Chapter 18: Confession

The lights felt brighter. The floor felt harder than usual. There were so many people passing but it didn't matter as all of them focused on their breathing. Hearts racing, they looked at each other, and with a nod they decided to settle the case.

To their amazing luck, Mr. Bang seemed to be busy on the phone which only increased their restlessness. They looked at each other and a silent agreement passed between them all by just a few gestures. It was clear why they were here and they had to make sure Mr. Bang understood them.

"I'm glad you came because I actually needed you guys," Mr. Bang told them as he closed the call. "I know you guys have been working so hard on this comeback and I can proudly say everything seems to be going well. We will release the first song according to the schedule. The only problem is that you need to choose where you want to perform."

"Anywhere is fine," Namjoon replied trying to dismiss the notion as politely as possible. "We have something else we want to talk about."

"Can we talk later?" Mr. Bang said as his phone had already rung twice and he stood up and went to pick it up.

***********

"That was a fail," Jimin stated with a sigh as they left Mr. Bang office.

"The problem is that our comeback date is so near that we will just get busier and busier," Hoseok pointed out in frustration. "How are we suppose to help if we will disappear for a while? ....Oh no! What if they try debuting them when we are busy?"

"No," Jin dismissed the idea. "We just did a couple of practices with them which is not enough. There is improvement but they need a bit more to be perfect."

"The concept photos," Jeongguk blurted out remembering how they were revealed. He quickly opened the page and scrolled down to see the members and it was right there just like a haunting memory you would want to erase but would never be able to. "Guys, this is bad."

"I'm sure a lot of people haven't seen them," Taehyung tried being positive even though he knew that would never happen since their company had gotten way too popular lately.

"The damage is real," Jeongguk sighed.

"But the member introduction videos are not out so this is like an official rumor, right?" Taehyung pointed out.

"So, we could remove them and it will seem like it never happened," Jeongguk added excitedly.

"We could but we need to talk to Mr. Bang," Namjoon said, thinking about the crazy idea that might just work. "Plus, Cecilia has already been the talk of the show before and I feel it will be the hardest on her like just look at comments already."

Jeongguk took a quick scan through the comments and the amount of negativity shocked him. For every nice comment, there was a hurtful comment. He felt a sudden urge of overprotectiveness over her. She was one of the sweetest people and he couldn't believe they were blaming her without giving her a chance.

Jeongguk decided to make a mental note to clear the whole her being with him in the car thing.

She is pretty but isn't this the girl who ran away from Dante? She is already so scandalous. She shouldn't debut.

Does she even know how to sing and dance? I can't believe Bighit would choose someone like her.

Isn't this girl who tried to ruin Jeongguk's marriage? So annoying.

Why is she alive?

"The comments....," Jeongguk trailed off.

"I know," Jin replied sadly. "This is so bad especially because dealing with hate like this can get dangerous. We have so much love yet we are threatened, but for her, it is ten times worse."

"Imagine becoming from no one to someone only for the bad reasons," Yoongi stated. "I think she is already going through a lot, and if she sees this which I think she already has, then we need to find a way to save her."

Before they could talk more, they saw a furious looking Manger Seejin walk over to them.

"I know you guys are seniors but are you SERIOUSLY going to start chatting in the middle of the hallway when you have to practice choreography, the only thing in your schedule today," Manger Seejin said as he massaged his forehead.

The members looked at each other and mouthed 'run' then scattered away as Manager Seejin sighed, yet a small smile appeared on his lips.

"They are still the same boys from the start," he muttered to himself as he followed them.

*******

Cecilia was proud that she had made it early to the practice room. In all honesty, she just wanted to watch the new song BTS had dropped which she wasn't able to gush over with Eira because of their busy schedules, but they promised each other that they would fangirl together no matter what at the end of the day.

She took a couple of breaths and looked around, making sure Jengguk wasn't here and clicked play.

This is it, I'm ready to die, she thought as the usual intro played.

Jeongguk walked in and was about to announce his presence, but when he saw Cecilia watching their new single, he silently went behind her so he wouldn't ruin this moment for her.

