Our heroes were back in the forest, they decided to relax, right now, jacob, max and may were hiding behind a bush as they were watching a zigzagoon

Max:(loudly) wow, it's a zigzagoon!

May:(quietly) quite may, or else you'll scare it off

The zigzagoon then ran off

Jacob: like that

Max: hey, it wasn't my fault

Jacob: It's okay max, just try to keep it down a bit alright?

Max: okay

Just then they saw a group of Stantlers

Max: a stantler and it's fawns

May: how cool

Jacob: indeed

Small timeskip

The three of them returned to the other as max began to look at all of the pokemon

Max: there are so many pokemon in this forest

May: I know, I've never seen this many in one place before.

Jacob: I have, in fact I've seen a lot more, my world is filled with tons of pokemon, more than you could ever imagine

Brock: he's right, no matter where you look, you'll find a pokemon

Max then accidentally scared off a sudowoodo and some shroomishes

Max: hey, no wait

Jacob: careful max, don't get too max or else you'll scare them

Max: I know, but the real-life Pokemon out here seem so much bigger than the ones in books or on the Pokedex.

Jacob: indeed they are max

May: What's the big surprise? If you'd studied up, you'd know how big Pokemon are out here in the wild.

Max: (gasps) I have studied Pokemon, and I'll prove it. Zigzagoon like the one we saw at the river are 16 inches tall and weigh 39 pounds. Shroomish are 16 inches tall and weigh 10 pounds. And Sudowoodo are a Rock-Type and are 3 feet and 11 inches tall and weight 84 pounds. I know all their statistics, but they just still look different now that I'm seeing them in person for the first time.

Jacob: he's right you know

May: how?

Jacob: you see may, reading about pokemon is good, but seeing one up close is the best, you get to experience life with them, share moments with them and even become friends with them, it always feels good to be around pokemon

Max: exactly

Just then, the group heard some howling

Brock: huh?

May: what's that sound?

Jacob: I know that sound

Just then, three of these guys appeared in front of them

Mightyena: male

Max: woah, they're Mightyena

The Mightyens growled at them as may went behind jacob

May:(nervous) uh jacob, maybe you should take care of this!

Jacob:(sigh) I got this

Jacob then walked up to them

Mightyena 1: hey get back

Jacob: relax, we're not bad people

Mightyena 2: yeah right

Jacob: seriously we're not

Just then a Poochyena tackled jacob to the ground

Max: hey, a Poochyena, it must be with them

Jacob: oh god, why are you guys attacking us?

???: That's enough Poochyena

The team then saw this girl come towards them

Katrina

Poocheyna then got off of jacob and ran towards her

Katrina: Do you mind telling me what you're doing here? This entire area is a Pokemon preserve

Jacob: really? I guess that would explain why there's so many pokemon here, well we're sorry miss, we didn't know, we were just passing by

Jacob then got back and and once Katrina saw him, she blushed

Katrina:(mind) wow, this guy is cute (out loud) really, and where exactly are you guys off to

Jacob: Rustboro City

Katrina: I see, well that's okay, I didn't mean to sound suspicious, but we get poachers here sometimes, so I really have to be careful. I'm Katrina. I'm a ranger for this Pokemon preserve.

Jacob: nice to meet you Katrina, my names jacob and these are my friends

Just then brock ran in front of Katrina

Brock: (lovestruck) And my name's Brock, but you can call me....

Katrina: (groans nervous)

Brock: (lovestruck) Sweetheart. Or Romeo, or whichever you prefer.

Katrina: (feeling awkward) Um, wow.

Misty: not again

Brock: (lovestruck) It must have been fate that we would find each other here, Katrina. (The Mightyena trio and Poochyena growled mad at Brock) You're like a beautiful flower growing in the wild, and I'm...

Just then, the Mightyena trio and Poochyena charges and growled towards Brock

Brock: ow, hey no biting, ow, ow

Jacob: quick brock, curl up, make yourself look as small as possible

Timeskip

Katrina brought the team to the Preserve Center

Katrina: Welcome to the Preserve Center. This is where we nurse sick and injured Pokemon back to health.

They looked around as they saw a bunch of pokemon with bandages on them

May: I can't believe how many different Pokemon you're taking care of, Katrina.

Jacob then noticed a bandage Azurill

Jacob: Hey, what happened to this little guy?

Katrina: he got injured when it was lost in the woods, but it's almost better now

Brock: (lovestruck) You're great. You're the girl I've been looking for to work alongside and share my dream of caring for and healing Pokemon.

Katrina: You're a doctor? What kind?

