Chapter 30: I Hate that I Love You

Her eyes brimmed with tears, yet she still focussed on the cars zooming on the paved black roads as the dim yellow lights lit up the streets. Her head still repeating the same words she had dreamed to hear 'I love you too'. She harshly wiped her tears that seemed to be neverending as she thought of where she should go. The dorm was etched with too many memories that going anywhere near it... she couldn't.

Dragging her feet, she kept walking until her phone rang. She fumbled in her little bag, taking it out to silence it to see 'Yoongi' flashing on her phone. The phone felt heavy as it rang and she bit her lip, exhaling a sharp breath before answering.

"Hi," Cecilia stated, composing herself enough to not show that she had been crying.

"The girls are having a sleepover and Bo Ra wanted me to invite you as well," Yoongi explained as fresh tears brimmed her eyes once again. Why did she feel this was done on purpose as if someone was reading her very thoughts and creating a place for her?

"Sounds nice, I'll be there," Cecilia replied softly, scared Yoongi might hear the gruffness in her voice even though she knew it was hard not to show it.

"I sent you the address but if there is a problem just call me or Bo Ra. I sent her number as well," Yoongi told her then ended the call after hearing 'okay'.

Cecilia stared at the screen that still managed to burn her eyes despite the low brightness she kept and looked at the message she had gotten. She stopped the nearest cab and told the driver where she needed to be dropped off. The only thing she could think to put herself in a better mood without exerting effort was music, so she slipped on her earbuds and shuffled her favorites.

Tears fell from her eyes and she wiped them away mad at the fact that she couldn't stop her tears. There was no way makeup would hide her bloodshot eyes and before she could ask the driver to turn around, she had arrived.

She paid for the cab and went out, walking towards the apartment complex; her mind numb as she reached the door. A small ring sounded and she bit her lips debating whether to just run away but the door opened and Yoongi gave her a small smile.

"Welcome," he told her, moving aside to give her room to enter and she nodded her head as she made her way inside. Yoongi closed the door behind and noticed her disheveled state. Maybe he shouldn't pry but he knew how it felt to want someone to reach out to you so holding on to his own experience, he decided to speak up.

"Cecilia," he said softly, making her turn around to face him.

"Yes?" she asked yet she could see from from his fixed gaze that he knew she was pretending so Cecilia lowered her gaze, her lips trembling once again.

"What did he do?" Yoongi asked calmly knowing well the last place she went to was the bar Jeongguk was at.

Cecilia snapped her head up as she looked at Yoongi speechless unable to believe the words he had just uttered. This was the trigger she didn't know she had developed as tears blurred her vision and Yoongi immediately went to her side to hug her. He looked up and notice  Bo Ra come in and mouthed to her 'be gentle with her' to which Bo Ra nodded and came forward, taking her from Yoongi's embrace.

"Ceci, You want to talk about it?" Bo Ra gently asked as she stroked her head, letting her sob.

"I'm so- sorry," she replied as she couldn't control her tears. "I'm ruining your sleepover. I'll leave."

"There is no sleepover," Bo Ra told her softly and Cecilia pulled away and looked at her confused.

"Jin called Yoongi and told him that you weren't okay so we both decided it was best for you to stay over," Bo Ra explained. "I thought about the sleepover but maybe sometime later."

Cecilia stayed still for a while staring quietly at the ground, trying to understand why someone would go out of their way to make her life slightly better. A burden. She was burdening someone she met a couple of days ago with her problems, ruining a peaceful night the couple could have spent. Maybe it was wrong for her to think that way because whenever someone told her that, she would disagree, but being put in the opposite situation she could feel the insecurities eating her up.

"You don't have to go through all of this," Cecilia told them politely, giving her a little smile.

"I really want to help and you can just sleep, no need to even tell us what happened," Bo Ra comforted her.

The truth was she wasn't ready to admit what had happened. Saying it out loud would make it more real, but she owed them an explanation.

"He confessed," Cecilia replied looking towards Yoongi who knew immediately what she meant.

"Confessed?" Bo Ra asked, but Yoongi whispered to her what it meant then looked back to her.

"Did he do anything else?" Yoongi asked softly, scared that the boy had traumatized her.

