NXT Takeover XXXV was going live and the crowd was ready for the show, especially the main event of apocalyptic proportions along with the card:

Imperium (Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner) (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher - Tag team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship

Kushida (c) vs. Kyle O'Reilly vs. Adam Cole vs. Pete Dunne vs. Johnny Gargano - Fatal 5 Way match for the NXT North American Championship

Team Kick (Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox) vs. The Way (Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell) - Tag team match

Kairi Sane (c) vs. Io Shirai - Singles match for the NXT Women's Championship

"Shin" Kenji Cruz (c) vs. Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) - Singles match for the NXT Championship

The match for Kenji was personal as he doesn't forget what Kross did to his best friend Kushida, and it was a miracle for the Time Splitter to be able to compete and defend his North American title.

Kenji laid out his Shin attire as he sat down and has the thousand yard stare while Kushida gave him some encouragement.

Kushida: I'm fine Kenji-kun, just a little battered, but I can fight. I barely fazed Kross, but tonight it's your chance to avenge my loss

Kenji: as Shin

Kushida patted his friend's back and nodded.

Kushida: that's not the only thing you have to do, my friend

The Time Splitter said as he pointed at the small box containing the engagement ring.

Kenji: tonight is the night

Kushida: hai, good luck, I'm gonna go warm up

He left the Samurai's locker room to warm up for his fatal 5 way match while Kenji hid the engagement ring in the small pocket of his duffle bag.

As the NXT Tag Team title match was going on, Kairi sneaked inside Kenji's locker room and tiptoed while the Samurai was focusing on the screen. The Pirate Princess wrapped her arms around him and rubbed her body and chest buns on his back, making him blush and have chills on his spine.

Kenji: K-Kairi

Kairi giggled and jumped on his back to kiss on his neck, making him fall to his knees.

Kairi giggled and playfully said.

Kairi: that's right, kneel before the Pirate Princess

She got off and kneeled in front of Kenji to kiss him on the lips. The Samurai kissed her back and grabbed her by her treasure booty to bring her to the couch for a make out session.

Kenji's hands roam all over her body, especially on her thighs and booty, making Kairi smile and moan in pleasure. Then the Samurai went down to kiss her neck.

Kairi: K-Kenji-kun... hai...

The Samurai knew she has her match against Io later, so to be on a safe side, Kenji gave Kairi a small mark on the side of her neck.

Kairi blushed heavily as she felt the small tingly feeling on the side of his neck.

Kairi: good thing it can't be seen or Io will really tease me

Kenji smirked as he kissed her cheek. Then Kairi smirked and retaliates by kissing Kenji's neck as well.

Kenji: ohh K-Kairi

She smirked and blushed as the Pirate Princess heard Kenji moan her name. Then Kairi nibbled and marked his neck, leaving a small tingly mark on the side as well.

Kenji: p-payback huh?

Kairi giggled and nodded.

Kairi: hai

The couple cuddled with each other as they saw the ending to the NXT Tag Team title match.

The match ended as Thatcher took down Aichner with a big uppercut, and then locked in the Fujiwara Armbar while Ciampa took down Barthel with the Willow's Bell DDT. As Ciampa kicked out Barthel, Aichner tapped out to Thatcher and it was all over.

Announcer: here are your winners, and new NXT Tag Team Champions Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher!

Ciampa and Thatcher raised their newly won NXT Tag Team titles while the crowd cheered.

(Fatal 5 Way)

The next match was the fatal 5 way for the NXT North American Championship as Kushida has a tall task ahead defending against four worthy contenders. 

The Time Splitter used his beatdown from Kross as motivation in order to keep the North American title in his grasp. After entrances were made the match started.

As the bell rang, Kyle O'Reilly immediately went after Adam Cole while Kushida, Pete Dunne and Johnny Gargano went at it with combinations of punches and kicks.

(Minutes later)

As Dunne, Cole, O'Reilly and Gargano traded shots at ringside, Kushida went to the top turnbuckle and took the air with a suicide dive to ground all of his opponents.

Kushida was pumped up as he got Gargano and dragged him back into the ring for an early cover, but the leader of the Way kicked out.

As Kushida was focused on Johnny, Cole came back in the ring to attack the champion from behind. Cole got Kushida in a headlock while Kushida tried to escape from the hold. The lock was broken as the Bruiserweight came in and took down Cole with a German suplex.

