Chapter 37: Bargained
It's been a few months since the reporter incident and things have changed drastically since then. Though Jungkook still spends time at the dorm, he would sneak into his apartment on most days to check on Cecelia. As for Cecilia, she had already started university so most days now were busy yet when Jeongguk would come, she would spend all her time with him until Jeongguk would force her to study during nights he knew she was and on those nights, Jeongguk would be out, she would spend them with Eira and tonight it was just the both of them after so long, Eira and Cecilia.
"So, How is everything going after debut?" Cecilia asked while she prepared the food, something she always did when Eira was around as her best friend adored her cooking and Cecilia loved cooking to see her smile.
"Things are hard," Eira sighed, leaning against the kitchen counter. "I knew they would be so maybe I shouldn't complain, but it doesn't change the fact that it is hard, but I'm happy too. I always wanted to sing and now my dreams have finally come true."
"And I am so proud of you for that," Cecilia added with a smile. "You deserve to be happy and get to do exactly what you want. Who would have thought we would end up like this? Running away could have left us both broke."
Eira laughed, thinking back on their reckless decision.
"That's true," Eira replied, her mouth-watering at the food. "That looks so good. I haven't eaten proper food in days."
Cecilia sighed, knowing well her boyfriend was the same and she wished there was an easier solution so for everyone's sake and hers, she always made food no one would end up regretting because one thing she was sure of was that she could not give up the sweet comfort of a meal so she set the food down in the living room where they sat.
"This is delicious," Eira hummed in delight, too focussed on the food that she had stopped talking completely. Cecilia couldn't help but smile as she ate as well.
"So you and Jungkook," Eira said as she filled to get a second round. "Anything new?"
"Nothing new," Cecilia said with a smile and she fought the urge to text him. It had been a few days since he visited her and even though they texted every day, Cecilia missed his presence.
"That doesn't seem right," Eira said, straightening herself up and narrowed her eyes at her."There is nothing on your mind?"
"Jeongguk," Cecilia replied, her eyes sparkled as she said his name, and anyone could tell it was out of love and adoration. There was no denying the face her best friend was lost in the charms of a man with a bunny smile. She saw none of his faults or mistakes, blinded by his light yet how could she find his mistakes when he was nothing but loving towards her. It would be purposely looking for flaws in your favorite food.
"But do tell me about you and Taehyung," Cecilia added, watching how Eira cowered back and blushed crimson.
"He makes me feel magical," Eira finds herself saying. "The time we spent together is nothing but pure happiness yet I am scared."
Eira admits the last part, her heart sinking as she played with her fingers.
"People wouldn't approve of us," Eira admitted though saying those words killed her. She wanted happiness with Taehyung and for that, she would do anything even leave her career but Taehyung had scolded her before to not make reckless decisions and he was right. Singing was an escape from everything, a reason for her to breathe yet her support system was Taehyung. He was the reason she wanted to sing more than ever.
"I understand your fear, but people will talk no matter what," Cecilia tried to ease Eira's nerves, holding her hand. "We chose to be part of their life even when we knew it would be hard, so tell me Eira, does Taehyung mean enough for you to hold on or will you let people define your relationship?"
"what about you lia?" Eira asked softly. "How much would you give up for Jeongguk?"
"Everything," Cecilia replied not missing a second. "It's dumb and most people call it being blinded but everything. I'm not saying I won't get hurt because I am sensitive and you know how I get hurt yet I have someone who reminds me that I am beautiful, worth it, and Eira the constant validation he gives my shattered pieces makes me feel so much stronger. The only person who could break me is him and I trust that he won't."
Eira listened and wrapped her arms around her best friends. Fresh tears coated Cecilia's shoulder but she didn't care as all that mattered was that Eira was okay so she rubbed her back slowly until she had no tears left.
"You are right," Eira stood up. "It's always been Taehyung."
Cecilia smiled and hugged her one last time before Eira was out of her apartment with one thing in her mind: Kim Taehyung. She realized just then her limits for Taehyung, there were none.

Time was cruel, to say the least, as Jeongguk wasn't able to visit the entire week and though Cecilia was busy with university herself, she missed Jeongguk so much that she could barely focus at home, so she decided to do something she hadn't done: visit Jeongguk at the HYBE building.
It wasn't that hard to get in as the security already knew who she was and guided her through the back entrance. Cecilia knocked on his studio door and waited, but there was no response so she knocked again, waiting and was about to turn around but decided to check anyway since the staff had told her that he was in there.
