Chapter 10: Choosing

He stared outside his window, his mind occupied as he clutched the paper tightly.

I guess she is happy, Dante thought as he brought the paper to his eyes to make sure the heading was real.

He heard a knock and watched his assistant appear with a bunch of papers and placed it on his desk.

"Sir, about the girl," the assistant spoke as his eyes darted back and forth and his voice held a slight quiver.

"Just prepare the jet," Dante ordered as he dragged the papers closer to take a look.

The assistant nodded and scurried out of the room.

Since that day, he hadn't seen Cecilia around, but he was feeling content. A little piece of him was restored, not knowing how long it would last until it was gone once more.

"Guess what?" Jimin asked as he put down his water bottle, sweat dripping down him.

"I don't know hyung, tell me," Jeongguk replied, shrugging as he wiped his face gently with a towel.

"It's time for us to check out the trainees!" Jimin exclaimed with excitement as he loved to meet the new people that were going to join their family.

"Oh boy," Jeonnguk sighed as he scrunched his nose with last year's experience. "Please tell me it's a boy group."

"It's both," Jimin replied with a chuckle as he remembered last year's event. Jeonnguk had to interact with girls who clearly had a huge crush on him and all they did was say Oppa this Oppa that. Even Jimin was confused about how they got in, but when he saw their talent, he understood. Now, the girls were normal around Jeongguk more like avoided him because they were embarrassed about treating him like that.

"Let's go, I guess," Jeongguk heaved another sigh as he put down the towel.

Jimin and Jeongguk walked and met up with the boys.

"You are late," Namjoon scolded as he narrowed his eyes at them.

"I guess we are Jimin today," Jeongguk said with a laugh.

"This is not funny anymore," Jimin huffed with a glare directed towards the younger.

Namjoon rolled his eyes, but a smile still spread on his lips.

"The trainees are waiting so let's go," Namjoon replied as he opened the door.

The trainees all looked shyly at the boys as they entered in their own special.

"Hello, we are BTS!" they exclaimed their greeting to which all the trainees responded with their own.

"So, I know you guys must be all nervous to perform, but we don't want you to be," Namjoon stated with a smile on his face. "I want you to pretend we are not here and do your best."

Cecilia watched as the boy group performed in front of them with almost no flaw. Their presence was dominating despite the light and airy music. Her eyes darted at BTS who had been staring at the performance with a blank a face and occasional whispering causing Cecilia to shift in her place and bite her lower lip.

As soon as the performance stopped, it was their turn and she quickly looked at Eira who looked as frightened as her.

"I can't do it," Cecilia whispered to Eira, her head down unable to take another step.

"You are actually good," Eira told her while holding her hands. "I'm the one who still struggles with the choreography the most."

"Don't be silly, I'm just like 0.0001% better," Cecilia replied encouragingly. "We are both in this together. Yes, I can catch on moves faster but it doesn't make me any better right now. You know what, let's just fail together."

Cecilia giggled to which Eira smiled as well.

Black Rose glared at both girls.

"If we fail, you are dead," Hanna told them with her hands crossed.

Cecilia rolled her eyes as they took their position.

The music started.

Jeongguk watched the way the girls danced and felt they were kind of stiff. Instead of feeling the music, it seemed like they were trying to chase and perfect art that couldn't be practiced, but then his eyes wandered on Cecilia and he took a double-take.

She is going to be debut? he thought as his eyes widened and he looked at the other members who had noticed both girls.

"Hyung, can you believe this?" Jeonnguk asked while whispering at Yoongi.

"It's had to believe but I guess they are stuck," Yoongi replied to the younger and his eyes analyzed through all the members. "I don't think these girls are debuting any time soon anyways."

Jeongguk nodded and looked back. His eyes, however, kept landing on Cecilia who seemed to know what she was doing more than the rest. He could tell she was feeling the music and allowing the music to direct her rather than fighting and making a new way. She had interpreted the art of music and he couldn't help but smile when she closed her eyes slightly while dancing. Her focus wasn't at anyone but the melody and when her eyes opened once again, she stared into his eyes.