O'Reilly came in but he missed a shot, only for Dunne to also take down Kyle with another German suplex.

(End of the match)

Dunne was doing his signature joint manipulation as he bent Gargano's fingers backwards. Johnny screamed in agony as he felt his fingers bent. However, Kyle came back in with a running knee to take down Dunne.

Kyle capitalized on the downed Dunne as he climbed to the top turnbuckle and nailed Pete with a diving knee drop.

As Kyle went for the pin, it was broken up by a superkick from Cole. Adam picked up Kyle and hits another superkick, making his former UE brother go on his knees. Cole then lowered his kneepad and took out O'Reilly with the Last Shot.

O'Reilly rolled to the outside and Cole tried to get him, but he was lured into a trap as Johnny launched and hits the One Final Beat.

Gargano rolled Cole to the center of the ring, and went for the pin, but Kushida came in and locked in the Hoverboard Lock tight. Cole tried to crawl, but the pain was too much and had no choice but to tap out as Kushida successfully retained his NXT North American title.

(Backstage)

Kenji clapped for his friend for a successful title defense.

Kenji: it seems his match against Kross let out a side of aggression I have never seen

Kairi: hai, that was a great match

Kenji: I agree

The next match was the women's tag team match as the reunion tour of Team Kick starts as best friends Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai goes against The Way's Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell.

The best friends had not lost a step after Tegan came back from her crucial knee injury that sidelined her for a year. 

The Way tried to use their dastardly heel tactics against the reunited Team Kick, but Dakota and Tegan worked together like a well oiled machine to counter each tactic. Tegan went Lady Kane mode as she took down both Candice and Indi to hell with a double chokeslam.

Dakota also proved that she too did not lost a step as King Kota unleashed her flurry of kicks on Indi.

The match ended with Dakota nailing Candice with the GTK followed by a Shiniest Wizard from Tegan for the pinfall win as the reunion of Team Kick continues with a victory.

The second to last match for Takeover XXXV is the NXT Women's title match as Stardom's top graduates battles for the top prize of NXT's women's division.

(Backstage)

Kairi was already in her gear, but to make it special, she has brought along her mask reminiscing her days at Stardom.

Also, Kairi brought along the Wonder of Stardom Championship to be part of her entrance, and it was green lit from Triple H and management.

Kenji was at catering and saw Kairi in her gear.

Kenji: Kairi, is that you?

Kairi: hai, it is me

Kenji: gome, I couldn't recognize you in that mask

Kairi giggled.

Kairi: you like my mask?

Kenji: yeah, you look kawaii in it

Kairi: aww arigato. Well time for me to go

Kenji: you and Io will tear the house down

He said as he kissed her on the lips while Kairi kissed her back. Then the Pirate Princess left for the ring.

(In the ring)

(Kairi vs. Io)

The crowd was chanting Stardom as they're ready for the Genius of the Sky and the Pirate Princess to throw down inside a WWE ring.

Given the history of the two women being under Stardom's Queen's Quest faction in Japan, Triple H has decided for one night that Io and Kairi will use their Stardom themes as confirmed by a deal between the WWE and the Joshi puroresu promotion.

The Genius of the Sky came out wearing her own mask along with her entrance robe with the World of Stardom Championship around her waist.

Hearing her Stardom theme and the title she held for more than a year made Io feel like she is back home in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The Genius of the Sky did her signature entrance and got in the ring. She removed her mask, robe and title and proceeded to do the splits in the ring to warm up.

After Io's theme faded, another theme played. The tone of it was obvious as the crowd and Io recognized it.

The Pirate Princess came out wearing her mask and entrance robe. She went to her treasure chest and slowly opens it to reveal the NXT Women's Title and the Wonder of Stardom Title. Kairi got both of the titles and put them on both of her shoulders as she walked down the ring.

As Kairi got in the ring, she raised the NXT Women's title, the championship that is up for grabs. The Pirate Princess handed the NXT Women's title to the referee as she and Io raised their Stardom titles.

After the announcer introduced both Superstars, the two women shook hands and the bell rang as the crowd cheered loud.

Kairi and Io locked up and fought in a test of strength with the Genius of the Sky winning and locking up Kairi with a side headlock.

Kairi pushed her to the ropes and went to the canvas as Io did her flips.

