Virgil POV

I grabbed onto the gutter after falling just out of view. I heard Roman scream in fear and I immediately smiled. I swiftly slid down, landing on the fire escape outside of my window. I had an idea, so I climbed in the window, grabbing a dark red towel, a tan blanket, and my black sweater. I threw the red towel off the escape, then the tan, then the sweatshirt. The result, from far away, looked like a mangled body lying in a pile of blood. I chuckled, waiting to hear Roman scream.

Roman POV

I was shaking, scared to look over the edge. Logan had a concerned look on his face, and Patton was still kneeling on the ground, covering his mouth with tears in his eyes. I turned to them after a moment "I-Is he really......?" Patton gave a defeated shrug and Logan replied "I'm not sure, Roman."

I nodded slowly, leaning over the edge. I saw a mash of red, beige, and black,in the shape of a body. I screamed, terrified. I guess I was too worried to notice that I wasn't even blind. I collapsed to the ground, sobbing. "I-I barely even knew him-m-m....." Patton rushed over, hugging me, and Logan followed soon after.

"Let me go look and see if he's still breathing." I stood, pulling away and walking down the fire escape. I reached the ground, sniffling, and found the bo- A Towel? And a blanket? Sweatshirt? I felt the frustration and anger building up inside of me until......."VIRGIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLL!!!!!"

Virgil POV

I heard sobs echoing from the roof and I felt a little bit bad....until I remembered how terrible he was. I smiled until... "VIRGIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLL!!!!!" . Oh no. He's totally gonna get me for this at school tomorrow. I started freaking out, so I called Janus and Remus, my only friends.

"Hey guys" I whimpered. "Oh god, what's wrong this time?" Asked Dee, rolling his eyes.

Remus actually looked concerned. "Yeah, you okay Vee? You look like you're gonna throw up!" I took a deep breath. "Well... y'know how you always tease me about liking Roman?" Remus perked up at the mention of his brother, and Janus smirked. "Yeah?" He asked. "Well..." I didn't know what to say, so it all came out jumbled.

"IwenttoapoetryclubmeetingandRomanwasthereandIthoughthewascuteandthenIsawcolorsandRomansmysoulmate!" I nearly yelled, getting it over with. You gotta do it. It's like ripping off a band-aid.

They stared at me for a moment, breaking down what I just said. Then, all of a sudden Remus cried "OH MY GODDDDDDD!!! REALLY?!" I nodded, grimacing, and Remus grinned. Janus smiled. "Ssssso, we were right." I quietly responded "yeah...". I knew he understood what I said, but he asked me to repeat it. "You're right!" I said. He grinned. "So good! It feels SO GOOD!"

I smiled at his excitement, happy to see him smile. He rarely did, if ever. "What happened next?" Remus implored. My face dropped. "I kinda sorta ran? And had a panic attack on my roof." I muttered. Janus sighed. "Are you okay now, Virge?" I nodded. "Yeah. Patton, Logan and Roman chased me down. Patton actually calmed me down a bit." I smiled at the memory.

Janus POV

I felt a cold sensation wash over me. Now that Roman was his soulmate, would he leave Remus and I alone? I looked at Remus' corner of the screen, only to see that he looked just as sad as me. Vee didn't notice, he was too busy smiling at nothing. I took another breath. "What else?"

Virgil looked up. "Oh." He frowned again. "I-Uh, I jumped off the roof because I thought they were gonna beat me up. I kinda slid down the gutter and threw a few red and tan towels to the ground. It looked like a body." Remus giggled. I rolled my eyes and motioned for Virgil to continue.

"Romans an idiot, so he didn't notice he wasn't blind. He ran down the stairs to 'save me' ," he made air quotes with his fingers. "And It was just a pile of towels. He's gonna kill me tomorrow." I shook my head at the same time as Remus nodded. "You're as good as dead!" Remus shouted over me as I stated "He won't. He's your soulmate now." We laughed and Virgil did too, nervously. "I hope you're right, Dee." He mumbled.
