Chapter 11: Hurting
"I'm freaking out right now," Cecilia panicked as she paced around the dorm room in circles. "I can't believe I RAN away."
"I can't either," Eira giggled as her dark eyes followed her friend's rapid movements.
Cecilia suddenly stopped and shot a glare at Eira.
"Are you seriously not panicking right now?!" Cecilia asked, shocked as she waved her hands to make a point.
"Don't remind me," Eira groaned, shoving the pillow onto her face. "I already embarrassed myself plenty today, so think about how my first dance practice with Taehyung would go."
"Think about mine as well," Cecilia whined, wanting to disappear off the face of the earth.
"We are doomed," she added, falling onto her bed.
"I'm just going to sleep on this," Eira replied as she pulled the blanket over her, not wanting to think about her situation further because she knew there was nothing she could do to fix this.
Cecilia thought Eira had the perfect plan, but as usual, her brain refused to cooperate and she found her self constantly tossing and turning. She finally gave in and sat up on her bed, her whole body begging for sleep except for her precious brain that kept pushing scenarios that she didn't want to think about.
A tired sigh escaped her mouth, as she pushed herself out of bed and decided to head out.
It was not the best time to be out as the night sky did no justice to the warm temperature, but at least the beautiful deep blue with twinkling lights and the moon were still present to make the night more bearable. She clutched her Ipad in her hand as she thought of a place to write down something new. The first place that flowed into her mind was the little park she had her photoshoot; fresh memories of the velvety green grass under her feet and soft sand flying as she kicked it filled her mind.
A smile formed on her face as she saw her old friends once again. Her feet carried her towards them and she sat on the red swing as her smile turned into a satisfied grin. Gently swaying herself, she opened her IPad and started to type. It was never easy coming up with something she particularly liked, and most of the time she found herself writing then erasing her work, but this time her emotions were heightened, giving her the perfect words to pour out. Keeping a diary was hard, but focusing feelings into words was magical art she never knew she could do and was so glad to be able to do it.
*Poem Starts*
Do you believe in magic?
If you don't, then you better start believing
My love, you cast spells without words
Just mere actions steal my air
The magic you possess
It's wild just like you
They say drugs are bad
But they clearly haven't tried you
My love, you are worse than drugs
You attract with a glance
And lure by your words
And before anyone knows it,
They are goners
Under a spell, you can't break
Because you never learned to control your gift.
*End of Poem*
"I'm taking care of myself I promise," she heard a voice so angelic and soft that his words blurred in her mind, only focussing on the way he spoke. Then, it all hit her at once.
Oh no no, no. Not you. Anyone, but you, her mind went into a state of panic and her whole body froze.
Cecilia quickly composed herself and was about to leave, when Jeongguk noticed her stand up and walk away.
"I'll talk to you tomorrow," Jeongguk said, closing the call. "Hey!"
"Just pretend you heard nothing and keep walking," she muttered to herself as she took quicker steps, but Jeongguk was too fast for her as he jogged up in front of her to grab her attention.
"You didn't hear me?" Jeongguk asked.
"Ah, no," she replied, wanting the ground to open up and swallow her and if that was too unrealistic then maybe the angel of death could just take her soul.
"Oh, I need to talk to you about a couple of things," Jeongguk told her, signaling to her to follow.
Jeongguk noticed her hands shaking as he sat down beside her.
"You are not in trouble," he spoke softly, hoping she would feel better, but it seemed like he had made it worse as he watched her close her eyes and try to even out her breathing.
"What do you want ask me?" She asked, trying her best to calm her shaking form. She didn't understand why her body was reacting this way. Was it because she was scared of his questions or the fact that he was way too real?
A little bit of everything, her thoughts whispered and she hated to agree that they were right.
"Why did you guys run away?" he questioned, hoping for an answer.
This was it. This was the question she was dreading to answer and here it was, smack in her face.
"I don't know, " she answered quietly.
Jeongguk frowned at her answer, not knowing what to make of it.
"Okay...," his voice trailed off as he couldn't think of a way to answer her. "Is there a reason why Eira runs away from Taehyung because Taehyung is really concerned."
Cecilia giggled at his question, surprising Jeongguk once more.