He still hadn't interpreted the way her eyes held light or little stars, he wasn't sure and he kinda liked it?

Her eyes had left him and Jeonnguk heard Jimin's teasing voice which snapped him out of his daze. A little further away from him, he found Taehyung blushing crimson.

"You are so dead Jiminnie," Taehyung said while gritting his teeth. It was just a mere attraction to a pretty girl and Taehyung kept telling himself that it would disappear, but Eira just kept dancing in front of his eyes and here she was, actually dancing. He could tell that she was struggling but unlike the others, he wanted to get up and teach her as an excuse to spend time with her.

"We both know how that will go," Jimin chuckled as he mocked Taehyung with his hands.

Jeonnguk knew exactly what was happening and a smirk formed on his slightly pouty lips.

"Thinking about someone?" Jeonnguk asked innocently, his eyes holding a little glint of mischief in them.

"Not you too," Taehyung groaned as he pulled at his silver locks slightly.

Her mind and heart in disarray, she stumbled on the floor and fell as the music stopped. She closed her eyes refusing to open them as she didn't want to look at anyone's face. A soft hand grabbed onto her hands and she felt the warmth spreading through her.

"Are you okay?" Jimin asked worriedly, noticing how her eyes were closed.

Cecilia's eyes flew open and she quickly pushed herself off the floor.

"I'm okay," Cecilia mumbled, looking down unable to meet anyone's eyes. "I'm sorry."

"Why would you say sorry?" Jimin asked kindly. " Even we fall on stage sometimes."

"You mean you fall on stage all the time," Jeongguk grinned to which Taehyung snickered in the background.

Jimin just threw them a glare and looked back at her.

"You did well," Jimin stated and walked to where everyone was standing.

"Park Jimin freaking held your hand!" Eira exclaimed when the boys were out of earshot for discussion.

"And I embarrassed myself in front of all of BTS," Cecilia cried in frustration.

"I can't believe you messed up," Youra stated with a frown on her face. "Do you have any idea how hard we work?"

"I know it's hard and I'm so sorry," Cecilia replied, understanding where Youra was coming from despite not liking her.

"You don't understand, we have been wanting to debut for three years now," Youra replied as tears brimmed her eyes. "You are so selfish. I'm sure you did this for attention."

Jeonnguk had forgotten his phone and entered only to be met with a beautiful scene. There was no way he was tolerating this behavior and walked to the scene, standing in front of Cecilia.

"This is not how you treat your members," Jeongguk spoke seriously, his eyes narrowed, posture straight and tone held no remorse, shocking everyone since Jeongguk was never like that. "You are the leader so act like one."

"I don't blame her," Cecilia explained with caution not because she was scared but because she wanted him to calm down. "They have been practicing for years and I messed up. Anyone would be mad."

Jeongguk turned around and gazed into her hazel orbs.

"You don't deserve to beat yourself down for no reason," Jeonnguk spoke gently, his words held so much meaning that she wanted to laugh. He was killing himself yet he was worried about her from all people. As a fan, she couldn't watch him do this and if this was fate then she would help him.

"You don't either," she whispered so softly that her voice could have been carried away with the wind, but he heard it.

"Jeongguk!" The members called and he looked at her again one last time.

"We need to talk," Jeongguk replied to her as her words carved into his mind. She was driving him crazy and he had to talk to her. He ran back outside to make a decision.

"What happened?" Jin asked.

"They were blaming her and I found that wrong," Jeonnguk explained. "She is new to all of this so it's only fair they are supportive."

"I get that those girls are stressed but you are right, they should not degrade any of their members," Jin agreed.

"So, for the boys, I think their debut day is perfect because I can see they are ready," Namjoon stated. "As for the girls, they are perfect singers and rappers but their dancing...."

