One week after WarGames, NXT GM William Regal announced a mixed tag team match for tonight's main event; NXT Champion Adam Cole and NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler takes on Kenji Cruz and Kairi Sane.

In the locker room, Kenji wasn't a bit too pumped for the match as he wanted to go after the NXT Tag titles with Kushida. Tommaso came in to the Samurai's locker room.

Tommaso: you know how much I want Goldie back, and I can see how disappointed you are

Kenji: I'm aware of your situation; you had to relinquish your NXT title due to injury, and since you returned, your eyes were set on it and I had my sight set on the tag titles

Tommaso: you took the win for our team with that high risk corkscrew move; if I did that, I might injure my neck again

Kenji: what are you saying?

Tommaso: you pinned Adam Cole, the NXT Champion; which may put in a line for a title shot

Kenji sighed and shook his head.

Tommaso: look; Johnny and I planned to reunite #DIY and pursue the tag titles; look man, you have a bright future ahead in your NXT career and you made a name for yourself at WarGames, so it's only right that you have an opportunity

The Black Heart held his hand out; the Samurai nodded and shook Tommaso's hand as he patted his back.

Tommaso: it's your time to break the Undisputed Era's prophecy

Kenji: thank you

The Black Heart nodded and left the locker room for the Samurai to focus on his mixed tag match tonight.

As he went back to stretching and shadow boxing; he heard another knock on the door.

Kenji: who is it?

No answer from the person. Kenji went back to working out, but heard another knock.

Kenji: the door is open, you can come in

He was now confused, so he went to open the door. As he opened it, he was ambushed and attacked by his cute and beautiful Pirate Princess girlfriend with kisses all over.

Kenji: well hello to you too

He carried Kairi to the couch and sat down, but the Pirate Princess didn't release her grip. She clung onto him like a spider monkey.

Kairi: I'm teaming up with you!

She smiled and snuggled her head into his shoulder.

Kenji: I'm excited too, and we're facing the champions

Kairi placed her hands on Kenji's cheeks. A cute smile was plastered on her face.

Kenji: what's with the cute smile?

Kairi put her finger over his mouth to quiet him.

Kairi: shh, don't talk just enjoy

She giggled and leaned in close to Kenji's face before connecting their lips. Their innocent kiss turned into a heated make out session. Kairi went down kissing on the Samurai's neck while Kenji put his hand underneath her shirt. The Pirate Princess pulled back all blushing and giggling.

Kairi: oh, someone is getting frisky

Kenji had a mischievous smirk on his face.

Kenji: as much as I want to do this; we're putting our jobs on the line because we're in public

Kairi smiled and then whispered in his ear.

Kairi: how about after our match, we go back to your room and continue from there?

Kenji shivered which made Kairi laugh.

(Time skip)

NXT went live and the opening match showcased a non-title match between Kushida and the NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong which ended with an upset victory as the Time Splitter made the Messiah of the Backbreaker tap out.

The next match was a non-title tag team match between the reunited team of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, also known as #DIY and the NXT Tag Team Champions Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly. #DIY did not lost a step as they put up a fight against the champions and Gargano & Ciampa taking the victory following a Meeting in the Middle to the Undisputed Era's air guitar guru.

The main event was next and the NXT Champion Adam Cole has huge chips on his shoulders, one being WarGames and the other being his fellow UE brothers losses tonight, but he felt confident as his partner was the NXT Women's Champion, the Queen of Spades Shayna Baszler.

Cole and Baszler made their entrances and were now waiting for the respective people that pinned them at WarGames.

(Backstage)

Kairi and Kenji were now physically and mentally ready for their hard hitting match.

Kenji: your pirate hat is so cute

Kairi: I like your Godzilla designed entrance jacket

Kenji: if Godzilla meet you, he'll fall to his knees because of your irresistible cuteness

Kairi giggled. Then her theme played.

Kairi: I have to go, I'll see you out there

The two kissed before Kairi left to the ring.

(In the ring)

The Pirate Princess performed her cute signature entrance as she stared daggers at the woman she pinned at WarGames. Kairi walked down the ramp and stood at ringside. 

Kenji's theme played and out came the Pinoy Samurai and Godzilla fanatic, the same man who had the highlight reel at WarGames which was his Rodan Roll from the top of the WarGames structure.

As he walked the ring, he smirked at the Panama City Playboy. Kenji stood side by side with Kairi and the two fan favorites entered the ring to stare down at their adversaries. The bell rang and the ones who started off were the women. 

A rivalry was renewed as Kairi and Shayna started trading rapid punches. Kairi fired rapid combination of punches and kicks. The Pirate Princess backed up the Queen of Spades in the corner, but the referee had to pull her back to avoid a disqualification.

Cole tagged himself in and called out the Samurai. Kenji went in and clothesline the NXT Champion. Adam rolled out the ring to regroup with Shayna while Kairi and Kenji were all fired up.

The NXT Champion measured the Samurai and nailed Kenji with the Panama Sunrise, but to the NXT Champion's horror, the Pinoy Samurai went back on his feet with a look of rage on his face. Cole tried to escape, but Kenji grabbed him and set him up for Gojira.

Shayna tried to interfere, but she was taken out by a spear from Kairi. Then Kenji hit Gojira on the NXT Champion, pinning him for the second time.

Kairi went in the ring and jumped into Kenji's arms as the couple celebrated. They gave the NXT Universe a shocking surprise by kissing in the middle of the ring.

(Backstage)

Kairi rode on Kenji's back for a piggyback ride as they celebrated their huge victory.

Kairi: we won!

Kenji: guaranteed future title shots for the both of us!

Kairi: I still can't believe that Adam's Panama Sunrise didn't even have effects on you

Kenji: Cole triggered something in my mental state

Kairi: is it something like Finn's Demon King?

Kenji: sort of in a way

Kairi: ooh, is your alter ego Godzilla related?

Kenji: maybe...

Kairi: tell me tell me!

Kenji smiled and giggled.

Kenji: not gonna spoil the surprise

Kairi had a cute pout on her face. Kenji giggled and kissed her forehead which turned Kairi's pout into a blushing smile.

The two washed up and drove back to the Samurai's hotel room. As the door closed, Kairi couldn't get her hands off her boyfriend.

The Pirate Princess ordered the Samurai to get in the bed and Kenji followed her order. He laid in bed and watched as Kairi seductively crawled onto the bed and got on top of Kenji. She lunged in and kissed him with equal force and passion. Kairi inserted her tongue into his mouth as the Samurai's hands roamed over her body.

Kairi then went down and trailed kisses from his cheek to his neck. She moaned with pleasure as she felt his hands on her bottom. Kenji massaged and squeezed her bottom.

After a heated and loving make out session. The two cuddled together in their arms.

Kairi: imagine you and me as champions

Kenji: both of us at the top

Kairi: I need to get my treasure chest ready; a pirate and her booty

Kenji: well I got my booty

He grabbed and squeezed her bottom making her squeal and blush.

Kairi: I love you so much

Kenji: I love you too

She snuggled into his chest and the Samurai kissed the top of her head as the couple fell asleep.
