Chapter 39: Prove IT

*unknown POV*

"Someone has been living in Jeongguk's apartment," she said frustrated. "Probably for a while now."

"What do you mean?" she asked confused. "I have been keeping an eye out and I'm sure Jeongguk moved in."

"No silly, someone is living with my- our man," she exclaimed. "He is taken again."

"No he can't be," she replied as she could feel her heart shatter, her breathing getting more rapid as the room spins. "It was finally a chance to show him and now..."

"I know that's why we need to get rid of her," she smiled darkly as a plan conjured. "Let's start with a warning and see how long this little piece of trash lasts."

"I'll help," she said as her heart went numb.

**********

Cecilia hummed as she arrived back home, excited to see Jeongguk after his prerecording. She really enjoyed the new album and the best part was that Jeongguk got it signed by them all before handing it to her. It was a dream come true and surely nothing could ruin her day except the fact she had a lot to study which brought her down, but time had passed and she had gotten the hang of things. The crying never goes away but having her biggest support around meant she always had someone to bring her back to her feet.

She tilted her head as she found the package on the floor. Could it be another surprise from her boyfriend? The thought alone made her giggle with excitement as she brought it inside, excitingly opening it as it dropped from her hand immediately. Not a sound came out of her mouth as she opened it thenclosed it shut. This was the fear she hoped would always stay a fear but the knife and the note in the box confirmed that someone had found out about her and Jeongguk.

The right thing to do would be to alert him, but it was their comeback week so no way could she take away that special moment from them. Maybe there was a way to deal with this herself: she would talk to the company directly.

Cecilia packed away the evidence as it was too late to do anything since Jeongguk would be home soon. Time ticked away faster than she could keep up as she scurried around the house to hide the box somewhere Jeongguk wouldn't see it and ended up settling it in the closet behind the clothes. She could only hope that was not real blood as she washed her hands that were stained red. Anyone looking at the scene would have no doubt mistaken it for murder which kinda made her laugh.

The doorbell rang as she dried  up her hands and ran to the door to open it.

Jeongguk smiled brightly as Cecilia wrapped her arms around him.

"I missed you," she pouted as she looked up at him.

"Really?" he raised his eyebrows, pretending to be upset. "You didn't even text me or call today."

"I did," she fought back, pulling back as he closed the door while she held her ground. "I had a long day of studying and you know how uni is. Besides you had a schedule for the day so I didn't want to disturb you."

The truth was slightly different as she had wanted to call him as usual, but she knew she wouldn't be able to call him so shaken up from the events from earlier. It was hard to lie to him as her heart screamed to tell him everything, but it was too early, right? whoever was after her wouldn't harm them just yet. At least that's what she wanted to believe as she held his hand to make him sit down.

"You are doing it again, "Jeongguk frowned as he moved closer, lifting her chin lightly. "I thought there were no secrets between us."

"There aren't," she lied to him which only gave her more anxiety. "I really was busy and I was out of it from the long day."

Cecilia pulled herself away as she went into the kitchen.

"I'll heat up your meal so you should freshen up," Cecilia called out.

Jeongguk wasn't satisfied with her answer. She was fiddling around and could barely meet his eyes. Something was clearly wrong and he would have to figure it out on his own, but for now, all he could do was play with her lie. As he bent down to throw something in the bin, he noticed tissue with what looked like blood as his face paled. He hadn't noticed any injuries on her visible. Was she injured somewhere he couldn't see? His heart raced with anticipation as he went out immediately and held her, looking around to see where she was hurt.

"Baby, I'm fine," Cecilia said confused with the way he was acting. "I'm not injured."

"I saw the bloody tissues, Cecelia," he scolded her as he ran his hands through his hair to calm his thoughts. "if it's not your blood then who's?"

"I was doing a dissection," She explained as she took his hand to make him sit down. "It's not my blood I promise. Just an animal."

Jeongguk leaned into her, his heart still feeling uneasy as he tried to refocus his thoughts while soaking in her comfort.

"You promise? "He whispered defeated.