He had to admit, he had always wanted to see someone react to their single live. Yes, he had shown his family and friends but this was different. Cecilia was an actual fan and her opinion was different. This was like getting a reaction from an army on Youtube or something.

For a few moments, she looked lost as if she was trying to process the song and then she was muttering something.

Jeongguk leaned in slightly closer, just close enough to hear her but making sure she didn't see him. As the song continued, she nodded her head to the beat as she tried her best to look at the lyrics and music video simultaneously. Since Jeongguk understood Korean he never had to use subtitles but seeing someone actually do it was an experience on its own.

Cecilia seemed to be trying her best to sing along the Korean lyrics but her voice definitely got louder at the English parts. She was a bundle of joy and it was so fun for Jeongguk to see a fan get excited over their parts.

Jeongguk thought the reaction was over as the song finished but she immediately replayed it and it seemed like she was more focused on them than the lyrics.

There were no tears nor she was screaming her head off but she did stay stuff like:

"Go Yoongles!"

Jeongguk laughed quietly when he heard her say it. It was the first time he had heard 'Yoongles' for his hyung other than on twitter and other platforms. He was definitely going to tell him later.

"Omg Namjoon's voice is so deep!"

"Jimin's voice just oooo!"

"Taehyung, my poor heart."

"Hobbbbiiii my man!"

Could Yoongi hyung or Hoseok hyung be her bias? Jeongguk thought as she excitedly hyped up Hoseok, but then he pushed that thought as she seemed to be reacting to all of them in different ways.

"Is that really Yoongi singing?"

He was so close to saying Yes, but Jeongguk covered his mouth to prevent himself from spilling. His hyung had taken singing lessons and they were all proud of him.

"This song is everything!"

Jeongguk was kinda disappointed she had said nothing about his parts, but he thought maybe she didn't realize it. As the song came to an end once again, he was sure she would stop, but she replayed it again.

How many times was she going to watch it? Won't it get boring? Jeongguk thought as he waited to see why she did that.

"I can't hear Jeongguk," she muttered disappointedly, her voice breaking at the end and Jeongguk was taken aback as he stumbled back causing Cecilia to turn around in horror.

"Aaaaaahhhh," she screamed as she clutched her heart.

"You scared me," she added in English.

"Sorry," Jeongguk replied embarrassed that he had been caught. "I didn't want to bother you while you were watching."

"Uh this," Cecilia laughed awkwardly. " I could watch later."

"It's fine I kinda wanted to see your reaction," Jeongguk mentioned shyly.

This is bad, I should have lied and said I just came, Jeongguk thought to himself as he felt like killing himself for saying something so stupid,

Cecilia's eyes widened as she realized he must have heard her scream so many things she never wanted him to hear.

"Practice?" Cecilia asked trying to change the topic because she was not going to have this conversation.

"Sure," Jeongguk replied as he didn't want to put himself in a more awkward position.

They practiced their usual routine, trying to perfect each step and Cecilia focussed on each tip that Jeongguk gave her. She was very grateful and honestly at times like these, she forgot that the world hates her at the moment including her family for running away.

It was finally eight and Cecilia sat on the floor as Jeongguk finished the routine.

"Don't want to go an extra few seconds either, do you?" he chuckled slightly his eyes crinkling at the end.

He noticed the big smile on her face as he laughed, which made him happy.

"Nope," she giggled. "ARMYs going to love your new look!"

"You think?" Jeongguk asked ignoring the mistake she had made.

Cecilia nodded.

"I think you should keep length and add waves for first stage," Cecilia suggested excitedly. "Oh and I think the purple highlights will go well if stage outfit has purple too. Song has dark but at end it resolve so your tattoo look really good and give bad boy look. Every girl would want you but of course no one can. But tattoo not allowed right? So leather jacket and biker gloves."

Jeongguk listened intently to her suggestions. It seemed like she had everything in her head and it was nice to hear she didn't mind his tattoo unlike some ARMYs. He knew not everyone liked them, but they were still apart of them him now, so he wished they would understand. The good thing was that most of his fans were supportive.