She is full of surprises, he thought as he noticed her hazel eyes sparkled with joy.
"What you think is it?" Cecilia asked, suppressing her laughter.
So Taehyung thinks about her huh, she thought as she waited for his answer.
"I don't know, but Taehyung thinks she doesn't like his perfume," Jeonnguk answered to which Cecilia burst out laughing.
Jeongguk couldn't help but join in the laughter as the thought was pretty ridiculous.
Laughing like this is what made life worth living as they both enjoyed each other's company, no name on their relationship.
"I'll give hint, ARMY," she said, finally calming down from all the laughter.
"ARMY?" Jeongguk questioned, making sure he heard her right and Cecilia nodded, only confirming it.
"But, ARMYs don't usually run away from us," Jeongguk told her as he pondered on an answer for this weirdness.
Cecilia shrugged," We did."
"Can't you just tell me?" Jeongguk asked, his mouth pouted slightly which drove Cecilia insane.
"Nope, this is too fun," she replied as she looked down avoiding his gaze because she knew the moment she looked up, her mouth would betray her.
Jeongguk sighed as he realized instead of getting answers, he just got more questions.
"It's getting late, so I'll see you later," Jeongguk stated as he got up from the bench.
"See you," Cecilia replied with a smile.
Jeongguk took a few steps then stopped and looked back.
"Why are you up so late?" he asked curiously.
"I couldn't sleep," she replied.
"Still not tired?" he asked, not knowing what he was saying at the moment.
"I'll go soon," she answered. "I'm always like this."
He nodded as he sent her a little wave and headed back inside.
"What's wrong with you?" he muttered to himself. "Why are you acting so curious?"
because you were stalling time to just be yourself more, his thoughts whispered to which he pretended not to hear.
*****************
"You know I feel like you both are destiny with the number of times you have met him already like wherever you go, you see him or the boys," Eira told her after Cecilia told her everything about last night. "I still can't believe Taehyung thought he doesn't smell nice. He smells too nice if you ask me."
"It's just a coincidence," Cecilia tried justifying even though there was no denying the fact that she kept seeing them. "Don't mess with the poor boy, will you? You are teasing him too much. Just give in already."
Eira threw her pillow at Cecilia in annoyance.
"Stop it," Eira whined as she watched Cecilia catch the pillow. "And it's definitely not a coincidence."
"What do you want me to say?" Cecilia asked. "That you are right because trust me after we leave, they won't even remember us."
"I highly doubt the web will forget us especially since the concept photos are out," Eira replied, showing Cecilia her phone.
"What?!" Cecilia exclaimed in horror as she grabbed Eira's phone and stared at the images to make sure they were real.
"I thought we weren't going to debut until for at least a few months, so we had enough time to settle this matter and leave," Cecilia told her as she started to move around, feeling anxious.
"I thought so too, but it seems like since BTS are helping us, they think we will be ready," Eira answered, understanding her friend's reaction as she too had the same feeling when she found out after waking up.
"When did you find out?" Cecilia asked her nervously.
"When I woke up," Eira explained. "The girls told me and all I could do was smile and nod."
"Cecilia and Eira!" Mina called as she entered their room. "the manager wants you and he looks kinda angry so good luck!"
Cecilia ad Eira exchanged worried looks as they went outside.
"Follow me," Manager Kang Min ordered to which the girls followed silently, not wanting the manager to take his anger out on them.
"Makeup room?" Eira asked carefully.
"You will have training from today until you are good, and then you will replace two of the makeup artists," Manager Kang min explained. "As for your idol training, you will still do it along with this, so you do this in the morning and Idol training from noon."
The girls nodded and the manager disappeared, still unhappy with the situation.
"I'm worried," Eira said. "Isn't this all a bit too much like we are not even professionals at any of this."
"I know what you mean, but I know they are trying to help us, so let's do our best," Cecilia encouraged. "At least we are in this together and didn't you want to be a singer anyway, so this is your chance."
"You are right," Eira replied. "I guess I'm just scared."
"Me too," Cecilia replied as she watched the door open and in came the same makeup artist that had helped her before.
"So Young!" Cecilia beamed.