Kairi smirked and tried for an offense, but Io fired back with a dropkick followed by a kip up. The Pirate Princess held her cheek as she smirked and nodded since the two know each other so much.

Kairi managed to fire back with a kick to the gut followed by an axe kick on the back of Io's head. She went for an early pin, but Io kicked out at one.

(Minutes later)

Kairi attempted for a spear, but Io countered with a leg sweep, making the Pirate Princess tripped to the middle rope. Io took the opportunity to nail Kairi with a 619, paying homage to her inspiration and idol, Rey Mysterio.

Io went for the cover, but Kairi managed to kick out at two.

The Genius of the Sky went to the corner and was setting up Kairi for a huge dropkick. However, as she lunged, Kairi fired back with a huge spear.

The Pirate Princess climbed to the top turnbuckle and hits the Insane Elbow on her best friend. But as Kairi went for the cover, Io somehow kicked out at two, much to the shock of the champion.

Kairi went to the top turnbuckle and waited for Io to get up. As the Genius of the Sky stood back up, Kairi jumped, but Io countered with a jumping dropkick. She then took advantage and locked Kairi in the cross face. The Pirate Princess tried to shift her body to get to the bottom rope, but couldn't reach for it. However, she fought out of it by rolling over for a pin, but Io kicked out.

(Minutes later)

Kairi took down Io with her spinning backfist. She then climbed to the top turnbuckle, and nails the Genius of the Sky with the Insane Elbow. The Pirate Princess went for the pin, but somehow Io kicked out at 2.99, much to the shock of the crowd and Kairi.

Due to the fatigue, Kairi and Io slowly got back to their feet while their legs were wobbling. The two touched their foreheads and then traded punches as they tried to knock one of the other down.

Io landed some forearms to make Kairi go to the ropes, she landed another 619 kick. Then the Genius of the Sky went to the top turnbuckle and then hits her Asai Moonsault on the champion.

As Io went for the pinfall, Kairi also somehow managed to kick out at the count of 2.99.

Io went for another moonsault, but Kairi rolled out of the way to avoid it. The Pirate Princess got up and took down Io with another spear. She then climbed to the top turnbuckle and hits another Insane Elbow for the pinfall victory.

Kairi's theme played as her and Io laid in the ring from exhaustion while the crowd stood up and clapped for an amazing match.

The Pirate Princess got on her knees and helped her best friend to her knees as well. The two Stardom graduates bowed to each other and hugged as they got to their feet. Kairi was handed her NXT Women's title as Io raised her arm in sportsmanship.

(Backstage)

As Kairi and Io walked to the gorilla, they were met with applause from the management, especially from Triple H and NXT general manager William Regal. As the two girls continued to walk, they were met by Kenji and Kushida as the two gave them hugs for an amazing 5 star worthy match. 

Kenji gave his girlfriend a loving kiss on her lips, which made Kairi smile as she kissed him back.

Kenji: that was an amazing match babe

Kairi: arigato, now it's your turn

Kenji: I'll do it for us

Kairi smiled as the two hugged.

(Minutes later)

(Shin Kenji vs. Kross aka Godzilla vs. Kross)

Kenji was now in Shin mode as he has activated his Godzilla-like alter-ego with his scaly textured attire and his purple eye contacts.

The Shin Samurai left his locker room and went to the gorilla to wait for his cue.

The screen was black and white the Herald of Doomsday and the Smoke Show made their dark and apocalyptic entrance.

After a few minutes, the arena went dark, and then bright purple lights shined on the stage as Shin Kenji's theme played.

The Shin Samurai and NXT Champion ascended from under the stage while he was surrounded by fog. Kenji opened his purple eyes and stared down at Kross.

Kenji walked down the ramp and got in the ring while a purple spotlight shined down on him.

Kenji and Kross stared daggers at each other as the referee raised the NXT title and called for the bell to ring. The crowd were excited as they saw the match like Godzilla going up against the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

The two ran at each other and locked up like two raging bulls wanting to tear each other apart. The two had an intense test of strength as the two screamed at each other's faces.

Kenji unleashed some early offense as he took down Kross with a clothesline, but Kross got back up as he screamed and gritted his teeth. Shin Kenji did not show any fear as he fired some rapid punches to somehow faze the Herald of Doomsday.

