the uni to hang out for a while. He said bye to us and left, since he had plans with his friends but he ditched them earlier for the basketball game.
"Dude but the way you moved in the court was flipping amazing!" I exclaimed to Nat, shaking her shoulders like a mad man.
"Hey, you guys going to Bri's party?"
Bri?
"Nah, we're walking around the uni." Nat said.
"And we're going to eat." Owen said gesturing to him and his two friends.
"Please come to the party with me." Peter whined.
"Nu uh, sorry dude but there is no way in hell that I would go to a party." Anna shook her head.
"Why not?"
"Dude, all they're going to be doing is get stupidly drunk and make out with each other." I grimaced. "I would rather jump in a dumpster than go to one of those parties."
"Speaking from experience, she is not wrong." Laura added.
"You've been to one of the parties?" Aidan asked her and us girls laughed and shook our heads.
"Nah, we threw her in a dumpster once."
Tim burst out laughing at Laura and she flipped him off, he flipped her off back.
Such precious friendships.
"Sky, please?" Peter pleaded while softly taking ahold of my hand, and I noticed Tim watching our hands to make sure Peter doesn't cross any boundaries, I think.
"I'm sorry, Peter. I just really hate these parties and I'd rather stay with the girls."
"But you're my girlfriend!" He exclaimed. "You can't let me go to a party alone."
I fought the urge to roll my eyes, but apparently Anna and Tim didn't.
"And you're my boyfriend, you can't let me celebrate my first win as a captain alone." I said back. "But I won't force you, because that's just not who I am, Peter. I'm sorry but I'm not going to the party. That doesn't mean you can't go, I mean I trust you, right?"
He sighed and gave in. "Fine...Congratulations on your win again, you were really awesome out there." He smiled softly at me and then turned to Nat. "you were awesome too, Nat."
"Thanks." We smiled at him and he left, probably straight to Brianna's party.
"That was an asshole move." Owen furrowed his eyebrows. "He'd rather spend time with gross teens than his own girlfriend?"
No one knows that Tim knows about us fake dating. The only people who know about this whole thing are me, Peter, Nat, Laura, Anna, Tim, Stormie and Meg.
Tim and I exchanged a look and I chuckled. "It's fine, I just need my girls with me. Thanks for coming to the game, by the way."
"Of course, we wouldn't miss it!" Aiden exclaimed.
"Welp, I'll see you guys later. Nat and I gotta hit the showers." I wave goodbye to the boys and went to the locker room to grab our things and go to the showers.
Once we're done, we dry ourselves and change back into our casual outfits before we got out and regrouped with Laura and Anna who waited for us.
We walked to the uni, deciding to hang out around the clock tower there. We talked about random things, discussing exams and how stupid some questions are, telling stories of funny things that happen in class, whining about Kevin annoying us and much more.
"I can't wait to see the play." I say, pulling my legs to my chest as we sat on the grass.
"I know right?" Anna agreed. "The play seems really interesting."
"You're going to rock your part, girl!" Nat punched her arm lightly.
Laura got up and bowed.
"I know I'm awesome." She laughed, sitting down again.
"Yeya!" I raise the roof, as teens say.
God, I said that as if I'm a middle aged cat lady.
"Oh, Anna how's Alice?" Nat asks. Anna has an older sister who got a scholarship to study abroad. I've never really talked to her much, but she seems awesome.
"Oh, she's great. She's coming home for Christmas, I can't wait!"
"I can't wait for school to end." I say and lay down on the grass, putting my arms under my head.
"And your birthday." Nat smirked.
I sit up quickly, glaring at her.
"I swear if you guys bring me gifts I will hunt you all down with a banana." I said seriously, my eyes narrowed. I push my glasses up my nose before they slip off.
Playing basketball with glasses is a whole talent itself.
"You know we can't do that." Anna said.
"Just keep it as simple as possible, please." I sigh but smile.
"I wonder what Peter would bring you." Laura smirked.
"Or Tim." Nat wiggled her eyebrows.
"First of all, if you tell Peter I will cut your head off, and second, Tim gives the best gifts ever; nothing. And please stop shipping it."
