Chapter 26: Your Eyes Feel Different
"Yun Hee?" Jeongguk questioned and looked away from her, not wanting anything to do with her.
"Yes me," Yun Hee replied annoyed. "Why are you always with her?"
"Can we talk later? I'm tired," Jeongguk stated as he started to walk inside and Cecilia thought it was a good idea to leave and let them have their moment, but Yun Hee stopped her.
"Where are you going?" Yun Hee asked her, crossing her arms. "Why are you always around him? Would you like it if your fiance was always around some other girl all the time?"
"Yun Hee!" Jeongguk exclaimed annoyed. "This is between me and you."
"I'm sorry, I not like that so I will stay away from him more," Cecilia apologized. "This was emergency so I have to help, but he only teach me dance and now I'm doing makeup so that's why I have to near him but I make sure I won't do his make up."
Jeongguk watched in horror when he heard her speak and it only boiled his anger more towards Yun Hee, who was bringing Cecilia into their argument that wasn't for her.
"Yun Hee, inside now," Jeongguk said while gritting his teeth, but she ignored his words too excited from what she had just heard.
"You would do that?" Yun Hee asked with a smile. "Thank you."
Jeongguk watched as Cecilia smiled at Yun Hee, before looking at him and he felt his heart break into more pieces which he wasn't sure was possible as she gave him a small smile. That smile became his new nightmare as he knew the meaning behind that little smile that etched just far enough but not enough to reach the eyes that lay diminished.
He wanted to stop her from leaving as he still wanted to know more about his letter, a topic she always managed to avoid. Why were the odds always in her favor? He wasn't sure. She walked quietly back to the car and drove off, but his eyes stayed fixed over at the empty place as the only person who calmed him down vanished right in front of him.
"Kookie," Yun Hee said softly as she back hugged him which caused Jeongguk to tense up, pushing her delicate arms off him and walk inside.
Yun Hee followed him inside and tilted her head to the side, not understanding what she did wrong.
"I know I missed your performance but I promise-," Yun Hee tried to talk to him, but he cut her off.
"I don't care, Yun Hee, " Jeongguk told her as he looked at the tiles below him. He knew the members were all in their rooms and could hear them if they got loud enough. "Don't make promises you can't keep and we will talk later."
"I know I hurt you and I'm really sorry," Yun Hee said softly as she bent down and held his hands, but he yanked them away from her touch.
"I told you to leave nicely so leave," Jeongguk told her as his voice got slightly louder.
"I'm not going to leave when you are still mad," Yun Hee argued standing up. "All we do is fight and I'm tired of it. I was jealous okay? I'm jealous that you get to spend more time with her than I get to with you. Is that wrong?"
Jeongguk sighed in frustration as he had enough of her behavior. All she did was make him feel guilty about how he felt. He wanted to spend time with her and gosh he missed the feeling of holding her in his arms, but she was always busy even more busy than he ever was as an idol. Maybe it was his unrealistic expectations from movies and all the shows he had seen, but he thought relationships meant more happy moments and making time for each other.
"No, it's not wrong, but you chose not to spend any time with me," Jeongguk started, looking into her dark orbs they felt different for the first time. The usual feeling of being captured and sinking in pure bliss was gone and replaced with a blank canvas, but he didn't voice this new feeling out because it frightened him. This unknown world he had just entered, he wanted nothing to do with it as the waves were huge and he felt suffocated as each inch of him screamed run, but he held his breath drowning in the water.
"No kookie no," Yun Hee told him as tears brimmed her eyes. "I promise you that I want to spend time with you. I love you so much."
Ice cold. He felt chills run down his spine and his heart hardened at her words. Those words did nothing to melt his walls and he built them higher, so he would never let her hurt him again.
"Then, why don't you have time?" Jeongguk questioned firmly. "Why are you always busy and never have time for a date? You want to spend time with me then do it, but after the promotion period is over because Yun Hee I can be busy too."
"Let's have dinner after you finish recording for the day and please don't call me Yun Hee," Yun Hee told him trying to get through with him, but his eyes held no light. He never looked at her so coldly since the day they were together. They fought multiple times on things here and there, but this was the first time, he was so cold. Where was her Jeongguk that couldn't stay mad at her? Where was the man who always smiled when he saw her and would give her little kisses to cheer her up?
She was confused as her heart broke. She was going to try harder to clear up her schedule or else he would slip away from her hands.
"I told you after," Jeongguk replied.
"Please kook," Yun Hee said as she tried to hug him again, missing the way his arms would wrap around her gently and she would bury her head into him, the feeling of warmth spreading through her body.
Jeongguk decided that he couldn't torture her anymore and pulled her into his arms and he smiled a bit as she hid her face in his chest.
Yun Hee felt over the moon as Jeongguk gently stroked her hair, and she felt comfortable in his arms, too happy to realize the void she felt at the back of her mind.
