Chapter 6 Yes, You Go Girl
Marinette's POV:
Marinette shrugs her shoulders. She knows it has been a day since she first met Tikki. She opens her sketchbook and thinks that is strange, where is the sketch I did of Tikki the other day? She notices it is gone so she thinks it is part of her imagination.
"Yes, that is it, I just imagined her," Marinette says to herself. She gets ready for the day and smiles.
Marinette looks at the flats and shakes her head. She steps into a pair of sandals instead. She recalls having a dream that these shoes are better for her feet.
"Wow, I must say that looks nice, and the shoes give it a great touch," Tikki says.
"Ah, what are you doing here?" Marinette asks.
Tikki's POV:
Tikki smiles at her and chuckles. "Relax, I followed you home the other day," Tikki says.
"Besides, as you might recall I am assigned to help you," Tikki explains.
Tikki can see Marinette is surprised to see her. She can see why considering the young lady did sleep later than most people. She will not judge her for it since she is on a mission.
"Now, I know you are thinking yesterday was a dream, but I assure you it was very real," Tikki states.
"Oh, and one more thing the sketch is not it there because kwami's can not be seen by just anyone," Tikki remarks.
Tikki watches as Marinette brushes her hair and fixes it back into her signature pigtails. She thinks this girl could use some fashion help. She wonders how it is this person could be a suitable match for Adrien. Then, again who is she to question Master Fu's orders?
Marinette's POV:
Marinette finishes with her hair, then turns to Tikki. "I suppose since you are right about the shoes maybe you are right about Adrien too," She says with a sigh.
"I will just have to go up to the gate and ring the doorbell this time," Marinette remarks.
She sees Tikki nod her head in approval so she figures she must be on the right track.
Marinette grabs her purse, places the sketchbook inside it, and walks out the door. She locks it before she gets too far. Now, she walks to the Agreste mansion, arrives there sooner than she thought, and sees the huge gate before her eyes.
"Oh, I do not know about this Tikki," Marinette begins to say.
Tikki's POV:
Tikki shakes her red locks in dismay. She can sense the fear and hesitation in Marinette's voice. She thinks of all the people I get for this job and it is her.
"Come, on girl, you can do this, just ring the doorbell, Marinette," Tikki says. She gives Marinette a small, gentle shove towards it.
Tikki watches to see what happens she thinks it is now or never, Marinette. She grins and gives her a thumbs-up as Marinette reaches out and presses her finger against the bell. She thinks so far so good.
"Wow, you did it, yes!" Tikki squeals.
Tikki hides as a voice comes over the speaker system.
Marinette's POV:
"Hi, this is Marinette, and I came to speak to Adrien," Marinette says.
Marinette thinks great why did I go and say my name like this anyway. She wishes she would have run when she had the chance. Now, there is no turning back now. She is gone and rang the doorbell and spoken into the voice box outside too.
She stands there unsure how to proceed when she sees the gate swing open. She looks at in amazement. She appears to be stuck to the spot or something.
Marinette hears someone say something to her but does not say another word. She shakes her head and turns around as if she wishes to go anywhere but here.
Adrien's POV:
Adrien thinks goodness ever since Natalie moved away and father with her, it is been quite lonely around here. He sighs as he hears the doorbell then hears a familiar voice over the intercom. He hits a few buttons to let her in and grins big as he hears the gate swing wide open.
He sees her stand there as if she is a statue or something. He tries to speak to her, but she appears to be in a daze. He watches her shake her head and turn her back on him. He thinks to himself, wait she just got here, where does she think she is going?
" Marinette, not so fast," Adrien says. He grabs her arm and pulls her inside the gate. He hears a loud slam as it closes behind them.
"I know the yard is big, and so is the house, but I like to call it home," Adrien remarks.
Adrien is glad the chauffeur is still around to take him places and to be his bodyguard. It makes the place seem less boring in some ways. Yet, he could use a friend or two. He does not get why his father was in such a rush to move him here to Paris, France only to abandon him within a few days along with Natalie.
He can not stand the silence between them. He lets go of her arm, grabs her hand, and takes her inside the mansion. As she takes a look around he thinks great this is the visitor I have in days since Plagg and she does not say a word. He thinks she is one strange girl.
Plagg's POV:
Plagg thinks I thought Adrien was bad, but now this girl is rather a mess. He has no idea what Master Fu was thinking when he asked him to help set those two up. He can not stand love it is disgusting to him. Blah!
He laughs under his breath as Adrien drags Marinette through the gate and into the house. He can tell the girl is taken aback as she is so quiet. He believes the situation to be rather hilarious.
Plagg senses Tikki is nearby and blushes. He will not admit it, but he likes Tikki.
Tikki's POV:
Tikki thinks this Adrien is rather shy, but he tries so hard. She feels sorry for him. She wishes Marinette would speak up. She wonders why the blue-haired young woman remains so quiet. It is not like she can not talk.
"Come on girl, speak to him, you got this," Tikki whispers.
Tikki gets no response wonders how Marinette expects to get his attention by being so rude to him. She rolls her eyes and hopes for the best the girl snaps out of it soon.
Marinette's POV:
Marinette can tell Adrien tries hard to get her to talk. She is amazed at his place. She never thought he was the rich type. However, looks can be deceiving sometimes. She smiles at her surroundings.
"Adrien, I am sorry for being so unkind when we last met," Marinette says.
"I know you might not believe me, but I mean it. I want to be your friend," She states.
Marinette sees him grin and hopes this means she got through to him. She can hear Tikki whisper, "Yes, you go girl!"
She feels him drop her hand as if it dawns on him he still holds it. She wonders if she did something wrong.