"I guess I get to finally teach you all my tricks and secrets," So Young giggled.
"Eira, this is So Young, the person I told you about and So Young, this is Eira, my best friend," Cecilia introduced them.
"Nice to meet you," Eira said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you as well," So Young replied with a smile of her own. "Since this baby just keeps getting bigger, I really hope you are both fast learners.
"We'll do our best!" the girls saluted in unison, making So Young laugh.
So Young was a great teacher full of patience. She never got annoyed at them for messing up and didn't mind repeating or even going slower for them to pick it up easier. The best thing about her was how encouraging she was by always complimenting their work and shouting encouraging words. The session didn't even feel like training, but more of an art class where you could actually learn the art and enjoy it.
"So, Cecilia anything new happened between you and Jeonguk?" So Young asked as Cecilia worked on the lips of the dummy.
"A lot happened actually," Eira stated as she looked for the right color to go on the lips.
"Ooo tell me," So Young said excitedly.
So, Eira narrated everything as Cecilia tried her best to ignore the conversation and focus on the dummy in front of her.
"That's so cute and I can't believe you ran because of Taehyung, is he your bias?" So Young asked.
"Yeah," Eira replied shyly.
"Oooo, you like him," So Young teased to which Eira looked the other way in embarrasment.
"By the way, why did you want to know about Cecilia and Jeongguk?" Eira asked, changing the subject.
"Because I can tell she has feelings for him after the whole jacket incident and Jeongguk seems really cheerful theses days," So Young stated. "In other words, his mood changed after he met her."
"Why would I change his mood?" Cecilia asked. " He has Yun hee, so I'm sure she helped him along with BTS"
"Now, you are making excuses," So Young told her. "I have been working here for ten years now, I was twenty-three when I joined, so I saw these boys go through a lot, and yes, Jeonguuk was happy when they started dating, but now, their relationship has changed so much."
"What do you mean?" Cecilia asked worriedly.
"She doesn't know anything about Jeongguk except what he tells her and even I have seen him lie to her that he is fine when I had to hide his puffy eyes after he cried and hadn't slept all night," So Young explained sadly. She felt really attached to BTS as she had always worked with them and saw them grow and get into relationships.
"You know what's worse?" So Young asked. "He won't ever admit this."
"I don't know what to say," Cecilia replied, feeling hurt that he was hurting. She still remembered how worried she used to get about him while thinking that maybe he wasn't fine, but as soon as she saw him with Yun Hee, she always thought he was happy.
"Just promise me, that you will help him," So Young pleaded. "I know I shouldn't be asking you this especially because this will only hurt you, but I'm so scared he will do something reckless again."
"Again?" Cecilia asked, already afraid to hear the answer, but she wanted to know.
"He was about to cut himself when Jimin had caught him and screamed at him for even thinking about this," So Young replied in a defeated tone.
"I'll help him," Cecilia said as she closed her eyes, not believing that she was really just about to say this. "I was going to help him even if you didn't tell me."
So Young looked at her and gave her a warm smile.
"You are the sweetest girl ever, but I know I'm contradicting myself but stop whenever you feel like you can't do it, and if you can't then, don't do it because your mental health is important too. I can tell that your love for him runs deep by how worried Eira looks," So Youg told her.
"Love," Cecilia repeated that word, still trying to understand where it came from and why her. "I think this will help me realize that there are other guys out there and he is not the only guy."
"I'll see you tomorrow since times up," So Young said as she heard her alarm ring.
The girls bid her farewell and left for training.

The sweet melody played as Jeongguk moved across the dancefloor, feeling the rhythm of the music. He was doing so well until he messed up once again.
"Dammit, " Jeongguk swore as he failed to get the move right.
He was here for an hour now and for some reason, he couldn't get the dance routine right. The last thing he wanted to do was disappoint his hyungs and that's exactly what he was going to if he didn't perfect this move. Dancing had never been a problem for him, so why now, from all the times.
"Jeonguk?" Hoseok asked as he walked into the practice room. "You look worried."
"It's nothing really," Jeongguk lied.
"It's that dance move, isn't it?" Hoseok asked, immediately understanding the younger's thoughts. "I think you need to relax. Remember, dancing is not about doing the moves but understanding what music tells you to do."
