At Cerise Laboratory, Y/N and Goh met up Professor Cerise to give them a special gift.

Professor Cerise: Here they are.

He hands Y/N and Goh a ticket each to the great Pokemon league event, the World Coronation Series.

Goh: The World Coronation Series?

Y/N: I've heard it before. Isn't is like Pokemon league where every trainer can enter?

Professor Cerise: That's right

Goh: Now only that, but they're tickets to the finals!

Ren pull up an image of Wyndon stadium, the location where the  World Coronation Series is held, on the holographic computer monitor. 

Ren: Up until now, each region has had it's own Pokemon league, each with its own champion.

Chrysa: But at the World Coronation Series, they choose the top trainer from everyone around the world!

Goh: Amazing! 

Y/N: And these are finals tickets! That means we're going to see two of the world's strongest trainers battle!

Professor Cerise: Exactly. It take place at Wyndon city. And the battles in the stadium will surely amaze you. I want you both to enjoy the match and have fun.

Y/N: Thanks Professor! I'm so excited!

Goh: And I catch more Pokemon while we're there too!

Y/N: Alright let's head to Wyndon city!

Riolu: Rio!

Scorbunny: Scorbunny!

Y/N, Riolu, Goh and Scorbunny took a ride on a flying taxi to Wyndon. When they arrived at the large city they made  their way to Wyndon stadium. 

At the stadium, there is massive crowd of people make entering it to see the World Coronation Series finals. Y/N took a few second to look in awe at the stadium then he and Riolu started running up the stairs.

Y/N: This gonna be awesome! I can't wait!

Goh: This is a great place to catch some Pokemon!

Y/N: The match is about start soon. Let's go in and find our seats!

Goh: You can go in without me. I'll be catching be out catch Pokemon.

Y/N quickly grabbed Goh's arm.

Y/N: Do that later! Come on!

Y/N dragged Goh up the steps and in the stadium. Once inside they saw that it was packed with hundreds of people. Y/N, Riolu, Goh, Scorbunny  find their seats and sat down. 

Y/N: Wow This whole place is packed.

Goh: Definitely way more people than I though there be.

???: Well yeah! The match decides who's the strongest trainer so naturally it would crowded!

Y/N and Goh looked to their right and person who spoke was a young boy. He looked like the some age as them, his purple hair and bright yellow eyes.

Purple haired boy: This your first time watching the World Coronation Series?

Y/N: Yeah. I heard of the World Coronation Series but this first time seeing a battle in person!

Goh: Same with me too.

Purple haired boy: Well you guys are in luck cuz your about see a battle that you'll never forget!

He extend his hand to Y/N and Goh to introduce himself.

Purple haired boy: I'm Hop from Postwick Town.

Y/N and Goh accepted Hop's handshake and introduced themselves to him.

Y/N: I'm Y/N from Twinleaf Town in Sinnoh and this my buddy Riolu.

Riolu: Riolu

Goh: I'm Goh from Vermilion City in Kanto and this my partner Scorbunny.

Scorbunny: Scorbunny!

Hop: Nice to meet ya!

After their introduction, the light in the stadium turn off and a colorful starts, signal that the match is about to begin.

Announcer: Welcome ladies and gentlemen! It's the moment you've all been waiting for! We're here to witness the most greatest, the spectacular Pokemon Battle in the world! This battle will determine who is the world's best trainer! Welcome to the World Coronation Series!

The stadium lights then turn back on and festive fireworks are being launch in the sky.

Announcer: Now let's meet our two finalist!

The spotlight shine on the left side of the battlefield revealing the first World Coronation finalist. Y/N was surprised to find out that one of the finalists is Lance.

Announcer: First up is the champion of the Kanto region and the leader of Kanto's Elite Four! I introduce to you... Lance!

Y/N: Lance is one of the finalist!

Goh: And he's representing the Kanto region!

Announcer: Lance is an expert Dragon type user and is a member of the Pokemon G-Men detective organization! A world-class trainer with world-class Pokemon!