"Let's go out then beautiful," Jeongguk said with a smile, looking down at her affectionately.
"We will go out every day until your promotion is over," Yun Hee told him and she took out her phone and canceled everything that she had at the time she would spend with Jeongguk and rescheduled it.
Guess she will actually be with me this time, he thought with a smile.
**********
Yun Hee had finally left and Jeongguk went back to his room and stared at the razor laying on his side table.
He took a deep breath before taking small steps towards it and picked it up,testing how it felt when he heard a knock and the door open.
"Put that down Jeongguk," Yoongi said and let out a shaky breath.
"I wasn't going to," Jeongguk tried to explain.
"You thought about it again though," Yoongi replied sadly as he walked closer to the younger and took the blade from his hands. He ruffled Jeongguk's hair and gave him a small smile. "Let's go."
Jeongguk quietly followed his Hyung outside to see the other members fighting over the best popcorn flavor.
"Caramel is the best, right Jeongguk?" Taehyung said as he looked at Jeongguk.
"Taehyung I love you, but I think buttery popcorn is the way to go," Jeongguk replied smugly causing Taehyung to throw a cushion his way.
"Look at him being such a liar," Taehyung said as he shook his head. "He was literally enjoying caramel popcorn last time we watched a movie."
"Because it's good to try new things," Jeongguk argued back.
"That's it, cheese is the best," Jin stated and everyone stared at him in disgust.
"Hyung no," Hoseok answered and the fight continued as Namjoon and Yoongi chose whatever movie they liked and started watching.
The others finally noticed something playing and hushed down immediately.
"Always the same thing," Yoongi said with a smile and Namjoon molded returning the smile.
Jeongguk completely forgot about the events that took place as he enjoyed this new memory with his hyungs. At the end of the day, they made him the happiest no matter what and he couldn't imagine a day without them.
**********
"You are joking right?" Eira asked staring at her in shock.
Cecilia just shook her head and smiled at her.
"Okay I understand that Yun Hee was sad, but you did yourself dirty," Eira told her. "Let's forget this and focus on important things like how-"
"How Taehyung changed our schedule because he wants you around him and made you all bothered because he was flirting with you the whole time," Cecilia interrupted with a huge smile.
"No!" Eira said as she rolled her eyes and a blush crept on her face. "I meant how we will hang out with Jade."
"That's exciting too but when's your date with Kim Taehyung?" Cecilia asked excitedly.
"It's not a date," Eira mumbled.
"Really?" Cecilia asked raising her eyebrows and crossing her arms. "He is clearly attracted to you and asked you out. Stop denying it and accept it."
"But how?" Eira questioned, unable to comprehend why a guy like Kim Taehyung would take interest in a girl like herself.
"You are smart, talented, beautiful, fun, kind and so many more things," Cecilia told her with a huge grin. "Why wouldn't he like you? No, I'm not saying this because I'm your friend."
"Fine fine," Eira said in defeat.
"So,when?" Cecilia asked.
"After promotion period," Eira said and heard a squeal, making her cover her ears. "Lia, what the heck?!"
"Sorry not sorry," she replied sticking her tongue out and started going around the room chanting:
"Eira has a date."
Eira sat down and held her head in dismay. Her friend was childish to a whole new level but she loved her to pieces and it made her happy that she wasn't crying over Jeongguk anymore. From what Cecilia had told her, it seemed like Jeongguk wasn't sure about his own feelings or maybe it was just some drunken weird behavior. That's how she should label it.
No way would she let Jeon Jeongguk hurt her best friend anymore. Even though the way it was done wasn't good, but this way she wouldn't have to worry about Jeongguk. Yes, she had told her to go, but it was because Jeongguk had been there for her and knowing her friend, she knew Cecilia thought she had to help him back and she did that today, so no more Jeongguk.
"Eira OMG!" Cecilia exclaimed as she fumbled with her phone almost dropping it. "It's Jade."
"What!" Eira ran over to her and they stared at the 'hi' on the screen.
"What do should I say?" Cecilia asked panicked. "Should I write hi back...wait that would be weird right? maybe a hey or no that's too informal...maybe hello would be perfect."
"Just type Cecilia!" Eira yelled as she bit her lips and held her breath as Cecilia typed the 'hello'.
Cecilia

"Eira, help," Cecilia said as she was still struggling with this conversation.
"Breath," Eira replied and Cecilia shook her head.
"I think you should breathe because you are holding your breath," Cecilia told her. " You are useless."
"You did not," Eira replied ready to fight but Cecilia waved her hands, telling her to stop.

"Are we?" Eira asked.
"We are!" Cecilia squealed in excitement as she lied down on her bed.
"I can't believe we will hang out with Jade," Eira told her as she settled into bed as well.
"Who do you think are the other people?" Cecilia asked out loud.
"Could be anyone," Eira shrugged.