Brock: (lovestruck) Well, all kinds: M.D., CD, DJ....

The poochyena then tackle brock down

Brock: not again!

Katrina: Poochyena!

Poochyena looked up and was nervous

Katrina: What kind of behavior is that, huh? (picks him up) Now no more tackling, or you get a time-out.

The Poochyena then whimpered

Brock: (lovestruck) She even knows how to scold beautifully.

Jacob: down brock, down,

Max: I bet that Poocheyna will evolve into a Mightyena soon.

Katrina: I'm not so sure.

Jacob: What do you mean?

Katrina: That Poochyena was born at the same time as those other three, but they all evolved into Mightyena together and that was a while ago.

Jacob: really?

Max: So this Poochyena is way behind schedule. I wonder why?

Katrina: Well, my guess is that its habit of using Tackle attack on everyone has kept it out of too many battles. But I wouldn't worry about it.

Max: why not?

Katrina: It's really not a problem, Max. When you've seen as many Pokemon as I have, you know that each one evolves at its own pace. And when the time is right, Poochyena will evolve, too. It's also possible that it may never evolve at all, and that's okay too.

Jacob: she's right max, pokemon should evolve when they feel like it and someone are better off stay in the form they are

Max: no it's not! Everybody knows when a Pokemon evolves, it gets much more powerful. That gives it advantage in battle and confidence to take care of itself. Poochyena, you want to become more powerful, right?

The poochyena was just confused

May:(mind) I have to admit, he makes evolving sound pretty good. Just imagine my Torchic evolved.

May's fantasy

May imagined her torchic evolving into a tall buff looking Torchic

Fantasy end

May: (groans awkward) Maybe not. Oh, I know. I'll check it on my Pokedex.

May check her Pokédex and found out that torchic evolves into Combusken

May: Well, that would be totally awesome, right?

Max: So a Combusken, huh?

May: Yeah, so?

Max: Well, you want a Combusken, and I want to see a Pokemon evolve. So give it a try. There must be something you can do to help Torchic evolve.

Jacob: Hold on a minute, you guys can't do that?

May and Max: why not?

Jacob: cause that's not how it works, you can't just make a pokemon evolve because you want it to, it has to gain experience through battling and even then it takes awhile

Max: (disappointed) Great. Why does stuff take so long?

Jacob: you just got to be patient max

Brock: I agree. Don't get all bummed out about it. If evolving Pokemon was quick and easy, it wouldn't be any fun anyway.

Jacob: exactly

Max: How so?

Jacob: Just think about it max, Pokemon only evolve after they've battled and traveled with you for a long time, all though winning and losing battle is a way to gain experience but getting to know your pokemon is the best part of the experience, right guys?

Jacob's pokemon agreed

May:(disappointed) well I guess I can forget about my Torchic evolving any time soon.

Jacob: don't worry may, torchic will evolve when he's ready, beside, not every pokemon evolves the same way

May: Are you saying there are different kinds of evolutions?

Jacob: yep, show em brock

Brock: With pleasure, When Poochyena evolves into Mightyena or Pineco evolves into Forretress, for both of them it's all the matter of the level they've reached. Other Pokemon such as Pikachu need one of a group of special stones to shape their evolution. Pikachu will only evolve into a Raichu if a ThunderStone is the one that's used. Probably the most famous Pokemon when it comes to the concept of branched evolution is Eevee.

Jacob: now eevee here has many different forms it can evolved into, it all just depends on what it uses to evolve

Jacob summoned his flareon, vaporeon, jolteon, umbreon and espeon

Jacob: you see may, the thunder stone will give you a jolteon, a fire stone will give you a flareon, a water stone will give you a vaporeon And depending on the skill of its trainer, it could also evolve into an Espeon or an Umbreon

Brock: So you see, what we call evolution can actually mean a lot of different things. Ready for the test? Define Pokemon evolution in an essay of 9,000 words.

Jacob: okay that's a bit much brock

Brock: (embarrassed) Just kidding, that's all for today, class.

May: Wow. Thank you guys.

Max: Yeah, I think I understand now. And since I know how cool it is, I'm even more determined to see a Pokemon evolve! Let's do it. It'll be really great. (laughs) Come on, May.

May: but max, didn't you hear what they told us? You can't make a Pokemon evolve just because you want it to.

Max: May, Why do you always have to be a big bummer when it's something that I want to do? All we need to do is give this Poochyena a little push, and it'll evolve.

Jacob: push, what do you mean push?

Max: well Since we know that Poochyena's friends have already evolved into Mightyena, and since all four of them were born at the same time, this one is obviously ready to evolve any minute now, and I don't want to miss it. We've just got to stay here till it happens, please.

