A rustle was heard in one part of the tall grass and Lianna entered the tall grass with Bellsprout. A wild Abra appeared! "Ooh!" Lianna called out, quickly using a Quick Ball. Abra went into the Quick Ball but broke out, then used Teleport and fled. "No! That's not what I wanted to happen, but of course it used Teleport!" Lianna called out, disappointed. Then suddenly, Lianna heard someone in the distance. "Go Pokéball!" Filia called out, catching a Pokémon. "Yay! I did it!" She called out in succession.

"Huh? Filia?" Lianna asked. "I did it!" Filia called out, sending the Pokémon she caught out. "Squirtle!" A Squirtle called out. "Cool! You caught a Squirtle!" Lianna said in awe. "Yep. I caught it just now and I was looking for a Water Type as well." Filia explained. "I tried and failed to catch an Abra. Did you see any other Squirtle around here? I could use one to complete the Dex." Lianna explained. "Yeah, just look around and you should find one." Filia replied. "Okay!" Lianna called out, searching the tall grass with Oddish. Soon a wild Squirtle appeared. "There it is! Use Stun Spore!" Lianna commanded. Oddish attempted to use Stun Spore but Squirtle got scared and used Water Gun at the Stun Spore.

Lianna sighed and looked at Squirtle sadly. "I'm sorry, Squirtle. I didn't mean to startle you..." Lianna said nervously. Squirtle was confused. Lianna slowly offered it a berry. Squirtle took the berry. "I'm Lianna, and this is Oddish. And I want to be, your friend." Lianna told Squirtle. Squirtle squirted Bubbles at her and laughed. Lianna laughed along with Squirtle. "Shall it be fine if I catch you?" Lianna asked it. Squirtle laughed at the bubbles, not paying attention. Lianna smiled at her. "You are one playful little Squirtle." Lianna said to her. Squirtle kept playing with the bubbles. "Oh! You caught one?" Filia asked. "Not yet, it's playing and I don't want to scare it." Lianna said, gently tapping Squirtle. Squirtle jumped in shock. "Excuse me, Squirtle, can I catch you please? I didn't mean to startle you..." Lianna said nervously. "Squirtle." Squirtle replied. "Just catch it." Ben instructed Lianna. "Hang on, Ben." Filia told Ben. "Huh?" Lianna asked. "It will say yes." Ben said. Squirtle agreed to go. "Told ya." Ben replied. "Great! Go Pokéball!" Lianna called out, using a Pokéball. Squirtle went into the ball and it clicked.

"We did it! I caught a Squirtle!" Lianna called out, sending out and scanning it. Squirtle came out of its ball and jumped into a nearby pond. "Squirtle is female and she knows the move Tackle, Tail Whip, Bubble and Water Gun." The Pokédex read. Lianna took out a white bow and put it onto Squirtle's head. Squirtle looked up at it. "I just need one last Kanto Starter, Charmander. They're my favorite." Lianna said happily. "Oh! You mean this?" Ben asked, sending out a Charmander. "Charmander!" Charmander called out. "You have a Charmander?" Lianna asked Ben. "That's right, it's really strong." Ben explained. "Cool!" Lianna called out. "Yeah, he gives me trouble when we battle." Filia explained. "Okay." Lianna replied. "Yeah. Ha ha." Filia laughed a bit. Lianna sends out her Ivysaur. Ivysaur was sent out of his ball. "Did your Bulbasaur evolve?" Filia asked. "Yes he has." Lianna replied. "Cool." Filia replied. Lianna started to pet Ivysaur. Ivysaur felt very happy. Lianna smiled. "Ivysaur likes that." Filia said happily. "Yes he does." Lianna responded. Filia smiled happily. "So Eevee, Oddish, Bellsprout. How would you like to help me find another wild Pokémon?" Lianna asked her three pals. The Pokémon all agreed happily. "Alright!" Lianna lead them into the tall grass. A rustle appeared in the tall grass and Lianna approached it.

A wild Venonat appeared! "Ooh! A Venonat!" Lianna called out. "Venonat." Venonat responded. "Oddish, use Stun Spore!" Lianna commanded. Oddish used Stun Spore, but Venonat used Protect and wasn't effected. "Try it again!" Lianna called out. Oddish does so, but Venonat used Psybeam, doing major damage. "Be careful!" Lianna cried out. Oddish tried to stand up, but she was confused. "How do I rid confusion?" Lianna asked confused. Oddish moved around, unsure what to do. "Eevee! Go in her place and use Quick Attack!" Lianna commanded. Eevee does so and slammed into Venonat. "Great job!" Lianna called out. "Vee." Eevee replied. "Do it again!" Lianna commanded. Eevee does so and weakened Venonat. Lianna used a Net Ball, which caught Venonat. "Yes!" Lianna called out in happiness. "Eevee!" Eevee announced. Lianna sent out Venonat. Venonat was sent out of its ball. Lianna scanned it with her Pokédex. "Venonat is male and he knows Psybeam, Tackle and Protect. "Hello there Venonat." Lianna said happily to him. "Veno. Nat." Venonat responded. "I have a lot of Pokémon. I might as well train you up against Mankey." Lianna replied. Venonat looked tired. "Oh yeah... well, I better train up Mankey and Weedle." Lianna replied. Venonat fell asleep.

