Our heroes were now in Azalea Town

Jacob was right now training himself along with Quilava, crobat and heracross

Jacob: alright guys, are you ready for todays gym battle?

Heracross: to be honest I'm a little nervous about this

Jacob: don't worry buddy, you'll be fine

Heracross: you think so?

Jacob: I know so buddy, trust me your gonna do great

Heracross: thanks jacob

Jacob: anytime, what about you guys, are you ready?

Crobat: I am

Quilava: me too

Jacob: alright guys lets do this

Jacob called back Quilava and crobat as he and heracross went inside the gym

Small timeskip

Jacob and heracross were now inside the gym which looked like this

Jacob: alright, it looks like we have to take one of these spinarak platforms to get to the other side

Heracross: which one should we take?

Jaraja: leave that to me

Jaraja flew out of Jacob's body and began to examine the platforms, jaraja then flew back to jacob

Jaraja: take the one on the left

Jacob: got it

Jaraja went back into Jacob's body as jacob and heracross got into the left platform, the platform took them the middle path

Jacob: alright lets go

Small timeskip

Jacob and heracross were now at the next other half of the puzzle, they both hopped on the platform but inside of taking them to the middle path, the platform took them to the left side

Heracross: I don't think this is the right path

Jacob: your right, what do we do?

Heracross: hey look over there

Heracross and jacob saw a switch on the wall, unfortunately it was too high up for them to reach

Jacob: that switch can help us, but how are we gonna reach it

Jaraja then came out of Jacob's body

Jaraja: I think I might have an idea

Jacob: what is it?

Jaraja: well have recently been working on new techniques you can use and I have been working on one that can help you in this situation, let me show you

Jaraja went into jacob body

Jacob: alright, I do I have to do

Jaraja: direct some of your energy to your right arm

Jacob: alright

Jacob did just then, once he did that his right arm turned light blue as light blue aura came out of it

Jacob: woah

Jaraja: your arm is now completely made out of your energy, now reach your arm out towards the switch

Jacob: okay

Jacob held his arm out and once he did that, his arm then stretched like this

Jacob then pulled back his arm

Jacob: woah, my arm just stretched

Jaraja: that's right, this technique allows you to stretch any of your body parts to far distances, now try to flip the switch now

Jacob: okay

Jacob reached his arm out which then stretched all they was to the switch, jacob then grabbed the switch and pulled it, the switch changed direction of the path for the platform. Jacob then brought his arm back as it then turned back to it's normal color

Jacob: haha now this I like

Jaraja: yep, I call it the spirit stretch

Jacob: I like it now lets get going

Timeskip

After completing the puzzle, jacob and heracross were now walking around in a forest themed battlefield

Jacob: alright, here we are, now where is the gym leader

???: I'm here

Jacob: huh, who said that?

???: I'm up here

Jacob and heracross looked up and saw this guy in a tree

Bugsy

Bugsy: hi there

Jacob: umm hi

Bugsy: say are you that half pokemon guy

Jacob: yep that's me

Bugsy: wow, im actually bug fan of you, my names Bugsy, im the gym leader here

Jacob: well nice to meet you bugsy, umm why are you in a tree

Bugsy: oh I was doing some research on some bug pokemon, I spend a lot of time doing it

Jacob: oh okay, so um, do you think you can maybe get down so we can start battling

Bugsy: oh uhhh, can you help me with that, I'm actually kinda stuck up here?

Jacob: no problem

Jacob then summoned a pair of blue dragonfly wings on his back as he flew towards bugsy

Bugsy: you,you have incest wings

Jacob: yep, I also do the same to my tail

Jacob's tail transformed into a blue scorpion tail

Bugsy: wow, fascinating

Jacob: yep, now hop on to my back

Bugsy grabbed onto Jacob's back as he brought them to the ground, Bugsy got of as Jacob's wings disappeared and his tail turned back into his original form

Bugsy: thanks, now we start the battle

Jacob: alright it's fighting time

Small timeskip

The battle began, bugsy summoned spinarak while jacob chose quilava

Jacob: alright quilava, use tackle

Quilava ran towards spinarak

Bugsy: spinarak, use string shot

Spinarak shot out a long white string from his mouth, the string then hit a tree as spinarak swung towards the tree before quilava can hit him. Spinarak began to swing from tree to tree while quilava tried to keep up with him

Jacob: quilava use flamethrower

Quilava used flamethrower but spinarak dodged it by swinging towards another tree

Jaraja:(Jacob's mind) spinarak is too fast he's like this, tried to prevent him from swinging to another tree

Jacob:(mind) no problem

Jacob waited for spinarak to shoot out another string, spinarak then shot out one

Jacob: quilava use flamethrower now

Quilava used flamethrower which burned the string which caused spinarak to fall and land on his back

Bugsy: spinarak!