"I promise love," she comforted him as she hugged him close to her, soaking in his warmth. "I'm safe"

They stayed like that for a while for completely different reasons, but it was important to both of them. Words wouldn't never be enough to describe just how it feels to hold someone you love. The worried buried deep inside seemed to disappear. There was no need for words but the silence is what brought it all together and the warmth between it all enough to bring anyone to tears. Cecilia needed him to know just what he meant to him. She hated lying to him and a part of her knew how disappointed he might get, but it was something she could try to fix first. It was crazy but a part of her was scared he would make a rash decision. Just as sensitive as she was, Jeongguk was too in ways she wished some of his fans realized. He was no toy and calling them as fans even brought a bitter taste to her mouth as she knew better.

Though she loved him as well, she was happy that he had found his happiness no matter how miserable it made her. The Jeongguk she knew was someone she created in her head, the man she craved for had loved someone else yet each real interaction had made her fall for him all over. How could she not when he was the man of her dreams? That made her feel guilty.  A part of her always hated how much she loved and adored Jeonnguk as all she was nothing but a fan yet his words brought her so much comfort.

There was no man like Jeongguk and she was so lucky to be holding him this close right now especially when she was from such a different world from him.

Maybe no one would understand their love story, but they understood each other, and yet she feared he would push her away to keep her safe. That was her biggest fear as she didn't want to be away from him. It was selfish, she knew that much as love was all about compromise as much as being together yet she was tired of being away from people she loved.

"Let's go to bed," she stroked through his hair gently.

Jeongguk stood up, lifting her up bridal style which made her squeal as his thoughts were forgotten by his bright smile that made his nose crinkle. He walked her to the bedroom, placing her down as he followed, hovering over her.

"I still need the shower, "Jeongguk grinned. "You can always join."

"Tempting but I showered before you came, "Cecilia gently pushed him. "I'll join in the morning."

"How do you know I'll take one then?" Jeongguk raised his eyebrow, amused.

"Because you always shower after your workout," Cecilia looked away.

"How very observant," Jeongguk kissed her head."Instead of working out when I'm not around, just join me."

"I can't," she flushed bright red.

"Please," he whispered against her lips as he brushes them together." I want to see how hot you really look."

"You are so-," she looked back, her voice getting stuck as she forgot how close he truly was. "Fine."

Jeongguk grinned as he left, dodging the cushion she tried throwing on his head.

"Ugh," she covered her face with the cushion, frustrated with the way she could never say no to him. She looked ugly and sweaty while working out. Her body still made her feel insecure yet Jeongguk was good motivation. He was always helpful and told her she didn't have to change but she wanted to look pretty beside him too, so she was trying so hard.

***********

Water trailed down his lean muscles as he ran his hand through his hair, massaging the shampoo thoroughly. His hands go down his body with the shower cream, trailing down his abs as he thinks about Cecilia and how she would gawk at his body opening and as he closed his eyes, he was sure he could feel her soft fingers trailing over his body. There was no doubt his thoughts considered just of her as he was still worried about how she had acted when he came. There was no way the dissection would make her this stressed so what could it be? it was hard to open her up as she thought about a lot of things all the time.

Jeongguk knew better than to keep bringing the matter up, but he couldn't help but think about it. She was always considerate and revealed her thoughts when she couldn't take them anymore. He wished she would be more open to him so he could ease her worries before they got any worse, but he had to be patient as she only had herself to rely on especially after her own parents broke her trust. He knew starting something with him alone had taken so much courage for her.

He wrapped up his shower as he got out, finding her on the phone. She wasn't speaking at all as she closed the phone and gave him a weak smile.

"I was just about to sleep," Cecilia said as she lay down.

Jeongguk got into bed and scooped her into his arms.

"Please don't ask," Cecilia's voice wavered as she spoke. "If you ask me then I won't be able to stop myself."

"I love you," Jeongguk replied as he kissed her head, knowing that it wasn't the right time. He knew she would tell him and right now, he needed to just hold her while she silently cried.

"I love you too," Cecilia bit her lip, releasing a shaky breath. "I'll tell you tomorrow."

"It's okay," Jeongguk comforted as he was more confused than ever. Who had called her or maybe who had been calling her? Was that the reason she was so upset? With those thoughts, he fell asleep.