Namjoon's voice trailed off as he glanced at the girls.

"I do have a note from PD nim and I have no idea how we will manage it," Namjoon added, bringing out the note and showing it to the members.

"Helping them?" Hoseok asked as his eyes widened in shock.

"Yeah," Namjoon said with a sigh. "Since they are seven now, we all choose a girl we want to help."

"I choose Eira," Taehyung replied with almost no hesitation that the members looked at him with their eyebrows raised up.

"We would never dare choose your girl," Jimin laughed in amusement.

"What do you mean?" Hoseok inquired, not understanding when this build-up happened. "You know what, explain later."

"I'll take Cecilia," Jeongguk stated after thinking about it."I see myself in her and I think I can help."

"Nooo," Jimin and Hoseok replied at the same time, making all the members look at them this time.

Jimin blushed at the attention.

"She seems like the easiest to deal with and we definitely have history," Jimin said.

"I agree with Jimin," Hoseok nods. "I feel like it would be nice to deal with her since she seems to have a vague idea of what she is doing and please jimin even I have history with her."

"You have a girlfriend so back off," Jimin replied as he playfully pushes his hyung back. "That history was you being a stalker."

"I have history with her as well," Jeongguk said, rolling his eyes. "I have the most history with her out of both of you."

"You are an almost married man so let me have a chance," Jimin whined. "Why are you guys so adamant on having her?"

Jeongguk felt taken back by that. Jimin was right. He was going to get married in three months, but he just had to talk to her.

"All of you shut up!" Namjoon yelled."What's this?"

"I think it's fair that Jeonnguk deals with Cecilia since he said her name first and if there are any problems, you can switch later," Namjoon added in a firm tone.

"I want Hee Young then," Jimin blurted before anyone could say anything.

"I want Mina then," Hoseok added quickly.

"Did you guys seriously take all the easy girls?" Jin asked.

"Hyung, let's be honest here, you struggle with dancing and they are struggling, so I think you can help them the most," Jimin replied sweetly.

"You brat," Jin gritted his teeth, controlling his hands from chocking Jimin. " You are just saying this because you don't want to deal with them."

Jimin smiled innocently.

"Sorry hyung. I choose Chun Ae," Yoongi stated.

"I choose Hannah," Jin finally added.

"Fine, I get the leader," Namjoon answered defeatedly.

They walked back into the room to announce the results.

"So about Youth, you guys have definitely improved enough to debut this November, so Congratulations!"

The moment Youth heard the news, each member broke down into tears of happiness. One member cheered while another hugged one another. They were one step away from making their dream come true and they just found themselves breaking into little smiles every few seconds.

After Youth left, BTS looked at the girls with pitty.

"You won't debut yet," Namjoon informed them with sympathy. "But, we will help you from now on. Each of us is responsible for one of you."

"I really hope I get Jeongguk," Youra whispered in excitement. "I'm sure he will pick me after all he knows me the most."

"I don't really mind who I get," Mira said."it's an honor to get help from any of them."

Then, they all quietened down as they watched Jeongguk walk towards them.

Nervousness spread through the group as fast as the plague as his silhouette reached nearer and nearer.

At first, it was hard to tell who he was walking to as he casually strolled towards them, but then he moved right.

Cecilia looked at him and then felt her heart for a second, feeling the irregularity.

I'm sure it's not me. It can't be. It shouldn't be, Cecilia thought, but then Jeongguk stood right in front of her and gave her his famous bunny smiling showing his cute little teeth and his eyes crinkled from the corner.

"Hey, partner," Jeongguk greeted her.

"You look like you have seen a ghost, but I'm real," Jeonnguk added as his honey-like voice rung in her ears.

"Uh yeah, hi," she managed to say as she struggled to push down her feelings that seemed to break her locks whenever he was around and on top that her inner fangirl wanted to scream: Jeon Jeongguk smiled at me! Eeeeeeeek!

