_Fanfic_Writers_'s Report
Introduction
Poaching is the illegal taking of wild animals, fish, or plants. Poaching is horror in humans. Poaching is the destruction of nature. Poaching is destruction. I only have to state this, this saddening information.
And I hope you'll read this passage, and spread the news.
What Animals are POACHED, and WHAT FOR?
Lions, elephants, rhinos; tigers, monkeys, grizzly bears. What do they have in common? They are poached.
LIONS: the targeted poaching of lions for body parts – specifically teeth and claws.
ELEPHANTS: One of the main reasons that elephants are poached is because of their ivory. Despite the international ivory trade being banned, they are still being poached in large numbers. Their ivory tusks are used for ornaments, jewelry, billiards balls, piano keys, and other items that humans enjoy. Another reason elephants are being poached is for their skin and meat, this is most common in Asian elephants. Unfortunately, this is done at random and is used for medicinal products, jewelry, or furniture. Male, females, and calves are all in danger.
RHINOS: Rhinos are hunted and killed for their horns. The major demand for rhino horn is in Asia, where it is used in ornamental carvings and traditional medicine. Rhino horn is touted as a cure for hangovers, cancer, and impotence. Truly, rhino horn is as effective at curing cancer as chewing on your fingernails.
And seriously, I mean it! Your fingernails are made out of the SAME material as the rhino's horns. C'mon, just chew YOUR OWN fingernail, which is YOUR OWN, so you won't have to go through a process of killing to get something you own yourself.
PANDAS: The main reason why people poach a panda is for its skin. Since pandas are such rare animals their skin is treasured and can be sold for a lot of money. A panda skin was sold for $65,000 once! In addition to this, it isn't too hard to capture a panda from the wild. Not that I support catching it, though. Yes, you're asking me why people would poach a panda is for its skin. Since pandas are such rare animals their skin is treasured and can be sold for a lot of money. A panda skin was sold for $65,000 once! In addition to this, it isn't too hard to capture a panda from the wild.
GIRAFFES: Another surprise! Giraffes are poached for their meat in many regions of Africa — as well as for their pelts, bones, hair, and tails — by hunters and trappers wielding snares, guns, and other weapons. Giraffe hair is used to make jewelry, and giraffe tails are highly valued by some cultures. (Woah! I did NOT know that!)
TIGERS: Historically tigers were poached for furs. While there are still some sold illegally, increased public awareness campaigns and international trade controls have reduced this demand. Tigers may prey upon agricultural animals and have been illegally shot at or poisoned by consuming baited carcasses. However, tigers are mainly poached for their bones and other body parts which are in great demand for traditional Chinese medicines. Traditional Chinese medicines have utilized tiger bones for thousands of years because it is thought to calm fright and cure ulcers, bites, rheumatism, convulsions, and burns. Over 110 pharmaceutical factories in 1985 were producing medicines with tiger components. The value of tiger bone varies by locality. This high demand has made tiger bones more valuable than their skin.
PANGOLINS: Tens of thousands of pangolins are poached every year, killed for their scales for use in traditional Chinese medicine and for their meat, a delicacy among some ultra-wealthy in China and Vietnam. Now, you all, continue complaining I blame everything on Chinese medicine and stating that we are being (IDK) to Chinese. Surprise, surprise, Trix, my cousin, is a Chinese girl. My mother is Chinese. I can't help but write the truth.
GORILLAS: Now this isn't too much of a surprise if you read my recent reports about endangered animals; yes, Gorillas are on the list. Gorillas are poached for their meat. Some rich folks out there enjoy the bushmeat. People join in on the poaching because they'd get some income out of those rich folks.
Well, I've explained much and much. I hope this does help.
How to SHOW AWARENESS AGAINST POACHING
1. Donate to Anit-Poaching Organizations
2. Spread the Word. Start petitions.
3. Stick to certain products you know aren't from poaching.
4. Look carefully at the products you buy. Could they be made from poached animals?
5. Educate people about it.
6. Make posters and essays to post on the internet.
7. I'm running out of these suggestions. Just by doing the above, we can make a difference.

Conclusion
Overall, poaching is wrong because many endangered animals will become extinct, it affects the circle of life and is a huge waste of valuable meat. Next time someone thinks poaching is not our problem, remind them that poaching is more harmful than what they may think. Mention that endangered animals are struggling to survive and need our help. Inform them poaching messes with our environment and wastes a huge amount of meat. Poaching is an illegal and unkind act.
What are we doing? Destroying nature, the nature Mother Nature tried so hard to keep, so hard to create. The nature of Mother Earth was supposed to be protected, not destroyed.
