Chapter 8: Idol?

Just breath

Cecilia fidgeted her hands as she stared at the wooden floor beneath her, engaging her mind by staring at the different patterns placed in front of her. Her head snapped back, and she quickly stood up when she heard the glass door slide open to reveal an average height, plump, middle-aged man with black hair and pair of glasses set on his big nose.

"Annyeong haseyo (hello)," Cecilia greeted, then noticed the arrival of another young man with reddish-brown hair slicked to the back.

"I'm going to be translating everything," the young man explained, standing next to the Ceo.

"Oh okay," Cecilia replied, scared for her life.

I knew I would be called to his office sooner or later, but why alone? Cecilia thought while taking a seat on a dark blue chair.

Mr.Bang handed her the papers and she found herself devouring it,unable to believe what was written.

"I can explain," she blurted, still in shock.

"I was hoping you would say that," Mr. bang said calmly, nodding at the translator. "I want you to start from the beginning."

Cecilia took a deep breath, trying her best not to stutter through the story.

"Wait, so this was Taehyung's fault?" Mr.Bang interrupted her.

"No!No!" Cecilia replied quickly in an attempt to dismiss the misunderstanding. "Taehyung was being nice, it's not his fault."

Mr. Bang allowed her to continue, only to stop and accuse another member.

"Wait, so it's Hoseok's fault?" Mr. Bang questioned.

Cecilia was getting pissed at this point. Unconsciously, she dug her nails into the chair in an attempt to calm her self.

Why can't he understand it's not anyone's fault? Cecilia asked herself.

"Mr.Bang, may I finish before you jump to conclusions?" Cecilia asked in a sweet voice, but it came out a bit too sweet as he was getting on her nerves.

I thought he was nicer than this. Maybe he is acting like this because it's there first scandal,Cecilia thought.

Mr.Bang allowed her to continue and this time he didn't interrupt her but allowed her to finish the story until the end, not mentioning some parts like how she fell on top of Jeongguk. That was definitely not something she wanted the world to know.

"Letting you go is not an option no matter how much we want to. The whole press is after you and now that you involved yourself with the group, it's going to get way worse," Mr. Bang stated.

"So, what should I do?" Cecilia asked, frightened.

"Can you do makeup?" Mr. Bang asked, confusing Cecilia.

"Yeah-," Cecilia replied, only to get interrupted before she could ask more.

"Perfect because you and your friend can help in the make up department until the rumors die. Two of our make up artists need maternity leaves, so you can fill them in. We will pay for you, so you can leave soon. I don't think you should stay with Jin's girlfriend because we don't want more drama," Mr.Bang stated, still thinking of a way to keep them low.

"But, we are not profesionals," Cecilia said.

"Idols, " Mr.Bang smiled.

"Idols?" Cecilia questioned, confused by what's happening.

"We have to hide your identity so you can be undercover idols. I know you are not Korean, but there is such thing as foreign members and we can lie if you don't have any Asian roots. For now, we will get you taken to the hairdresser and fashion designer. It's your choice whether to dye your hair or get a wig. This way we won't get caught and you can stay in a dorm."

"Huh?" was all Cecilia managed to say as she had a hard time processing everything. Her brain was screaming 'What the hell is happening?! After a few moments, she managed to regain her composure.

"Thank you," Cecilia replied, before standing up and leaving the office as she noticed Mr. Bang dismissing her.

Eira had been waiting outside the entire time, and surprisingly so were the boys except for Jeonguk.

Maybe if I got married, I wouldn't have caused so much trouble, she thought as she felt her throat clog.

"What happened?" Eira asked worriedly.

"We are part-time idols and makeup artists?" Cecilia kept mumbling in shock.

"Say what?!" Eira asked in shock. "What do you mean?"

Cecilia explained everything as best as she could, but it was hard since she was having a hard time processing everything as well.

"I guess that's nice," Namjoon said in English. "You guys are safe now."

"Yeah, thank you," Cecilia smiled back. "I'm sorry again for causing so much trouble."

"It's not your fault," Namjoon replied so kindly that she almost believed it.

It is though. If I walked down that aisle, everything would have been different, she thought as she felt as if a needle had just gone through her heart.

Jeongguk looked at his finacee with worry. Her eyes were swollen from crying and she looked completely drained. His heart ached with guilt.

"You understand now, right?" Jeongguk asked, scared of losing her.

"I should have trusted you kookie.I'm so sorry," Yun hee apologized, her eyes full of tears.

"It's okay," Jeongguk said, wrapping her into a hug as he sighed in relief. "Let me treat you."