Lianna healed up Venonat and sent out Mankey and Weedle. "Time to train you two up." Lianna explained. The Pokémon were sent out of their balls. "Okay! Weedle and Mankey! One on one!" Lianna called out. The Pokémon get ready to train. "Mankey, Low Sweep! Weedle, Poison Sting!" Lianna called out. The Pokémon used their moves but Poison Sting hits first. "Mankey, Leer! Weedle, Tackle!" Lianna commanded. The Pokémon used their moves but Mankey dodged instead of using Leer. "Good job! Mankey, Low Sweep! Weedle, dodge it!" Lianna commanded. The Pokémon act out the commands then suddenly, Mankey got hurt by poison. "Huh? How did you get Poisoned?" Lianna asked. "Weedle." Weedle said out loud. "What your ability?" Lianna asked, scanning Weedle. "Weedle's ability is Shield Dust. The cause of the poison was Poison Sting." The Pokédex read. "Oh. Anyway, use Poison Sting! And Mankey, dodge again!" Lianna commanded. Mankey was too distracted by the poison and Weedle used Sting Sting and landed a hit on Mankey. Lianna used an Antidote on Mankey. Mankey felt better. "Mankey!" He called, jumping for joy. "There you go. Use Low Sweep! Weedle, use Tackle!" Lianna commanded. The Pokémon use their moves and Low Sweep hits first. "Hang on, Weedle! Great job, Mankey! Use Scratch! And Weedle, try to Tackle!" Lianna commanded. Weedle's Tackle hits first this time. "Great job! Weedle, Poison Sting and Mankey, use Scratch!" Lianna instructed.

Suddenly, Weedle started to glow and change shape. Weedle was evolving. "Mankey! Look! Weedle is evolving!" Lianna called out. Mankey watched in awe. Weedle gained a hard shell coating around his body. Weedle has evolved into Kakuna. "Kakuna!" Lianna called out, gently hugging him. Kakuna felt happy. "You're one step closer to becoming a Beedrill." Lianna explained. "Kuna." Kakuna replied. "I wonder if you've learned Harden yet..." Lianna said to herself. Kakuna proceeded to use Harden. "Oh. You did." Lianna replied. "Kuna?" Kakuna asked in confusion. "You ready to train up against Bellsprout this time?" Lianna asked Kakuna, healing him up as well as Mankey. The Pokémon agreed and Mankey felt better. "Okay! Bellsprout! Ready to train again?" Lianna asked Bellsprout. "Sprout." Bellsprout replied. "Bellsprout, Vine Whip! Kakuna, Tackle!" Lianna commanded. Bellsprout used Vine Whip but Kakuna was confused by the command. "Huh? Kakuna?" Lianna asked. Kakuna looked at Lianna with a confused look. "Why can't you attack?" Lianna asked. "Because it can't use Tackle." Ben replied. "It could only know Harden?" Lianna asked. "What about what Kakuna knew as a Weedle?" Ben suggested. "Use Poison Sting!" Lianna commanded. Kakuna used it and it landed a hit on Bellsprout. "Great job! Bellsprout, use Acid!" Lianna commanded. Bellsprout used Acid and landed a hit on Kakuna. "Kakuna, Harden!" Lianna commanded. Kakuna used Harden, raising his defense. "Bellsprout, Vine Whip!" Lianna commanded. Bellsprout does so, but Vine Whip does little damage. "Kakuna, Poison Sting!" Lianna commanded. Kakuna used Poison Sting and landed another hit on Bellsprout.

Bellsprout then summoned leaves out of nowhere and threw them at Kakuna. Kakuna took damage. "I think that was a new move!" Lianna called out happily. "Bellsprout!" Bellsprout called out, jumping for joy. Lianna held up the Pokédex. "Bellsprout learned Razor Leaf." The Pokédex read. "I knew it." Lianna smiled knowing that her guess was correct. Bellsprout jumped for joy, then Kakuna started to glow again. He was evolving once more, for a final time! "Kakuna is evolving!" Lianna called out. Kakuna broke out of his shell into a new form, a giant bee with huge stingers on its arms and abdomen. "Drill!" Beedrill called out. Kakuna evolved into Beedrill. "Beedrill!" Lianna called out in happiness. "Drill." Beedrill replied. Lianna hugged him gently. Beedrill was feeling weird. "Huh?" Lianna asked. Beedrill then fell asleep. Lianna returned Beedrill back to his ball. "Let's go back to Spearow." Lianna responded.

The Pokémon agreed and Lianna and Eevee headed back to the Pokémon Center to check up on Spearow before the gym badge.