(Minutes later)

Kenji missed a right hand, giving Kross the opportunity to hit a Doomsday Saito on the Shin Samurai; however, Kenji slowly got back up and screamed his battle cry as the impact of the Saito did not affect Kenji. Kross got Kenji and hits another Saito, but the champion did not show any pain from the move.

Kross tried to get him, but Kenji got him by the throat and hits a chokeslam on the Herald of Doomsday. Kenji went for an early pin, only for Karrion to kick out.

(Minutes later)

Kenji sent the challenger over the top rope to separate himself for the time being. Then the Shin Samurai went to the top turnbuckle and took down Kross with the Rodan Roll; instead of screaming in pain, Kenji was laughing it off as he got up and threw Kross back in the ring much to the fear of Scarlett.

Kenji was setting Kross up for Gojira, but the challenger powered up with a back body drop. He then picked up Kenji for a Northern Lights suplex. Kross then took down Kenji with a third Doomsday Saito. He then went for the pin, but the champion kicked out at two and a half.

(Minutes later)

Kenji nailed Kross with Gojira, but as he went for the pin, Kross managed to kick out at 2, much to the shock of the champion.

The two then butted heads as they stared daggers while they gritted their teeth. Then the two ran to the ropes and a collision occurred as they took each other down with a clothesline.

As the two got on their knees, Kross took the chance to lock in the Kross Jacket and then added the grapevine for more pressure using his legs. Kenji was struggling to reach for the ropes, but then he rolled on his stomach and slowly got on his knees using his strength. The crowd cheered loud as Kenji was on his feet while Kross still had the submission on.

Kenji backed up to the turnbuckle to break the hold.

(End of match)

Kenji nailed another Gojira and stared down at the laid out challenger. The Shin Samurai stood over Kross and picked him up exactly how Kross did to Kushida. Kenji stared down at Scarlett and then locked in the Ghidorah.

Kenji: look at it! Look at it!

Kenji locked in the Ghidorah tight as Kross slowly faded and passed out, forcing the referee to call for the bell as Kenji won via technical submission.

(Backstage)

Kenji walked to his locker room and was greeted by Kairi who ran and jumped into his arms for a loving kiss.

Kairi: that was a great match, Kenji-kun

Kenji: arigato, my love

The Pirate Princess smiled and kissed him before letting him go to wash up.

(Minutes later)

With his match finished, Kenji has one more important thing to do. The Samurai put on his casual clothes and got the engagement ring from his bag. As he walked out of his locker room, he was met by Kushida, Io and Dakota.

Kenji: it's time guys

Io: we got our phones ready

Kenji: where is she?

Dakota: she's at catering, we told her to wait for us there

Kenji: alright, let's do this

The three friends got their phones out and started to record as they follow Kenji to the catering area.

Kenji found Kairi talking with Tegan.

Tegan: oooh look Kairi

Kairi: hmm?

She turned around to see Kenji with a smile on his face.

Kairi: Kenji-kun?

Kenji had some tears running down his face as he talked.

Kenji: Kairi-san, ever since we confessed to each other, you were the happiest thing that ever happened to me. Your cute smile and adorable personality always lights up my day

Kairi smiled while their friends recorded every second of it.

Kenji: tonight is the perfect night for me to ask you this

The Samurai said as he took out the box and got down on one knee while Kairi's eyes widen and she put her hands over her mouth as she tearfully smiled. Kenji opened the box and revealed the ring and popped the question.

Kenji: Kairi-san, my love, my Princess, will you marry me?

Kairi nodded as happy tears fell from her eyes.

Kairi: hai! Yes Kenji-kun!

Kenji smiled and put the ring in her finger and got up to hug and kiss her while everyone around them who were watching clapped and cheered for them, especially from Io, Dakota, Tegan and Kushida.

Io: congratulations, Kairi-san!

Kushida: we're very happy for you two!

Dakota: cuties!

Tegan: you two are adorable!

The friends took pictures with the now engaged couple of Kairi Sane and Kenji Cruz. 

(An hour later)

In their hotel room, the couple were in bed making out as they celebrated their huge victories of their matches.

Kairi: now, let's really celebrate...

She then whispered seductively in his ear.

Kairi: ...otto

Kenji blushed from Kairi as she referred to him as her husband. The two made out with each other as their clothing were removed from their bodies, leaving them bare. The engaged couple celebrated the rest of the night as they made love to each other.