"We going to kiss but I," she replied voicing out the words, but as soon as she spoke her throat went dry and it drove her crazy that she still wanted to be around him. She clenched her fists in frustration as a tear slipped down. Her knees buckled underneath her but she held herself together.

"You don't have to say anything but do you regret it?" Yoongi asked wanting to know her exact feelings that he could direct to the younger.

"I miss him," she mumbled to herself and Yoongi heard what he needed to as he opened the door and slammed it shut, surprising even Bo Ra who wasn't used to see her boyfriend this worked up.

Bo Ra gently guided her to a spare bedroom and made her sit down on the bed.

"You know if you tell me anything or any of us, we won't judge you," Bo Ra said as she took a seat beside the girl who seemed to be shutting off inside. Her eyes were bloodshot but they held deep loneliness and if you stared long enough, you could feel the yearning in them. Her face once held a beautiful rosy color had been replaced by a pale hue. Despite her attempt to fix her hair, it was a wavy mess as the curls she did had opened.

"I was in love with him for years," Cecilia voiced out after gathering herself up as she forced a smile on her face. "It was just a teenage crush. Just a regular crush that excited me because I never felt like this for any boy before but I didn't realize that I was slowly falling in love with him."

Bo Ra watched silently as she watched the girl release a deep sigh and gently held onto her hand.

"I fell in love with the little things he did," Cecilia continued, reminiscing on the memories she had ended up making. "The way he smiled and oh his little nose scrunch from time to time. The way his eyes sparkled as if stars lived right in them, I didn't know those plain chocolate brown colored eyes could be so attractive on anyone but he makes them look so good. He makes anything he does look good. He is so hardworking. Always doing his best and he loves his fans so much that he inked his hands with us right on it. I couldn't believe the world hadn't corrupted his beautiful soul and that he was so bright, playful and when he would lose a match, he would have this cutest frown on his face. His voice always calmed me down, easing all my worries and he reminded me of a part I lost of myself so maybe that's why I couldn't let him go. I cried when he cried and when he had to apologize for being himself, it made me devastated and I got jealous but always played it off. He became my safe place even though I knew that everything I felt was one-sided, I couldn't let him go."

Bo Ra gave her a little smile as she still held onto her hand, understanding her story more. The girl in front of her had been through a lot and Jeongguk, the guy she was in love with, had finally realized he loved her too but was still with his fiancée . A sigh escaped her lips.

"Everything will be alright," Bo Ra comforted. "I'm sure all of this will be sorted. You love him and he loves you so you can finally be happy with him."

"How?" Cecilia asked, glancing at her. "He can't just switch like that, can he?"

"No, the only reason he fell for you is because he wasn't in love with Yun Hee for a very long time," Bo Ra explained. "Maybe he did love her at one point but they both failed to make their relationship right."

"I did it, didn't I?" Cecilia questioned as she laughed dryly. "I destroyed his relationship. I hate myself for loving him. I shouldn't have."

"What are you talking about?!" Bo Ra exclaimed at her. "Because of you, Jeongguk was genuinely happy after so long. Yoongi literally told me he hadn't seen him so carefree in so long and when you stopped hanging out with him, he was upset."

Cecilia's eyes brimmed with more tears and she bit her quivering lips.

"I make him happy?" She tested those words out, unable to believe what she heard.

"Yes, you make him very happy," Bo Ra said with a smile and Cecilia nodded.

"I'll let you rest so please don't cry," Bo Ra told her as she stood up. "I left some comfort food for you along with drinks. If you need anything then I'll be in the room across from yours."

"Thank you," Cecilia replied and gave her a smile, "for everything."

Bo Ra smiled and shut the door on her way out.

"Hyung what have I done?" Jeongguk asked in a small voice and he looked down, thinking about her last words to him. "I lost her didn't I?"

Jin glanced at Jeongguk who had finally spoken since they sat in the car.

"What did you do?" Jin asked him as he still didn't know what went out between the both of them.

"I made her tell me she loved me," the younger mumbled unable to look at his Hyung. "I told her I loved her and tried to kiss her."

"You did what?!" Jin yelled shocked. "Are you joking right now?!"

"No," Jeongguk mumbled, his head hanging low as he heard a sigh escape Jin's mouth.