"Never."
"I think it's time we go home, it's getting too dark." Anna suggested. "We need to get ready for tomorrow."
Tomorrow is Stormie's wedding. Meg and I are meeting up at her place to get ready, and I'll be doing her nails, then she'll do my hair. She'll also have to train me with heels. Then we're meeting with the girls and Stormie at the venue to help around, and once again, I'll be doing everyone's nails.
I'm so scared I'll mess up Stormie's nails, but I'm also really excited to be a part of her big day.
She doesn't have any little kids to be the flower girls, and she really wanted us to be a part of her wedding, so now we're the flower girls.
We get up and wipe the dirt away from our butts and ask each other if we have anything left on our clothes. Once we're good, we start walking back.
We get to a part of the uni that is really dark and empty of people. Suddenly I see a creepy minivan coming up and I warn the girls, telling them to act like it's not there.
My heart starts beating faster as the minivan slows down next to us, and the guy inside of it grins at us, his friends next to him.
"Need a ride?" He says in a voice that makes me want to crawl out of my skin. I ignore him and keep walking, hoping the girls would too.
"No thanks." Nat said, not even looking.
"Oh come on, can't have you walk in the dark alone." He said.
"Fuck off." Laura says and the guys get mad, speeding their minivan and getting it closer to us. My eyes widen and I panic as I tell the girls to follow me and I start running into the small woods next to us.
We live in a mountain like area, so there are lots of ups and downs everywhere. We stumble down the dirt hills, trying to avoid the trees in the pitch black darkness as we ran fast, trying to get back to the clock tower, where there are a lot of people still.
I see the minivan take the road to where we are heading and my heart falls into a pit. I continue running nonetheless, taking us to a faculty that is completely empty and dark, but there aren't any roads directly over here, and there's a way from here to the clock tower. I lead the girls through the paths that I know like the back of my hand and we get to a small staircase, leading to the clock tower. We run down the stairs and head straight for the clock tower and sit on the edge of the fountain around it. The minivan sees us and starts to circle us, but they can't do anything with all the people around us.
We sit, trying to catch our breath, all of us scared of what could have happened. Tears brimmed my eyes as I breathed heavily, my head getting dizzy from the lack of oxygen in my lungs.
"Are you guys okay?" I ask weakly.
"Yeah..." They answered, all of them shaken up as much as me.
Yes we walk with a screwdriver in our purses, but we're still teenagers, no matter how strong we are, we could have easily been outnumbered; who knows how many guys there were in that van?
"We can't walk back alone..." I say and pull out my phone bringing out my contacts.
I can't call my family, or they'd never let us walk here again, so I call the next best person.
"Hello?" I hear his voice at the end of the line.
"Hey..." I say but my voice cracks as I take in a shaky breath, my eyes darting everywhere to make sure we're safe.
"Sky, what's wrong?" He asked. "Are you okay?"
"No..." More tears pooled in my eyes as the girls and I clung to each other. "Tim, we just got chased by a minivan. They're still around."
"Where are you? Are you safe?"
"Yeah we uhh, we're sitting by the clock tower in the uni, there's a lot of people here so they can't get to us here, but we can't go home."
"Stay there, we're coming." He said. "We're not far, we'll be there in five minutes."
"Okay, thank you."
"You're okay." He reassured me. "I'll see you in a bit."
Just as promised, the boys got here in a couple of minutes, stopping the car right in front us, I jumped from the sight, still paranoid about what happened and I was freaking out until Tim came out of the car, followed by Aidan and Owen.
Owen went straight over to Nat, giving her a quick hug and I smiled at the sight. I ship them. I turned to see Tim and Aidan standing with me, Laura and Anna.
"Hey, are you guys okay?"
I nodded weakly as Laura said yes. She and Anna were standing close to each other, still shaken up. I just hate how girls are always targets unless there's a guy with them.
"Sky, hey, look at me." Tim said sternly yet softly. "You're okay. We're here."
"Yeah...Thank you, Tim." I smiled weakly.