"You know what would be the best treat?" Yun hee asked with a playful smile on her face.

"Me?" Jeongguk asked innocently.

"Yah!" Yun hee said throwing his hands off her. "Where did you learn all of this?"

"Myself," he smirked, trying to wrap his hand around her once again.

"Jeongguk!" she whined, a blush forming on her cheeks as she walked back into a wall.

"Yes, my love," he chuckled.

"let's just chill and watch a movie together," Yun hee said, trying to keep her pitch down, but failed.

Jeongguk leaned in and watched how her eyes closed and her lips were now pouted. A smile played on his lips as he slowly moved backward.

"You coming?" Jeongguk asked innocently.

Yun hee opened her eyes and yelled in frustration.

"You are so annoying!" she huffed walking to a spot on the sofa.

"Were you expecting something?" Jeongguk asked, chuckling.

Yun hee glared at the boy in front of her and threw her pillow.

"Nothing, lovely," Yun hee said in a sickly sweet voice.

Jeongguk rolled his eyes and walked towards her and planted a short kiss.

"Happy?" he asked with a smile.

Yun hee looked at him stunned and mumbled:

"Whatever."

The pair enjoyed their movie marathon while enjoying each other's company. It had been so long since they both spent so much time together and they both took advantage of it as much as they could.

********

Tears stream down his face as he sat in his room clutching onto his bedsheets. Why was he doing that? He didn't know either. Maybe it was the words that kept repeating in his head or it was because he was stressed about their comeback.

Yun hee had left a while ago and as soon as he entered his room, everything kept rushing back to him. It was getting harder to remain happy. His breathing quickened and he attempted to fight the tears, but he knew it was no use. It hurt. It hurt so much that he couldn't breathe well, but at this point, he really didn't care.

Why would he care when crying helped him now. It gave his aching soul a break.

Jeongguk quickly wiped his tears when he heard a knock on the door and watched as the handle opened to reveal Yoongi.

"Hey," Yoongi said with a smile.

"You are here because of my behavior right?" Jeongguk snapped.

"You know what you are doing is not normal right?" Yoongi asked, losing his temper. "What's wrong with you?!"

"Nothing," Jeongguk replied, annoyed. " And I would like it if you guys thought the same."

"Then, what's this?" Yoongi asked as he threw the line distribution paper. "Where are your lines?"

"Look, I'm harmonizing with Jimin here and Jin and over there with Taehyung," Jeongguk pointed out.

"You are joking right?" Yoongi huffed, driving his hand through his mint hair. "Jeongguk you are not even singing a single line! This is not normal and none of us like it!"

Jeongguk flinched slightly from how angry his hyung was. Yoongi had never been that mad with Jeongguk before, and Jeongguk didn't like it one bit.

"Fine, just give me whatever lines and I'll record them tomorrow," Jeongguk said.

"Good," Yoongi said then was about to walk out his room, but stopped in his tracks. "We miss the old you."

Jeongguk opened his mouth to say something, but closed his mouth again and watched as Yoongi closed the door, allowing his tears to surface.

"I'm sorry," he whispered to himself continuously.

**********

Jeongguk entered the building and noticed how rushed everything was today. Yes, he would see people running about but today it was more than ever. He continued to stroll until he reached the practice room where the members would meet each morning.

"Is everything okay?" Jeongguk asked, noticing how all the members were chattering quite excitedly.

"You don't know?" Taehyung asked with a grin on his face. "Everyone is talking about the two new 'k-pop' trainees and they have no idea who they are, but we know.

"Honestly, they look so different," Jin stated.

"What's with the quotation marks around Korean and how do we know them?" Jeongguk questioned still confused.

Instead of answering, Taehyung grabbed Jeongguk's hand and dragged him outside towards the chaos in the middle.

"Over there," Taehyung pointed out through a tiny hole, but it grew bigger as everyone moved aside for their seniors.

Jeongguk stood their with a surprised expression on his face when he saw the girl in front of. Her black wavy hair was only half black and the rest was a shade of beautiful violet, complementing her hazel eyes even more. Her outfit was jaw-dropping with a black crop top, black rip jeans, a black jacket that hung off from her shoulders and a pair of high heel black boots. The outfit was emphasizing all her curves that she usually kept hidden with oversized hoodies, and he almost choked when she snapped him out of his trance.

"Jeongguk, Taehyung," Cecilia said, not believing the words she was saying as they felt foreign on her tongue.

