3. Blackmailing

~~~ Like rain, like music - Baekhyun~~~
"W... what?" she stuttered. She was in too big of a shock to even understand the whole meaning of the short sentence he formed.
"You heard me," he dared to mock her, looking at her intensively, like he did when he watched her performance, just half an hour ago. How could she suddenly end up here in hall, with him saying stupid things?
"Are you insane?" she exclaimed, still not quite sure if what he said wasn't her hearing stuff.
"I'm perfectly fine, thank you very much. So what do you say?" he replied. She was thinking that he might be pranking her right now. She narrowed her eyes, stepping closer to him, so she could easily slap him across his face, if the situation, became more unmanageable.
"What do I say? That you are probably bored with your own life, so you seek amusement in making fun of ordinary people like me. That is what I am saying," she noticed how his eyes sparkled, while she was talking to him. The corners of his mouth twitched as he fought the urge to smirk at her again. She had to say, that this handsome person was learning quickly. She was sure, he restrained himself from provoking her, while she was in this fragile state.
"I'm completely serious with my offer, Dawn," he countered without hesitation this time. His eyes were burning with something, which automatically set her insides on fire. She had to look away from his gaze, because it made her confused.
"Why? I mean... how the hell you know my name?" she realized one thing, this guy knew stuff about her. Just few people knew her whole name, otherwise everyone always call her by her nickname. Dee was afraid, that he might know more. This made her want to run for her life, even more than before.
"I heard someone say it in the show room," he said quickly, but this time he didn't look in her eyes, instead he darted his sight on the tips of his shoes.
"Why, why do you want me as a trainee? That doesn't make any sense," she studied his flawless face. Oh, dang it, being just few minutes in his presence, will surely turn her into the insecure wreck.
"I have my reasons," he answered evasively. She snorted sarcastically.
"Okay, let's pretend I would say yes, do you seriously believe, I'd drop everything and just went with wherever you probably want me to go?" she exclaimed, being sure that he has some kind of mental issue.
"Every other girl would be going crazy at this point. It's a big opportunity and even bigger for a musician like you," he explained calmly. She lifted her eyebrows.
"Right, you are right in everything you just said. But, first of all, I'm not every other girl and secondly, I'm alright with things being the way they are," she stated in the same calm way, he did.  She was watching his expression fall down, frown forming on his handsome face.
"You are lying," he retorted quietly, giving her another intense look, like he knew what impact it has on people around, when he does that. Before she could drown in the chocolatey brown pools of his eyes, her savior - temper, kicked in.
"I'm not," Dee yelped, feeling her face getting bright red.  Why does it feel like he knows exactly, how miserable her life is? She hated it. She hated to be so exhausted every day. She hated to deal with the two other part time jobs, just to survive from one week to another. She hated not to have enough time to study, which led to her low grades and inadequate attendance.  She hated to live in awful share house, in the smallest box room ever. She hated to be on her own her entire life.
"I know you are lying into my face right now. You are not happy living, like this. Are you telling me you like the way your boss is treating you? You like the pay? You like to starve?" he tormented her without any guilt. His gaze was pure fury, making her to stop breathing for a moment. She could feel tears flooding her eyes threatening to reach the edge.
"Be quiet, you don't know anything about me! Just leave me alone, will you? Go your way and I will go mine. I'm not interested to take part in your insensitive game," she yelled at him this time, not being able to stop herself, even when her voice cracked half way through the sentence.
"You are being stupid right now," oh he has some temper too, she realized, when Baekhyun spouted all annoyed.
"Excuse me?" she wanted to kick him again so badly. Thankfully, she was rescued by person who approached them, while they had this little exchange of words. It looked like the tallest guy she ever saw in her life, was standing next to them, for quite a time now. His arms were folded on his chest, with focused expression in his face, looking between her and Baekhyun.
Baekhyun noticed third person too, suddenly relaxing his tense posture.
"Please continue, don't mind me," tall guy spoke in English, waving one of his hands, encouraging us to ignore him.
"Go away Chan," Baekhyun said to his friend. Dee focused on this Chan person, trying to remember which one from the nine people Eve described in detail, was this one. She could see his mesmerizing dark eyes, she studied his face, thinking how the hell he could be so perfect and then she stopped on his eye catching ears. Oh this is Master Joda!
"Why? You were fine the whole time I was watching your performance. So this girl is the reason you dragged us all the way here?" Joda's gaze ended up scanning her person, while she felt like a dwarf standing next to him. She looked back on Baekhyun, whose ears were suddenly red as tomatoes.