Jeongguk was there alright and he took her breath away. He was wearing an oversized tee-shirt that hung on his shoulder yet clung to his chest, loose grey trousers, his hair was kinda messy and he had black headphones which explained why he didn't respond. Cecilia walked closer to him and sat on his lap and Jeongguk's eyes widen in surprise as he removed the headphones and placed his hand on her cheek.
"Are you really here?" he found himself asking and she leaned into his touch, nodding.
"I am," Cecilia replied and wrapped her arms around his figure and he immediately responds, embracing her form. She doesn't say anything much as she hugs him closer and though it had only been a week, she missed him so much that nothing seemed to occupy her enough, but now in his warm presence, she was home once more, slowly pulling away from him, she started to place kisses over his face. The gentleness, making Jeongguk giggle, a melody she was obsessed with. "I missed you Gukkie."
"I missed you too," he replied and though he wasn't able to visit, she was constantly on his mind, but he had to work and since comeback was near once more, there was much more to do.
"Can you come home tonight?" Cecilia asked and she looked at him with pouty lips, something she knew he couldn't resist and she knew she got through him when he bit his lips, looking away.
"I'm sorry baby but I really can't," Jeongguk said and he watched her face drop, pulling more away from him. He felt his heartbreak right there. "Comeback is near and there is just too much to do right now."
"But you aren't working at night though right?" Cecilia looked at him, feeling hurt and she knew she was being irrational, but she just missed him too much. "All I am asking you to stay with me tonight."
"Cecilia," Jeonnguk stated and she stilled in his lap. "I explained everything to you before so please try to understand. I would be coming home when you are asleep and be gone before you even wake up. It would be the same as me not being there"
"I don't care," Cecilia fought back."You can come home Jeon Jeongguk and I want you at home with me so I better find you in bed no matter how late it is. She gets off his lap and stares at him. It's about making time Jeongguk and if I can be in your studio because I miss you then you can come home for one night."
Jeongguk looked at her speechless, unable to believe she just said all of that and for some reason, he found it very attractive. The way she stood in front of him, her hand against her hips, but maybe it was also adorable as he bit his lips to not smile. Maybe he was still a little lost in his fears of not doing enough that he forgets that she didn't want that much. It never had to be perfect.
"I'll be home," Jeongguk said, smiling and Cecilia glared at him.
"So now it's freaking funny to you?" Cecilia questioned angrily, but he was still smiling at her and pulled her back into his arms.
"No of course this is very serious," he replied, caressing her gently. "I was being unreasonable and pushing you away.
"Good that you realized that because you are coming home today and I'll take you home in front of everyone if you don't come with me willingly," she said, staring into his eyes, and smile played on his lips as his eyes widened.
"Baby no," Jeongguk whined and she just kissed him in response.
"Baby yes," Cecilia mimicked and held his hand. "Let's go home."
Jeonnguk held her hand a little tighter and he laughed as Cecilia had trouble moving him and used her other hand, letting out a sigh of frustration as she stared at him and he just smiled.
"I thought we were leaving my love," Jeongguk said brightly.
"We are," Cecilia glared and let go of his hand and used all her strength to turn him around and she got on his table, Pushing with her legs, and surprisingly it worked as Jeongguk zoomed to the door, making her smile. "Aha"
"Well aren't you strong?" Jeongguk stated, getting off the chair and she held his hand, dragging him out. "Baby, where are we going?"
"To ask permission that I can bring you home right now," Cecilia answered, not looking back until she went into the dance practice room and found Namjoon, Hoseok, and seokjin.
They all looked up at the situation in amusement.
"I would like to make a bargain," Cecilia stated and pushedJeongguk forward. "I want to take him home for today so what will it take?"
"You want to take him home? " Namjoon asked and Hoseok started laughing at the back with seokjin.
"Yes, I do," Cecilia remained calm though she wanted to laugh herself. "I know comeback is very near and you have schedules, but I'll return him by morning and make sure he is not late."
"Well since you are asking nicely you can take him home," Namjoon said with a smile. "Just keep your word with it and make sure he is on time."
"So Jeongguk how does it feel to bargained for?" Seokjin asked amused.
"Pretty fun," he replied, placing a kiss on Cecilia's head. "She has me wrapped up, doesn't she?"
"She is doing the right thing," Hoseok chimed in. "You can't overwork yourself and be at home is maybe exactly what you need right now."
Jeongguk nodded and held Cecilia's hand.
"Well then baby, I think it's time we go home," he said with a smile, holding her hand and took her home.