Jacob: first off that's not how it works and second, we can't stay here for that long, we have to get to Rustboro city

Katrina: And remember, there's no guarantee it'll evolve soon, but I do have room if you want to stay here for a while.

Jacob: Well that's very kind of you Katrina but...

Brock: (lovestruck) We accept Katrina. I agree we should be together, and if you need any help with the housework.

Jacob: Seriously brock!?

Jacob then pushed brock out of the way

Jacob: sorry about him, you know what I guess we can stay for a little bit

Max: alright!

Max then picked up poochyena

Max: don't you worry. I'm gonna do everything I can to help you evolve, 'kay?

Poocheyna was confused

Max: You're gonna be a big Mightyena before you know it.

Jacob: Don't get your hopes up max

Timeskip

Jacob and max were now training the poochyena and with may's torchic, while this was happening, Katrina was staring at jacob while blushing

Katrina:(mind) why can't I get him out of my mind... am I in love

Brock began to walk towards her but he was chased away by the mightyenas

Back to jacob and max

Max: okay Poochyena. Try it once more.

Poochyena tackled Torchic which caused torchic to fall to the ground

Max: No, you used Tackle again. You've got to start using Bite instead, Poochyena. It does lots more damage.

Poochyena was shocked a bit

Jacob: max, I don't think this is working

Max: I will trust me, now poochyena, Try again, and use Bite this time

Poochyena jumped but used Tackle again

Max: No, not again

Torchic had enough and used ember, Torchic opened his mouth and shot out multiple round balls of fire at poochyena

The attack crisped poochyena as he fell down

Max: Hey, are you alright?

Torchic then used ember on max as he groaned and got crisped before collapsing down

Max:(groaning)

Jacob: You okay max?

Max: I'm okay, torchic! You used Ember. I thought we agreed that you weren't gonna use Ember attacks.

Torchic then ran off

Max: oh boy

Jacob: yeah this isn't working

Max: Say Jacob, can I borrow one of your pokemon?

May: don't do it jacob

May then walked up to them, max shivered a bit

Max: Uh...

May: He's gonna make them lose on purpose so that Poochyena will evolve, aren't you?

Jacob: seriously max, is that what you've been doing this whole time

Max: Yeah but how else can I get Poochyena to evolve?

Jacob: that's not how it works max and even if I did give you them, they won't lose on purpose, poochyena won't stand a chance

Max: fine, You don't want me to cheat. Don't worry, come on Poochyena

Max then began to run off as poochyena followed him

Jacob: Max, where are you going?

But it was too late, he was already gone

Jacob: and he's gone, well that was weird

May: Well, he's a weird kid

Just the Katrina appeared

Katrina: hey may, (looking at jacob and blushing) hey jacob, what's up

Jacob: not much, just watching max trying to evolve poochyena and failing at it, what about you

Katrina: well I found the in the Preserve

Katrina held out a piece of a net

Jacob: that's a piece of a net

Katrina: yep, it's part of a pokemon trap

Jacob: What, did you just say Pokemon trap?

Katrina: yep, and that can only mean one thing

Jacob: oh no, we got poochers on the loose, I better go warn max

Jacob then ran off as he looked for max

Timeskip

Jacob, bluey and his pokemon were no searching for max

Jacob:(yelling) max! Max! Where are you?! (Not yelling) oh god where is that kid

Jaraja: just use your spirit sensory

Jacob: oh yeah I forgot

Jacob used spirit sensory

Jacob was able to pinpoint max's location

Jacob: found him, let's go guys

Small timeskip

Jacob managed to find max but he found shocked him, he found max and poochyena trapped in a net along with some other pokemon

Jacob: max!

Max: jacob, thank goodness you're here

Jacob: max, what happened to you?

Max: we got trapped by some poachers

Jacob: What poachers?

???: us

Jacob turned and saw five poacher, the one in the middle was the boss

Boss: looks like we have another visitor boys

Jacob:(angry) poachers, what the hell are you doing here

Boss: oh nothing, just capturing pokemon that's all, though we didn't expect to capture a kid

Jacob:(angry) well guess what, your time here is up, release my friend and the pokemon now

Boss: oh sorry kid but that's not happening now why don't you hand me your pokemon and we'll let you go

Jacob:(angry) why don't you go to hell, cause the only thing i'm giving you is a beat down

???: so are we

Jacob turned and saw the rest of his team

Jacob: guys you came

Brock: yeah it took us awhile, but the mightyena were able to lead us here

Boss: looks like we're a bit outnumbered here, no matter, you'll still lose, boys, you know what to do

Poachers: roger

The poachers summoned their pokemon while Jacob's team summoned theirs

Boss: get em boys

Jacob: guys, take em out

Both sides charged towards as they began to fight, while fighting jacob noticed that the boss was getting away in a truck with max and the trapped pokemon

Jacob: hey!

