Today was the day. The day that i would find my beloved. My mate and my life. The one which i would forever cherish and spoil her rotten. I know this sounds cheezy but i dont care. I jusr hope that she would be my first just like i would be her first.
I was just putting on my shoes all dressed up for the mating ceremony when the door to my room opened and mom came in.
"Are you ready?" Mom asked sitting on the bed beside me.
"Yes mom. More than ready," i smiled as i tied my shoe laces.
"I cant believe it. My baby is all grown up," mom had tears in her eyes.
"Mom stop with the romantic stuff. It gets to my head," i said rolling my eyes.
"That head of your will think only one thing when you find your mate today," mom said tapping my head.
"Mom will my mate accept me?" I asked.
"Of course she will! What is wrong with my boy anyway? He's strong and an Alpha. She wouldnt dare reject you," mom said with a slight frown.
I rolled my eyes. Even though mom was the current luna of the pack; she still acted like a child. But when it was the luna talk; watch out for my mom's wrath!
"Mom stop behaving like a child. I am an Alpha. I dont need to be baby sat all through the ceremony!" I exclaimed.
"Language Nate! You may be the future Alpha but i am still your mother," she said.
"Are we ready to go?"
I sighed in relief at dad's voice.
"Yes dad i am ready," i smiled at him.
"Great lets go," mom said.
Walking downstairs i saw Rosie with her parents as well as Shawn and Serenity. There was something about Serenity that made me want to go to her and take her. She's only 13! She's too young!
We were all going together as a group to the mating ceremony. Once there i stood outside staring at the decorated building. That building held my mate.
The one person that i would cherish and love above anyone else. She would be my Luna. The one that was made for me.
"You have to go in first Rosie," Jay said.
"Come give me a hug," Reanne said.
I liked Reanne and Jay. They were perfect for each other. Like my parents. And Joeys as well.
"Mom you'll ruin my look," Rosie said making Joey laugh.
"Rosie your mate may not be from this pack and i wont see you everyday," Reanne said in her teary voice.
"Mom! I am not going to totally lose contact with you guys!" Rosie exclaimed.
"Your mate better treat you right or else he'll have me after him," Jay growled.
"Dont worry dad. I can handle myself," Rosie said.
"Yeah beside he'll have to go through us first," i said meaning me and Joey.
The girls would go in first and get settled in and then us boys would go in one by one. Our families would wait with us in a large waiting area separate from the mating room.
I was getting excited as well as nervous. Would my mate accept me? Would i be her first? My thought clenched at the thought. I wouldnt want some other man lusting after my mate. No Alpha would want that.
"Boys its time," an Alpha from Liverpool pack said.
I stood up along with other males my stomach a tight pit of knots. I didnt want to be the one to go first.
"My boy has grown up finally," mom said tearing up again.
"Mom please cut the crap," i said.
"Mom you wouldnt start tearing up would you?" Joey asked.
That made us all laugh and the tension ended. Thank goodness! When half of the boys were inside i finally made my way inside with Joey behind me. Once inside my eyes fell on the long line of girls.
Walking past all of them i also saw Rosie. My heart skipped a beat. Maybe she was my mate? Couldnt be the first time that a best friend is your mate.
When i reached Rosie she gave me a soft smile. I smiled back in return. There werent many girls after her. My heart felt like it would crash down. I didnt find my mate. I didnt want to be too dishearted. Maybe she was late? Or stuck in a traffic? With a sigh i went to an abandoned table and sat down with my head in my hands.
Was there something wrong with me that i didnt find my mate? I know a lot of males especiallly an Alpha didnt find their mates on time. That didnt mean they didnt had a mate.
I felt someone sit next to me and looked up to find Rosie.
"I didnt find my mate as well," Rosie sighed.
"Dont worry Rose. We are in the same boat. Maybe we would find our mate later," i said trying to make her happy.
"Are you sure Nate? Maybe i dont had a mate?" Rosie's voice trembled.
"Rosie every werewolf has one. Ok? You arent any different," i said.
Rosie smiled at me and that made me happy. Rosie was my best friend and i would do anything to make her happy.
"Hey guys. This is my mate Ginger. She's from the Full Moon pack," Joey said.
The girl, Ginger, was good looking and lived up to her name. Her hair were red and her eyes brown. She suited well with Joey.
"Nathan Anderson Alpha of the Red Glare pack," i said formally.
"Rosalind Kelly Willikins beta female of the Red Glare pack," Rosie introduced herself.
I saw our families enter and my eyes fell on none other than Serenity. It was as if a weight of bricks had fallen of my shoulders. It was like the world stopped as i looked into her eyes for the briefest moment. Butt it was enough.
'Mate,' my wolf growled out.