After Lance introduction, the spotlight shined on the right side of the battlefield revealing second World Coronation finalist. A trainer with long purple hair and is wearing a cape. Y/N took a closer look at him and noticed he look similar to Hop.

Announcer: And now, I'm pleased to introduce our next finalist! The champion of the Galar Region who single handedly won the Galar league on his first try! One who has never tasted defeat! A trainer who has beaten every single challenger! The undefeated champion, Leon!

Hop: Alright! Win this Lee!

Y/N stared at Leon with a shocked and amazed look on his face. Heard that Leon is the Galar Region champion had never lost a single battle really peaked his interest. 

After the introduction, both champions stood on their sides of the field and faced each other. The referee enter the field riding on Aegislash to explain the rules.

Referee: The battle will be a single match. The battle is over when one side's Pokemon is unable to battle. 

Lance: I've seen your previous battles. I know that you're a trainer considerable skill. That's why I imagined you would be my opponent in the finals.

Leon: Same to you, Lance. I also was looking forward to face off against you. But the audience can be a bit cruel and they're expecting to see one of us to lose. But I love pushing through that fear because that way I can give it everything I got! It's the greatest feeling and I can't get enough of it!

Lance: You think you already won.

Leon: The reason I'm unbeatable is because I learn from every battle I see or take part in. And today, I'll learn... from my victory!

Lance: Then let's battle to determine who is stronger!

Referee: Please send out your Pokemon.

Leon throws has Poke Ball to send out his ace Pokemon, Charizard.

Leon: Let's go Charizard!

Charizard: Char!

 While Lance sends out his second strongest Pokemon, Gyarados.

Lance: Come forth Gyarados!

Gyarados: Roaring

A/N: In this story Lance's Gyarados isn't a shiny.

Y/N: Wow a Charizard!

Goh: And a Gyarados!

Leon: Let have a Champion Time!

The battle between Leon and Lance begins. Due to the type advantage Gyarados dominated the battle's first half. It overpowered Charizard's Flamethrower with Hyper Beam, blocked Air Slash by smacking some rocks off the battlefield and dodge another Flamethrower. Gyarados then raised it's attack strength  and speed using Dragon Dance, shrugged off a Flamethrower, and landed Aqua Tail and Ice Fang on Charizard. Charizard then retaliated by trapping Gyarados in Fire Spin and landed Thunder Punch, deal super effective damage. 

Y/N: Incredible! Gyarados may have the type advantage but Charizard is keeping up with it!

Goh: I looks like they're evenly matched.

Hop: I don't think so. Lee gonna win this match for sure! He still hasn't gone all out!

Y/N and Goh looked at Hop a little confused.

Y/N: What do you mean?

Hop: Just wait and see!

Back to the battle, Leon returns Charizard back to its Poke Ball and Lance did the same with Gyarados, surprising  Y/N and Goh. 

Lance: Gyarados ready! Dynamax go!

Lance activated his Dynamax band on his wrist. Then his grew large Poke Ball and sent Gyarados back on the field. Suddenly Gyarados started growing bigger giant sized and its body emitted a red energy, becoming Dynamax Gyarados. 

 Gyarados: Roaring

Leon: Now I'll show you Charizard's full power! Gigantamax!

Leon did the same and sent his Charizard back on the field. But when Charizard was Dynamaxing, it start transforming into its Gigantamax form.

Charizard: CHAR!

Y/N and Goh were flabbergasted see the giant sized Gigantamax Charizard and Dynamax Gyarados since this is their first time seeing Dynamax in person.

Goh: So this is Dynamaxing! The mysterious phenomenon Professor Cerise mentioned!

Y/N: And that form Charizard's in must be Gigantamax! That's so amazing!

Hop: Yep! And when Lee Gigantamax his Charizard, he's already won!