Jacob: now use flame wheel

Quilava used flame wheel and tackled into spinarak which knocked him out

Jacob: alright good job quilava

Jacob and bugsy then called back their pokemon as they then summoned their next pokemon, bugsy chose metapod while jacob chose crobat

Bugsy: alright metapod, use harden

Metapod glowed a greenish-whitish color and became as hard as steel

Bugsy: let's you get past metapod's defense now

Jacob: easy, crobat use haze

Bugsy: what!

Crobat released some black smoke from his mouth that covered up metapod, the smoke was able to get rid of the harden effect

Jacob: now use wing attack

Crobat flew down and hit metapod with his wings which knocked metapod out. Jacob and Bugsy then recalled their pokemon

Bugsy: alright, time to use my best pokemon

Bugsy summoned his scyther

Jacob: alright heracross, your up

Heracross: okay

Heracross got onto the battlefield and got into a fighting position

Bugsy: now this is more like it, a bug vs bug pokemon, let's see who has the better bug

Jacob: I agree, now let's begin, heracross use focus punch

Heracross arm glowed white as he flew towards scyther

Bugsy: scyther, dodge it

Scyther dodged the attack

Jacob: don't stop heracross, keep using focus punch

Heracross's other arm glowed white as he kept trying to hit scyther, but scyther kept dodging

Bugsy: scyther, fight back with fury cutter

Scyther clashed his blades with Heracross's arms

Both pokemon continued to exchange attacks

They both then flew back a few feet and then charged towards each other

They both crashed into each other, the impact send both heracross and scyther crashing to the ground which did a lot of damage to them, scyther got up first while heracross was struggling to get up

Jacob: come heracross, you can do it, don't give up?

Heracross began to slowly get back up

Bugsy: now's our chance, scyther use air slash

Scyther's scythes glowed light blue as he fired out multiple light-blue glowing energy blades that looked like saw discs

Heracross: oh no

Heracross was hit with a bunch of saw discs which did a lot of damage to him, when the attack was over, heracross was kneeling on the ground as he tried to get up

Jacob: heracross!

Heracross:(groaning) jacob...I don't think...I can go on

Jacob: yes you can heracross, you can win this, you just gotta believe in yourself, I believe in you buddy, you can do this

Heracross was shocked on how much faith jacob had in him

Jacob: now can you win this fight

Heracross: yes I can

Jacob: I can't hear you

Heracross:(louder) yes I can

Jacob: one more time

Heracross then punched the ground as he quickly got up and yelled

Heracross: YES...I...CANNNNN

Heracross was now more determined than ever

Heracross: I can do this, I will win this fight, I believe in myself

Jacob: yes you do buddy

Bugsy: wow your bond with heracross is incredible

Jacob: that's right, my bond with pokemon is unbreakable, and I will use that bond to win this fight

Bugsy: alright, let's do this, but first, scyther use your berry

Scyther pulled out a berry

Jacob: oh no you don't, heracross use thief

Heracross ran up and took the berry right before scyther could eat it

Bugsy: huh!

Jacob: nice try!

Heracross then ate the berry which recovered all of his health, heracross was now full of energy and determination

Heracross: alright, let's do this

Jacob: alright, heracross use bulk up repeatedly

Heracross kept using bulk up until his attack and defense were maxed up

Jacob: now heracross, use focus punch

Heracross ran towards scyther

Bugsy: scyther use fury cutter

Scyther flew towards heracross and tried to slash him, but heracross completely overpowered scyther and punched him in the stomach

Bugsy: what!

Jacob: now use stone edge

Heracross punched the ground which caused a bunch of pointed light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground as they rush towards scyther, the stone edge landed a critical hit on scyther and did a lot of damage to him

Bugsy: scyther!

Scyther was now struggling to stand up

Jacob: time to finish this, heracross use megahorn

Heracross flew towards scyther and rammed into him with his horn, the attack send scyther flying through a tree as he then crash into another tree as he fell down in defeat

Jacob: yes, you did it heracross, you won

Heracross: I did....I DID, YES, I DID IT, I WON

Heracross then flew towards jacob and tackled him to the ground

Heracross: I did it jacob, I won

Jacob: yes you did heracross, I'm very proud of you

Bugsy then walked towards them as jacob got up

Bugsy: amazing! I have never seen a heracross that's as powerful as yours

Jacob: thanks, well it looks like I won

Bugsy: yep, you may now receive the hive badge

Bugsy handed him the hive badge

Hive badge

Bugsy: take this TM as well

Bugsy then handed him a TM for the move fury cutter

Jacob: thanks Bugsy

Bugsy: your welcome, it was an honor to meet you jacob

Jacob: the pleasure is all mine Bugsy

Bugsy: good luck with the next gym, it's in goldenrod city

Jacob: thanks, good luck with the bug research

Bugsy: thanks

Jacob: come heracross

Heracross began to walk next to jacob as they went towards the exit

Heracross: hey jacob, can we go get some juice pls

Jacob: sure buddy, in fact, I'll let you have all the juice you want, you deserve it

Heracross: yay

They two of them then exited the building
