MLP: Cat Eye

Here's another MLP OC of mine. This one is also a pony.

Her name is Cat Eye. She's an adolescent Unicorn who attends the School of Friendship. Her parents are Amber Jaguar (her mom) and Moonstone Ring (her dad).

Cat Eye's personality is quite similar to that of an archetypal cat: cool, snarky, having somewhat of a vain streak and a loner mentality, clever, aloof, and sassy. She also tends to be kind of rebellious, especially when she's in a bad mood (which is pretty often). However, despite this, she does have a kinder side and can actually be quite generous, especially when it comes to beauty and fashion. She's also very serious and definitely not a joking-around kind of pony. When she gets into a task, she quickly gives it her close and unyielding attention.

In terms of character design, she has a pretty normal build for a pony her age. She also has a turquoise coat and a short teal and pink gradient-style mane that has two pronounced cat ear-like cowlicks on the top (and no, that's not hair gel; it just does that), all adorned with a plum purple headband (with a sewn-in hole for her horn). Her matching tail is somewhat longer, but it also has quite a few cowlicks and slightly curves over at the ends (so does her mane). However, perhaps her most prominent feature is her very striking emerald green eyes decorated with black eyeliner and wild orchid-colored eyeshadow. Her cutie mark consists of a pair of bedazzled emerald green cat's eye sunglasses with pinkish purple lenses and mint green kitty-cat ears.

Now for her character relationships. First off, Cat truly loves both of her parents (her dad's cat- and jewel-based jokes, her mom's cooking, and the fact that they'd always been two of the few ponies who were genuinely kind to her as she was growing up in Manehatten), but she also finds them to be quite embarrassing. Both of them really love talking to others about the little things about Cat that she tries to keep secret, such as her "kitty-cat onesies" and kitty pajamas (her mom made them for her), her hidden tastes in music (that wouldn't seem too out of place in the real-life 1950's), the way she played like a kitten when she was much younger (playing with yarn, string, and lasers), and most of all, the "Pretty Little Kitty Song." The reason that they'd sent Cat to Friendship School was because they thought it would help her to "open up" to others.

Speaking of Friendship School, next up is her relationships with her teachers. Cat's favorite teacher is Rarity, whom she absolutely idolizes! I mean, when she first found out that Rarity would be a teacher there, she tried to act like her usual cool and super-casual self, but inside she was totally flipping out (by which I mean she was literally doing flips in the privacy of a broom closet)!

She also thinks that Headmare Starlight Glimmer is pretty cool, partially because Starlight can relate to the whole "embarrassingly babying parents" thing (and because she thinks Starlight's whole purple-and-turquoise style is totally rockin').

Vice Headmare Sunburst is relatively neutral with Cat, but he does often wish that she'd show more respect towards her teachers.

Cat doesn't mind having talks with Counselor Trixie and even thinks that her magic tricks are pretty cool. That being said, whenever the young unicorn gets irritated by Trixie stroking her own ego,  she isn't afraid to make jabs at the counselor's white and silver mane.

She thinks that Applejack (along with Honesty class) is pretty alright, though she does often make a few snide remarks about the teacher's farmpony lifestyle (or whatever's an open opportunity at the moment), much to the latter's annoyance.

She doesn't mind Kindness class (she actually kinda likes it), but the snakes and wolves kinda scare her. She also knows how sensitive Fluttershy (or as Cat sometimes calls her, Ms. Flutters) is, so she tries not to sass at her too much or too harshly. That being said, she also thinks that The Stare is pretty darn awesome!

Cat's definitely not a fan of Laughter class (She doesn't know why school would have a class like that) or Pinkie's silly immaturity. In turn, Pinkie Pie really tries to get the young unicorn in on the fun and loosen her up.

Last but definitely not least is her relationships with her fellow Friendship School students. She personally kinda thinks that Star Tracker (whom I'm thinking could probably be enrolled in the School of Friendship at some point, along with quite a few OCs of mine) is kind of a dork, and she's easily annoyed by how little he understands personal space, but she will admit that he's actually a pretty nice guy. They don't really hang out that much, probably due to having so little in common.

Cat's dorm mate is an female adolescent Changeling named Antenna (who's one of my other OCs). As dormies, they have their best-friend moments and pet peeves with each other. Cat thinks that Antenna shedding her exoskeleton is super-gross, but she also finds the Changeling's theatrics to be very entertaining. Meanwhile, Antenna's not exactly a fan of Cat's "cold, sassy queen-bee" attitude, but also loves her skill with fashion and makeup.

One day at the School of Friendship, Headmare Starlight Glimmer set up a pen pal program, and Cat signed up for it. Why am I telling you this? Because it's how Cat Eye met Pistachio. The two of them quickly bonded over their shared love of fashion and idolization of Rarity. They frequently send each other pictures with their letters, and while Pistachio has snickered a little upon seeing Cat's fashion designs for the first time (a lot of them wouldn't have looked too out of place in the real-life 1950's), he's very supportive of her (but still not afraid to tell her what he thinks).

Now here's some trivia about Cat Eye:

-Cat really likes photography, and she partially learned how to take photos from her mother when she was very young. Everything that she didn't learn from her mother was self-taught.

-She also has some knowledge on gemstones and jewelry, which she gained from her father.

-Every weekend, Cat has gymnastics class. For that, she wears a fuchsia leotard and a matching headband in her mane (that also has a sewn-in hole for her horn).

-If there's one thing that Cat can't stand, it's others seeing her when she isn't wearing her makeup (which she describes as her face being "naked") or when her makeup gets ruined. Luckily, she's able to handle the latter scenario thanks to a little spell that Rarity taught her. It's called "Makeup Cleanup," and and it can clean any makeup mess in seconds flat. However, it also leaves the caster's face completely makeup-free, which Cat hates! That's why she always tries to keep an emergency makeup kit with her.

-She loves milk because according to her, "It's delicious, nutritious, and does wonders for your complexion!" She's also quite fond of cream.

-At home, Cat's family has enough cats to rival Goldie Delicious.

-She's a huge fan of adventure-romance novels, especially the Heart Spills and Thrills series by Adonis Heartthrob. She also loves tragedy novels.

-Cat used to live in Manehatten with her parents until they enrolled her in the School of Friendship. Deep down, she kinda misses her old home there, especially her parents.

-Starting when she was only two years old, Cat and her mom used to have this thing where the latter would dress the former up in one of her little "kitty-cat onesies," and they'd both sing the "Pretty Little Kitty Song." They stopped doing it when Cat was eight years old, and now she just finds it super-annoying and embarrassing.

-Her name comes from "kitty-cat" being her first word.

-Cat's parents send a Care Package for her to the School of Friendship about three to six times a week, and sometimes, one or two of those times has them send more than one Care Package.

So yeah, that's pretty much Cat Eye! Do you guys like her? Please tell me what you think in the comments below!