"You both look so different," Taehyung smiled, his eyes wandering back to Eira's straight brown that was now royal blue as he went down. Her hair was open for the first time and he couldn't help but admire her. Her outfit was mirroring her best friend, but Eira carried it differently yet the same way. Eira carried hers with confidence and ruthlessness while Cecilia carried it with confidence, you could tell if you looked into her eyes that she didn't like the amount of skin the outfit exposed.

"Yeah," Eira replied, trying to ignore Taehyung's anime-like eyes that were on her.

"Girls, it's time to officially introduce you to your group," a tall, middle-aged, black-haired man stated as he appeared through the hallway.

The girls turned around and stared at the man curiously.

"I'm Manager Kang-min," he said, analyzing the girls. "Usually our trainees look different, but I guess they already prepared you for the photo shoot."

"I'm sorry but you say photoshoot?" Cecilia asked in horror.

"Yes, of course, you are going to debut in a month with Black Rose," Manager Kang-min said, not understanding why the girls looked so confused and horrified.

"We can't sing or dance!" Eira exclaimed.

The manager looked at them and sighed.

"Follow me," he replied and started walking.

The girls were confused but followed anyways not knowing what was waiting for them.

"They are going to be idols," Jeonnguk said out loud, making sure it was real.

"Guess so," Taehyung replied. "Let's go record your lines."

Jeongguk and Taehyung walked to the recording room, but Jeongguk paused neared the entrance. His heartbeat slowly picked up and Taehyung looked at his best friend with worry.

"Jk, you okay?" Taehyung asked.

"Yeah, let's go," Jeongguk dismissed, walking to the mic.

I have done this a thousand times. Everything is going to be okay, he comforted himself as he opened his mouth to sing.

For some reason, this recording took him back to his pre-debut days where they told him that he was the main vocalist. He remembered messing up continuously and losing his voice from practicing so much, and as if he had jinxed himself, he couldn't speak.

It felt like there was something stuck in his throat and no matter what he did, he couldn't swallow the lump.

"Wat-er," he croked out.

Jeongguk grabbed the bottle handed to him by Taehyung. He quickly gulped the entire bottle down and went back to the mic.

"I can sing," he told himself quietly and closed his eyes, only to hurriedly open them again as he saw those comments again.

He took a deep breath and started singing, but anyone could tell something was wrong. He wasn't singing well. His pitch was all off.

"Let's take a break," the producer told Jeongguk as he couldn't get it right for the fifth time. In response, Jeongguk nodded and ran away as fast as his legs could take him, ignoring Taehyung's voice.

To his surprise, he found Cecilia sitting in his secret place as tears streamed down her eyes and her outfit was a complete mess adorned with rips.

"What's wrong?" Jeongguk asked, not knowing what to do. He would have left if it wasn't for the fact that the members knew his other hiding spots.

Cecilia looked at him in shock and quickly wiped her tears.

"Nothing," she replied, standing up to leave.

"Are you seriously going to lie to me right now?" Jeongguk asked, taking off his jacket and placing it on her petite figure.

"What happened?" he asked in a softer voice, calming Cecilia down.

"I shouldn't even be crying honestly. I knew they would know I left the alter, but it still hurts when they don't know the truth," Cecilia said sadly, staring at the floor.

"No, you shouldn't have to deal with it," Jeongguk replied. "No one should treat you like this. Did they rip your clothes as well?"

"It not was on purpose," Cecilia explained, looking for an excuse.

"You don't have to defend them," Jeongguk retorted. "You have every right to be mad at them."

Cecilia sighed.

"I guess you right, but should you not be at practice?" Cecilia asked, realizing how much time she had spent with him.

"I took a break," Jeongguk replied sheepishly.

Cecilia finally took a good look at him and realized how tired he looked. His black hair was drenched in sweat and his eyes held no shine.

Why? Cecilia thought, then got an idea.

"Do you remember when you cry on stage and every ARMY told you stop?" Cecilia asked out of the blue, surprising Jeongguk.

"Yeah," he smiled at the memory.

"Do you remember crazy fan chant during euphoria?" Cecilia asked, getting excited at the memories.

"Oh definitely," Jeongguk beamed. "That was amazing."

"Then, I'm sure you remember when all ARMY called you handsome in fan meeting," Cecilia stated with pure happiness. "You all red."

"No, I wasn't," Jeongguk argued, forgetting about his worries. "What was the purpose of all of this?"

"To see you smile," Cecilia replied shyly, trying her best to stop her heart from beating fast.

Jeongguk stared into her hazel eyes that twinkled brightly. He smiled his famous bunny smile at her.

"Found... you," Jimin panted.