"I know, but it feels like I forgot," Jeongguk finds himself confessing. "Nothing seems perfect anymore."
"Dancing is not about being perfect," Hoseok told him. "You have to enjoy the music."
"I can't do it hyung and I don't think I can anymore," Jeongguk explained. "Maybe, I should take a break and not join the comeback."
Hoseok's heart sank when he heard him say this. They have been performing for years together and whenever one of them is absent, the performance always felt incomplete especially when Jeongguk disappeared because he was their littlest brother that they all cherished so much. Also, he was their center, lead dancer and most importantly their main vocalist which no matter who replaced, never felt full without him. He made them laugh whenever they were feeling down and it hurt knowing that they are failing to help him.
Most of all, they were all scared of what Jeongguk might do to himself like what if he ends up killing himself. No. They had to figure this out and find a way to bring Jeongguk back.
"No, you will join this comeback and you will nail this dance move," Hoseok encouraged. " We all believe in you Jeongguk, so forget about this dance move and take a break today. A new day will make things better for sure."
Jeongguk sighed, knowing there was no way to convince his hyung out of this and went to grab his things and head to his room.
Maybe it will be better tomorrow, he thought as he left the practice room.
************
Jeongguk arrived at his dorm to find his fiancee. He should have been happy to see his busy fiancee, but she never showed up without telling him unless it was something bad and honestly, he was in no mood to for this.
"Hey," Jeongguk faked a smile while greeting her.
"Hi," she said and gave him a little peck on his cheeks.
"Everything okay?" he asked her.
"I hope so," she replied as they headed inside.
"Just give me a few minutes and I'll be back," Jeongguk told her as he headed inside to take a quick shower and change. He wished he could take a longer shower to calm himself down, but it seemed like luck was not on his side today as he was forced to get out and face whatever problem lay in front of him.
"So, tell me," Jeonnguk said, putting on the best smile he could muster as he sat down beside her.
"I heard from my sister that you didn't pick her to be her coach," Yun hee told him. "You know she always wanted to learn from you and now I hear you picked scandal girl."
Jeongguk's smile immediately fell after she said that and he took a deep breath, calming his nerves down.
"Her name is Cecilia and she is actually a good dancer, so I decided to pick her," Jeongguk explained. "I can see that she has potential. Plus, her style is similar to mine."
"If she is good, then any of the members can help her, you know," Yun hee argued, not liking the fact that her husband was anywhere near Cecilia. "My sister is really good too and you should be staying away from Cecilia anyway."
"It's my choice Yun hee and I'm sorry, but your sister is not good," Jeongguk replied sternly, finally losing some of his cool. "You already know that your sister is not the nicest person ever and her dancing is not either. It's my choice who I want to choose and who I don't."
"That's not nice of you Jeongguk, " Yun hee said bitterly. "My sister would never be mean for no reason. She has short temper, but that's it, and I'm sure with a bit more practice, she will be the main dancer."
"Main dancer?" Jeongguk scoffed. "The only person I see as a main dancer is Cecilia or Hee Young."
"Can you just stop mentioning Cecilia?" Yun hee asked pissed. "I still can't believe you gave her your jacket."
"Just leave Yun hee, " Jeongguk replied while standing up. "Talk to me when you are thinking straight and are not fed with whatever crap your sister filled you with."
"I'm not done with you," Yun hee stated furiously.
"But I am, so leave because I'm tired and in no mood for your crap," Jeongguk said, walking her outside his dorm room and closing the door.
Jongguk pulled at his hair in frustration as he decided that another shower was necessary.
*********
I been through a lot, hence my bad update schedule. I gave my SAT exam in one week and I just hope I did well enough and the other week, I had the best day of my life at a BTS concert. I can't explain how happy I was to be there and seeing them live was something I wish I could do daily. Let me tell you, they were the most genuine people ever. They respected our religion and I couldn't be more thankful. I hope you all get to see them live one day.
I will try my best to update every week, but it's so hard since school exhausts me to the max level, so I'm really sorry for making you wait so long.I'm really sorry.
So, how was the chapter? Good or bad?