"You like my tattoo?" Jeonngguk asked.

"Yeah, it's special for you so special for me," Cecillia replied shyly, a blush appearing on her face.

That's when she realized she had ranted again and most likely took too much of Jeongguk's time.

"I'm sorry for making you-" Cecilia was saying, but was interrupted by someone she hoped she would never encounter: Yun hee.

"Surprise!" Yun Hee exclaimed as she ran to Jeongguk and placed her lips on his.

Cecilia went in shock for a few moments. She could feel her eyes welling up with fresh tear as she felt a sharp stab on her heart and it didn't help that her throat felt clogged.

I have to leave, she thought to herself, but her body refused to move as everything around her spun.

Stop being selfish, she scolded herself for being childish. He was never hers and will never be, so could her heart accept that already?

Somehow she managed to move and run out. She didn't stay too long because they were still kissing when she left, but it felt like it took forever. It felt like time had frozen and that scene. That scene was going to scar her and if he heartbreak wants real enough before, it had gotten worse.

She thought she was done with surprises, but she had to bump in to Jimin who looked at her with concern.

"Why are you crying?" Jimin asked worriedly. "Did Jeongguk do something?"

"No-" Cecilia croaked out, but Jimin was not convinced as he went to peek inside to find Yun Hee clinging on to her finance.

"I missed you," Yun Hee said lovingly and Jimin seemed to get what was going on.

"Do you like-" Jimin was going to ask but Cecilia crossed her arms telling him not here.

Jimin nodded as he told her to follow him. He took her inside one of the empty practice rooms and gave her a chair to which Cecilia smiled and thanked.

"I promise I won't tell so can you please tell me the truth?" Jimin requested but made sure he wasn't pushing her to do something she didn't want to. "If you are not comfortable, I guess I get it but I really want to know if you like Jeongguk."

Cecilia couldn't believe she was in this kind of position right now. She thought Yoongi would be the first person to figure it out, but it seemed like Jimin caught her redhanded and even if she lied right now, Jimin would know she is lying as she couldn't think of anything believable.

"Can you promise not to tell if I say?" Cecilia asked scared as she fiddled with her fingers. "I know you and members close but I don't want anyone to think I'm crazy."

The way Cecilia was talking ensured Jimin that he was right.

"I promise, don't worry," Jimin replied with a smile.

"Yeah, I have feelings for him," she admitted.

Was it weird that Jimin felt excited? He never liked Yun Hee much so maybe he could shift Jeongguk's mind. It wasn't nice of him to think that way, but any normal person would be able to tell how fake their relationship was. There were way too many things Jeongguk was hiding from Yun Hee and it seemed like Yun Hee was always clueless. Jimin wanted to see Jeongguk happy and he knew he was happy around Cecilia.

"How long?" Jimin asked curiously.

Cecilia giggled awkwardly and said:

"four years."

Jimin's eyes widened as he realized other fans might be just like her, in love and have their heartbroken, but why hadn't Cecelia moved on?

"That's love," Yoongi entered the practice room. "Finally figured out a part of you."

Cecilia gasped as she noticed all the members except Jeongguk enter which made her sigh in relief.

"Is this your group practice room?" Cecilia questioned in horror as she realized where Jimin had brought her.

"Yeah," Jimin said. "it seems like our schedule changed."

************

So, Jimin made such a nice mistake. If this boy wasn't an idol, Cecilia would have killed him.

if you were wondering what Cecilia had in mind, it's this Jeongguk with purple highlights.

How are you guys?

I haven't been active and I won't be as much anymore. I'm sorry. I will still update but I can't promise a time anymore. I have been really busy with school and I feel really tired too.

Thank you for all the love and support. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm a good writer or people are reading because it's a Jeongguk ff but thank you to everyone who took their time to read this. I still can't believe this book hit 1K.

What do you think will happen next?

Will Jeongguk find out Cecilia is in love with him like the other did?

Are Jimin's feelings wrong about Yun Hee?

See you all soon. Bye!!!

Take care,

Anera