The next person was Taehyung who casually walked towards Eira acting like he didn't really care. Eira admired his beauty as he took gradual steps towards them. He was a work of art that she would never get tired of. Lost and absorbed in him, she didn't realize he was right in front of her except when her mind screamed: That is Kim Taehyung and you are not dreaming! Naturally, her instincts kicked in and she was about to run away when Cecilia held her back and gave an apologetic smile to Taehyung.

"Let's just say there will a lot running with her," Cecilia told him then mouthed Eira to relax.

"Thanks for the warning," Taehyung replied not sure what to make of it. He was used to people running after him but not away.

Cecilia nodded and jumped slightly when she noticed Jeongguk as it had completely slipped her mind that he was still there.

After all of Black Rose got assigned, it was time for the meeting to close.

"See you on Friday," Jeonnguk said, giving her a little wave as he left.

Cecilia waved back, trying her best to stay calm then diverted her attention back to Eira who was stuck where Taehyung had left her.

"We have training tomorrow so hurry up," Cecilia whined as she attempted to drag Eira.

"I have training with Kim Taehyung," Eira kept mumbling. "I have training with Kim Taehyung!"

"You have to save me. I can't deal with this. My bias teaching me how to dance sounds amazing but I'm just going to embarrass myself. Do you think he chose me? That's not possible, right?" Eira kept muttering having a mental breakdown as Cecilia sat on the dancefloor waiting for her best friend to finish rambling. She definitely understood why her friend was going through this, but Cecilia didn't want to panic just yet.

"Eira!" Cecilia whined again. "I'm seriously going to have a mental breakdown because of you. I have it worse than you because my freaking bias wants to talk to me about I don't know what. Plus, I'm sure they just played rock paper scissors for this since they play that for everything and you got Taehyung with luck."

"Say what?" Eira asked snapping her attention to her friend. "Did you say something to him."

"I might have muttered something like you don't either and he heard it," Cecilia said, feeling the anxiety kick in.

"Girl, you are so dead," Eira said then burst out laughing,

"Go ahead laugh at my misery but at least I don't run away from my bias, making him think he is bad," Cecilia replied, smirking at the end.

"Oh no!" Eira exclaimed, "Do you think he took it that way?"

"Maybe," Cecilia answered, walking away slowly.

"Are you trying to lock me here?" Eira asked as Cecilia started walking out and closing the door.

Eira ran out and Cecilia squealed as she ran as fast as she could to the dorms, but stopped when she saw the maknae line in the hallway.

"I...caught you," Eira panted as she held onto her friend not realizing that Cecilia had stopped on purpose.

"Shhh," Cecilia hushed.

"How dare you-" Eira spoke, but got cut off when Cecilia covered her mouth and pointed at the hallway.

"I don't understand why a fan would run away from me," Taehyung said bewildered. "Do I smell bad?"

"Honestly, I think it's your perfume," Jeongguk replied as he smiled knowing how it would end.

"I seriously had enough of your nonserious attitude," Taehyung told him annoyed. "This is serious."

"Only because you are smitten over her," Jimin said while rolling his eyes.

"Forget about that, will you?" Taehyung groaned.

"Maybe she is shy," Jeongguk suggested.

Just then, they heard the door a crash.

"Is someone there?" Jeongguk asked.

Cecilia cursed as she looked at Eira to make sure she was okay before getting up herself.

The boys walked closer towards the noise, making sure not to make any sound.

Please don't see us, Cecilia wished, but it was too late as Taehyung and Eira made eye contact causing her to run right into the open.

"What the hell Eira!'Cecilia yelled as she ran into the open as well, not realizing the boys looking at them.

"Cecilia?" Jeongguk asked, his eyebrows raised up, waiting for an explanation.

"I uhhhh I," Cecilia tried speaking, but her mind went blank, so she did the next best thing and follow her friend's method: run away from the scene.