Boss: so long suckers

He then sped off

Jacob: guys, they got max

May: what!

Jacob: don't worry, I'm going after him, stay here and take care of these guys, octillery come with me

Octillery: got it

Octillery got onto Jacob's head as he ran off towards the truck

Small timeskip

The boss was now laughing as he was driving away

boss: hahaha, i'm gonna be rich after this

Jacob: i don't think so

Boss: huh

The boss looked behind him and saw jacob catching up

Boss: oh great, now he's on the agenda, no matter

The boss pushed a button as a bunch of missiles were launched out of the truck and headed towards jacob

Jacob: octillery use sludge bomb

Octillery: on it

The sludge bomb was able to counter the missiles, soon jacob managed to get to the side of the truck as he began to bash it a bunch of times

Boss: hey, knock it off!

Jacob: never!

The truck then sped up

Boss: grr, let's see you get through this

He pressed another button that cause a bunch of oil to spill out of the truck

Jacob: pathetic, you think that'll stop us? Think again, octillery use ice beam

Octillery launched in ice beam that created an ice ramp in front of them

Jacob: hold on octillery

Jacob charged at it at full speed as he ran on the ramp and was sent flying over the oil as he landed back on the ground and kept running

Boss: Are you kidding me, what the hell are you?

Jacob: your worst nightmare

Jacob then got to the side of the truck and slammed it off the road as it crashed into a tree

Small timeskip

Jacob got to where the truck crashed as he saw the boss pulling out the net that held max and poochyena

Jacob: hey! Let them go!

The boss then looked at him

Boss: hahah not a chance you little shit, you already ruined my truck and now your gonna watch as I leave with your friend

Jacob: (angry) over my dead body!

Boss: fine then

Jacob: It's fighting time!

The boss summoned his Ursaring

Boss: ursaring, use focus blast

Ursaring put his hands together and created a light blue ball of energy. He then fired it at octillery

Jacob: octillery, use water pulse

Octillery opened his mouth as a blue ball formed in front of it, he then fired it at ursaring. Both attacks counted each other

Which one should hammer be or ursaring

Ursaring's forearm glowed white as he tried to punch octillery

Jacob: octillery dodge it

Octillery jumped into the air right before he could get it

Boss: ursaring use hammer arm again

Ursaring used hammer arm as he punch octillery while he was in the air and sent him flying

Jacob: octillery!

Octillery managed to safely land on a tree branch

Jacob: you okay octillery

Octillery: im fine

Boss: after it ursaring

Ursaring ran towards octillery

Jacob; octillery use ice beam

Octillery used ice beam as he froze the floor, once ursaring stepped on the ice, he slipped and fell and slid towards the tree, octillery jumped off the tree right before ursaring hit his head on it. Ursaring got back up and was now pissed as he let out as massive roar

Jacob: I think we might have pissed it off octillery

Octillery: no kidding

Boss: ursaring, use hammer arm

Ursaring used hammer arm and struck octillery hard

Does octillery know any healing moves

Jacob: octillery!

Octillery was now laying on the floor in pain as ursaring slowly walked up to him. Max and poochyena was watching this and couldn't stand it on bit

Max: this is bad, we have to help him, Poochyena remember what we worked on, use bite

Poocheyna just stood there confused

Max: Come on, Just bite through the net! If you do, you can save octillery and all your friends

Poochyena looked at octillery as it got cornered in a tree, this concerned Poochyena

Max: Bite it, Poochyena! Bite! You can do it! I believe in you

Poochyena finally listen and used bite as he bit through the next

Max: alright, you did it, now go help octillery

Poochyena ran towards them. Meanwhile urasring was now standing right in front of octillery

Boss: say goodbye to your octillery loser, ursaring use hammer arm

Ursaring was about to use hammer arm but suddenly, poochyena jump up and bit down on ursaring arm

Boss: what the...

Jacob: huh?

Max: jacob

Jacob and the boys noticed that max was free

Jacob: max!

Boss: huh, how did you get out

Jacob: now's my chance, octillery, use octazooka

Octillery formed a black ball of ink in front of his mouth, he then fired it at ursaring, the attack hit ursaring's face and blinded him, poochyena and octillery then ran away from him as he tried to wipe the ink off

Jacob: wow max, you managed to get poochyena to learn bite

Max: yeah, you did poochyena

Poochyena smiled

Jacob: like I said max, pokemon can be awesome even if they don't evolve

Max: yeah your right, sorry that I doubted you

Jacob: it's fine

Max: Poochyena I think you're a great Pokemon, whether you ever evolve or not.