"Shut up and go!" he pushed Chan, but he didn't move an inch, still looking at her.
"What's your name, little one?" Chan spoke to her directly. She didn't like the fact, she was so short, but when he said those two words to her, it sounded so cute, that she couldn't resist the urge to return his smile.
"I'm Kim Dee," she introduced herself.
"I'm Park Chanyeol, wait a minute, aren't you the girl who performed not long ago?" it looked like Chanyeol was all eager to start conversation with her, but Baekhyun didn't let him or her to say anything.
"Why are you here, where are the others?" he growled, trying to kill member of his group with simple fierce look.
"Oh yeah, Suho sent me to pick you up, but seeing you too bickering made me forget it. There is too many people outside, we have to go and Jongin is hungry, he wants chicken," Chanyeol was easily distracted and that was her cue to get lost. She has to find Eve, kill her and then join her on the way home.
"You can go without me. I need to finish things up here," Baekhyun said, killing her hope for her easy escape.
"Suho said, not to come back without you," Chanyeol stated, winking at her.
"Aish!" Baekhyun murmured.
"Okay, I will be going. By the way, the best chicken is in Nando's," she gave them advice, ready to leave.
"Stay where you are and Chan tell Suho, I'm with you in a minute," Baekhyun stopped her in the middle of step with his firm voice. Chanyeol looked from his friend on her.
"I have the feeling I will be seeing you around more in the future. It was nice meeting you," he winked at her once again and then he turned around and went to find this Suho, they were talking about.
"What else you can possibly have left to tell me. I already told you, stop wasting your time..." she didn't dare to look at him again and he didn't move to be in her field of vision, staying where she left him.
"You are not giving me any other choice, than to do this," he said, after few seconds of silence. Her heartbeat sped up and she even didn't know yet what he meant by this statement.  "I said, that if you say yes to my offer, I'm not going to do anything about the little misunderstanding we had before, but if you feel like you want to keep living your damned life, be my guest," the shiver went down her spine, after hearing him utter the ultimate threat.
"This is shameless blackmailing," she had to turn to face him again, all furious.  His smirk was driving her crazy.
"That's right," he agreed, not even bothering to deny that. She opened her mouth in shock. "Let's see each other again," he performed the same freaking wink as Joda, turning around and leaving her standing there, astonished. She was stiffly staring into the space, until someone poked her arm.
"Dee, is someone at home?" she head Eve's voice. She focused on her face, seeing her blushed cheeks and gleaming eyes.
"Ah sorry..." she started and then she remembered who send that damn celebrity after her and glared at her friend. Guilt flashed through her expression. "I am seriously considering murdering you. My life is bad as it is, now it became a disaster," she complained as they were on the way home. Eve was constantly apologizing. It wasn't her fault really, Dee had a feeling that Baekhyun would have found her no matter what.
"So what did he want actually? When I came back in the show room, I went to them to ask how they liked the whole night. Their English skills really has improved, it was so nice to speak to them. I can't believe they choose this shitty club to..." Eve completely forgot about her question, while her fangirl meltdown and Dee was glad, she didn't have the guts to tell her about Bakehyun's proposal. Eve would tell her, what already went through her mind. This is opportunity that none can say no to.
If she had to be honest, she wavered for a second, while looking into his eyes. There was something too captivating, but then she snapped out of it, remembering that she can't say yes. Her heart hardened when she remember part of her past, thinking there is no way she can let Baekhyun persuade her into it.
"... they are really nice a friendly. I was utterly mesmerised. I hope we will be able to see them in the future. Apparently they are staying for another week in London for the promoting," Eve finished her daydreaming. She sincerely hoped, they won't be seeing them again. Or Baekhyun at least. After one week, this will be over and they will be back to their home country.
Oh how wrong she was.
Two days went by in a blink of an eye. She was currently in the coffee shop, where she was working as a barista. One of her part time jobs, which she didn't hate all that much. It was an ordinary day, she had to skip the Uni, so she could spend whole day here and earn more money. The rush hour just ended and she could rest a bit as there weren't many customers, when the doorbell ringed and the delivery man went in.
"Kim Iseul?" He asked, standing by the door with brown A4 envelop in his hands. She snapped her head up, alarmed. She waved her hand at him.
"I have delivery for you miss," he informed her when he came to the counter. "Sign here, please," when she did, he left and she opened the envelope, confused and sure she didn't order anything. She brought out the paperwork and read the contents of it, while getting angrier and angrier by every read word, until she reached the end, completely loosing it.
"That son of a bitch!" she snapped, bringing all the attention to her, not caring at all.