Continuing the battle, Dynamax Gyarados uses Max Geyser but Gigantamax Charizard counters by using Max Lighting, disrupting the Max Geyser and dealing massive damage on Gyarados. Gyarados followed up with Max Strike, which Charizard countered by using Max Airstream. The Max Airstream headed towards Gyarados and lands a direct hit. Charizard then attacked using its signature G-Max move, G-Max Wildfire.  Gyarados blocked the attack with Max Guard however as soon as Max Guard dissipates, G-Max Wildfire's secondary effect kicks in and engulfs Gyarados in flames dealing extra damage. After it was hit by the G-Max move, Gyarados revert back to its normal size and got knocked out!

Referee: Gyarados is unable to battle! The winner of this match is Leon!

Announcer: Leon has claimed victory Lance and his become the World Pokemon Champion!

The crowd cheered in excitement that Leon was declared the victory.

Y/N: That battle was so incredible!

Goh: I never seen a Pokemon battle Dynamax using before!

Hop: Right! I told you Lee would win! He allows does!

Y/N continued to looked at Leon and his Charizard with a smile. Hearing his undefeated battle record and seeing him win the World Coronation finals means that Leon is the without a doubt the strongest trainer in the world.

Later after the match, Lance is currently in locker room then heard a familiar voice.

Y/N: Hey Lance! It's been a while!

Y/N, Goh, Hop and their Pokemon walked in the locker room.

Lance: Y/N, it has been long time. It's good to see you again.

Hop: Again?!

Goh: Wait, Y/N you met Lance before!

Y/N: Yeah! A while back I went on a journey in the Johto region and won the Pokemon League. After took on the Elite Four, I battled Lance and won.

Goh and Hop widen their eyes in shock.

Goh: UHHH?! You defeated Lance!

Hop: But that means that you're the champion of the Johto region!

Y/N: Yep!

Lance: It's true. Y/N is the newest Johto League champion.

Goh and Hop looked at Y/N still surprised 

Y/N: So anyway, your battle was really cool! You must gotten a lot stronger to make it to the finals!

Lance: I previously went on a journey to the Galar region and trained at the Dragon type gym. But it seem I'll have to continue my training. It's a strange feeling. I not upset that I lost to Leon. It's the same feeling I had when we battled back in Johto. I feel happy that I got to witness the rise of a new Monarch.

Y/N: I know what you mean. Just watch you guys battle got me so fired up that I wanna battle him too.

Hop: Hey hold on! You might the champion of the Johto region but there's no way you're on the same level to challenge Lee. Besides I'm going to be the one to beat him someday.

Y/N: Is that right? You must be a really skilled trainer.

Hop: Sure am! And I'm gonna be the next Galar region champion! So if you wanna battle Lee you'll have to beat first!

Y/N: Ok let's battle Hop!

Outside the stadium, Y/N and Hop about to have a Pokemon battle while Goh watch from the sidelines.

Hop: Alright Y/N let have a one on one battle!

Y/N: That's fine with me! Let's do it!

Hop is the first one to call out his Pokemon.

Hop: Go Wooloo!

Y/N: A Wooloo?

Y/N took out his Rotom Phone to check the Pokedex.

Rotom Phone: Wooloo, the sheep Pokemon. A Normal type. Wooloo's tight curls of fleece provide a cushioning effect. It could fall from a high cliff and not be injured.

Y/N: Ok Treecko I choose you!

Y/N threw his Poke Ball and sent out Treecko.

Treecko: Treecko!

Goh: This could be interesting.

Both Pokemon got ready to battle and waited for their commands. Y/N and Goh were about to give their commands but suddenly the ground started shaking and they heard loud roar.

???: Coal!!

Goh: What's going on?!

Y/N: It sound like something huge is coming!

Hop: Wait! Could it be!

The loud stomping and roaring got closer. It revealed that the stomping and roaring is coming giant sized Pokemon, the three trainers looked at it in shock.

Hop: It's a Dynamax Pokemon!

As the journey continues...