Poochyena began to howl happily as he suddenly began to glow

Max:(gasp) huh, what's happening, why is it glowing

Jacob: Max, it's evolving!

Max: No way!

Poochyena evolved into mightyena

Max: awsome, it evolved!

Jacob: congratulations max

Just then ursaring got the ink off as he stared at them in anger

Boss: you may have evolved your pokemon but your still gonna lose

Jacob: I don't think so asshole, looks like we're gonna have to beat him together max, you know the other move mightyena knows

Max: of course

Jacob: then let's do this

Boss: ursaring use hammer arm

Ursaring ran towards them as he charged up a hammer arm

Max: mightyena use snarl

Mightyena released multiple purple and black rings of energy from his mouth at ursaring

The attack pushed ursaring back

Jacob: octillery use energy ball

Octillery launched an energy ball that struck ursaring

Boss: grr, focus blast

Ursaring launch a focus blast

Jacob: water pulse

Octillery counter it with water pulse which created a smoke cloud in the field

Max: mightyena use fire fang

Mightyena ran through the smoke as The inside of his mouth became covered in flames

He then jumped through the smoke and bit down on ursaring's arm which did a lot of damage to him

Jacob: fire blast

Octillery jumped into the air as he fired a blast of fire from his mouth that took the form of a 大 shape
at the ursaring

Mightyena jumped out of the way as the fire blast struck ursaring and did even more damage

Boss: grr enough! Ursaring use hyper beam

Ursaring fired out an orange beam of energy from his mouth

Max: mightyena, use hyper beam as well

An orange ball of energy appears in front of Mightyena's mouth as he fired it

Both hyper beams collided as they tried to overpower each other

Jacob: this is what I've waiting for, octillery, do your thing

Octillery: oh I'm gonna enjoy this

Octillery jumped into the air and he began to fall towards ursaring head first. He then got right in front of ursaring which shocked him

Octillery: so long Smokey

Jacob: now, octazooka

Octillery fired an orange blast of energy from his mouth at ursaring, the attack completely engulfed it

Boss: ursaring!

Ursaring smoked body fell to the ground knocked out

Jacob: max, look away

Max: okay

Max looked the other way as jacob then began to walked toward the boss in rage as he began to walk back from fear

Boss:(scared) uhh hey now let's talk about this, can't we work something out

Jacob:(angry) no

Jacob then slammed his fists together

Jacob:(angry) your dead

Boss:(pissing his pants) oh shit

Jacob then beat the living hell out of him

Boss: AAHHHHHHH

Timeskip

Meanwhile, the others were able to defeat the other poachers and tie them up

May:(worried) I hope max and jacob are okay

Brock: look, over there

They saw jacob and max coming back with a beaten up boss on mightyena backs, jacob then picked up the boss's body

Jacob: here we go, one heartless bastard

May: Language!

Jacob: it's not cursing if it's true, trust me there is no other word to describe him

Max: I agree

Brock: hey is that the poochyena

Jacob: yep, it evolved and it's all thank to max, he helped the little guy evolve

Katrina: wow, thank you guys for helping me

Jacob: no problem katrina, we were glad to help

Katrina: well then I guess it makes it easier for me to do this

Katrina suddenly kissed jacob as may look in shock, Brock was upset and max was just disgusted

May: WHAT!

Max: yuck

Brock: oh come on, not again

May and max: AGAIN!

Jacob: You love me do you?

Katrina: yes, I can't help it, your so cute and nice, I just couldn't resist, can I pls join you and your harem

May: HAREM!

Jacob: Wait, who told you about the harem?

Katrina: jessie

Jessie: yeah I might have bragged about it a bit in front of her

Jacob: I see, well katrina I'll be happy to have you join my harem and my journey

Katrina: yay, thank you

Jacob: no problem

They then kissed again as may just stared in shock

May: WHAT IS HAPPENING!?

Jacob: oh by the way, max I think mightyena wants to join you

Max: Really, (to mightyena) do you want to join me?

Mightyena nodded and licks Max

Max: Alright, awesome!

Jacob then handed max a pokeball as he successfully caught him

Max: alright my second pokemon

Jacob: congratulations max, now let's continue our journey

Everyone except may who was still in shock kept moving

May:(shocked).....

Jacob then pulled may along

Jacob:(dragging may) come on may