********

Jeongguk had just finished another prerecording with the fans as he smiled content. This was what he lived for: performing. His heart still beat wildly in chest as he scanned the crowd to memorise everyone that was hear. He couldn't descrbibe how it really felt but seeing the people that loved him made his heart swell with joy as they were the reason he stood on stage, the reason he couldbe who he was and for that he was forever grateful.

There was one fan missing from the crowd though which made him kinda upset. He didn't want to compare but the fear was still vivid in his heart. She wouldn't just forget him. A rational part of him knew better than to have wild thoughts yet the smaller part of his heart dug a sickening whole in his stomach as he didn't want to be all alone again. What if the viscious cycle repeated and he forgot who he wa in a relationship that would turn the same. Maybe happy ending didn't exist for people like him.

"Jeongguk," Seokjin placed his hand on his shoulder as he was concerned with how he had been breathing. "What's wrong?"

"She didn't come," Jeongguk turned around and seeing the way seokin looked at him made him feel small all over again as tears fell from his eyes.

Seokjin hugged Jeongguk immediately as he starts to whisper calming words to him. The trauma Jeogguk had gone through still evidentlt hurt him but seokjin knew Cecilia would never hurt Jeongguk like this not witout a reason and he hoped it was a really good reason because he couldn't watch Jeongguk breakdown like this. It really hurt him.

"Call her," Seokjin comfoted him. "Maybe something happened so she didn't show up today."

Jeongguk sniffled in his arms and nodded, still feeling uneasy.

"Everything felt so off yesterday hyung," Jeongguk voiced his fears. "what if- what if she doesn't love me anymore?"

"I'm sure it's not that Jk," Seokjin comforted him as he rubbed his back gentlty. "She loves you very much. I'll call her."

Jeongguk sat there blankly as seokjin called Cecilia, her phone not connected which only made him frown as he tried to text her but even the messages weren't seen. It made him worry but he smiled at Jeongguk.

"She is coming," he lied even though he knew he shouldn't have but seeing how Jeongguk was, he had no choice. "Let's go meet up with her at the company."

Jeongguk felt too tired as he followed seokjin and they decided to ride together back to the HYBE building.

The people around him were a blur and maybe he had been overthinking this too much, but he felt so defeated right now. He wouldn't have mind if she was late, he just wanted to see her to know that she would keep promises and not leave him.

Seokjin decided to call her again as his phone went to voicemail. This was throwing him off as he heard two people talking about how Cecilia had been in Bang PD's office. Could it be that company was intefering between her and Jeogguk? No he couldn't just jump to conclusions so he asked about her and indeed she was still here as he goes to find her, calling her name.

Celcelia walked over confused as she wasn't sure why seokjin would be calling her then she remembered. She had promised Jeongguk to be there, but with the whole stalker situation, she had lost track of time.

"Where is he?" cecilia asked worried.

"Why are you here?" Seokjin questioned as he wanted to know what was going on.

"Please tell me where he is," Cecilia replied as she hated herself for what she had done. "I'll explain later."

Seokjin told her as she went into one of the empty rooms where Jeongguk sat lifelessly staring at the ground. Her eyes blurred with tears.

"I'm so sorry," She said with tears streaming down her face as she wrapped her arms around him. "I didn't mean for this to happen."

Jeongguk pulled her into his lap as he wrapped her arms around him, holding her hand gently as he could tell that she didn't mean it because who would cry this much if it was on purpose?

"You'll get a headache princess," He gave her a small smile though he still wasn't feeling his best.

"I know I screwed up," She wiped her tears because she should be better than this. "I promise it was just that time went by too fast. I found a package outside our apartment."

Jeongguk looked at her in full concentration, "what was it?"

"There were notes threatening to get rid of me with a bloody knife," Cecilia confessed as she held Jeongguk's hand. "Look I already told and we will find those people and sue so you don't have to worry."

"Of course I will worry," Jeongguk told her but he knew why she was acting like that now. It wasn't because she didn't love him but she loved him. The though alone made his heart relax more. "I won't leave you princess."

"You better not," she hugged him tightly. "Don't make any rash decisions. I wasn't going to tell you but when I found out the mistake I made- I am so sorry Gukkie. I will be there tomorrow. it's the weekend."

"Prove it to me," he whispered to her as he held her once more.