"You can't do this to Cecilia or Yun hee," Jin told him after he calmed himself down. "You are still engaged and almost cheated on Yun Hee. That's not okay. We all figured you had feelings for Cecilia but you should break it off with Yun Hee first."

Jeongguk knew what he had to do, but he promised Yun Hee he would stay with her. They had both made so many promises together and he felt guilty for what he had to do. How would he even start a conversation like that? They are supposed to get married in a week.

Jin noticed how quite Jeongguk had gotten and decided it was best to let him think about everything.

Jeongguk didn't notice the car park and only noticed they had arrived from Jin's voice telling him, they had arrived. He nodded his head and got out of the car, dragging his feet inside their shared apartment complex. He followed Jin inside only to get slammed against the wall by Yoongi.

"Is that what we taught you to do?" Yoongi questioned, his fists clenched and his face red from all the anger he had built inside of him. He pushed Jeongguk again, holding him by his shirt.

"Yoongi there is no point," Jin tried to calm him down, but Yoongi held his hand up.

"No Hyung, he deserves more than what I'm about to do," Yoongi huffed out and glared back at the younger who had his eyes cast down.

"Look at me boy!" Yoongi yelled at him. "Stop being a coward and look at me like a man."

Jeongguk looked back and stared into Yoongi's eyes which held no emotion.

"Cecilia loves you and she misses you, " Yoongi said as he let go of Jeongguk who fell down against the wall.

Yoongi shook his head as he stared at Jeongguk once more.

"After all that you have done, she still misses your pathetic presence." Yoongi fake laughed. "Imagine how much she loves you and it looks like you are still hesitant."

Yoongi moved closer to him and bent down to get a good look at the younger.

"If you don't want to be with Cecilia then Leave Her Alone," Yoongi told him emphasizing the last three words.

Yoongi went out of the house again, leaving Jeongguk alone to contemplate on the situation in hand.

He pushed himself upward and glanced over to Jin who had been watching the scene quite silently, however Jin lowered his gaze and walked over to the kitchen grabbing an ice pack before walking to where the younger stood. He handed him the ice pack and waited until Jeongguk had placed it on the back of his head.

"Yoongi has a point," Jin told him monotonously. "You have to let go of one of them, but let go of the one you don't love."

Jeongguk nodded and watched as Jin disappeared to his room. He walked toward the gray couch and took a seat, holding his head. He was bewildered and still couldn't believe he hurt the girl who gave him a new reason to live.

Talk to her

No

You want to see her then go see her

No I can't do that to her

But you miss her

"I miss her," he finally whispered the words he wanted to say for days now.

Jeongguk wasn't sure what came over him, but he got out of bed and rushed towards the dorm she was staying at. He passed the little park he used to find her at, pushing himself forward as memories flooded his mind and he arrived right in front of the door. He texted Eira knowing well Cecilia wouldn't pick up.

Eira
Eira please let me in
I want to see her. I need to explain

Jeongguk looked up as soon as he heard the door unlock and was grateful to see Eira, but his expression dropped when he saw how defeated she looked.

"Lia isn't here," Eira told him sadly, " but I want to show you something."

Jeongguk nodded, ignoring the emptiness he felt when he knew he she wasn't there and followed her inside to find Taehyung.

"Taehyung-ssi?" Jeongguk questioned kind of surprised but a playful smile played on his lip. He walked over to his Hyung and whispered:

"Haven't taken her out yet already made it to her bed."

Jeongguk pulled back and winked just in time to see Taehyung's horrified face.  Taehyung gently smacked Jeongguk's head.

"It's not what you think," Taehyung scolded Jeonnguk who just smiled brightly.

Eira turned around and handed Jeongguk a file.

"I want you to read it," Eira told him with a smile. "Lia will kill me when she finds out but I want you to see this."

"Oh and this," Eira said as she handed him her Ipad. "I want you to go to a folder inside the gallery and you will know which one I'm talking abut when you see it."

Jeongguk nodded and held onto both items.

"I will leave you both alone then," Jeongguk told them and left the room, heading back to the park where she used to be.

He sat on the bench and read the most recent letter.

'Dear Pied Piper'
