The lights stayed on and Rey opened one eye to see what was going on with him.

"Why are you doing this ?" He asked.

"What?" Rey wondered sitting up.

"You're ... ugh Rey ! Just because your life is gonna suck doesn't mean I have to sleep in an arm chair to you can feel better about your life !"

"Ben remember who you're talking to-" she began getting out of bed.

"Rey I'm a person and so are you. I could very well leave you on this damn planet and go on my way ! Leave you to scavenge for food and -"

"No !" She yelled "please don't ! I'll stop I swear please" she begged, her eyes watery .

"Then quit acting like you're so high and mighty ruler ... you're 19 not 90!" He said .

She shrunk onto the bed, pulling her knees up to her chest and holding on as tight as possible.

"Whatever ! I'm going-" he said walking to the door when Rey broke out in a loud sob.

He turned to see her cowardly sitting in a corner of the bed "Rey?" Ben walked to her and sat down next to her .

"Why are you crying?" He asked gently tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"It's just... I was left" she said looking down at her bare feet.

"Left ?" He asked with his eyes focused on her.

"There was a battle on Jakku... and I was left from the time I was five to fifteen alone in the desert of Jakku... that's when my parents died" she whispered .

"I don't -"

"I had to scavenge for parts to sell to a junk boss named Unkatr Plutt... it would trade it for portions and I could barley have enough to eat. Hungry happened every day ... I was lonely and scared and hungry and I didn't know when or if I would ever be found" she recalled a single tear running down her face .

Ben wiped the tear away with this index finger and then wrapped his large arms around her .

She sobbed into his shoulder and he gently stroked her hair with one hand and rubbed her back warmly with the other .

"It's okay" he said "I won't leave you here ... no one will ever leave you again"

"How can I trust you?" She asked with a broken voice .

"You have to" he said and kissed the crown of her head.

He could smell the sweet scent she used as shampoo as his lips lingered on her chestnut colored hair.

The shaking from her sobs had faded and turned into her struggling to curl to him closer.

Rey's salty tears seeped through Ben's shoulder sleeve and he didn't care.

Seeing such a strong woman break down like this broke his own heart.

Rey is so full of life and now she was acting like darkness itself, she recalled the horrible things and left him feeling uneasy inside .

Rey looked up at him, his own eyes were watery and his cheek flushed .

Ben took a moment to examine her face, her hair was messy and her face was red. Her hazel eyes were watery and puffy but she looked beautiful nonetheless.

He gently let his hand from her hair fall down to her hip, lightly touching her arm and sides .

She bite her lip and then sat up a bit, gently pulling on Ben's shirt to bring him closer to her.

She pressed her lips to his softly, his hands instantly tightening in his grip of her curves .

It was the most chase kiss ever, no tongues , no hands moving in and out of hair or up and down skin.

Just their lips together, eyes shut and bodies pressed together warmly . It was perfect.
