Chapter 16: Sibling Fight

Christopher's P.O.V

I felt like I was hyperventilating. I rushed inside the castle and ran past laughing people in dresses and some in tuxedos. I searched for any of my friends. I found Shauna in a blood red dress. She had her pale white hair in a long braid down her back and her green eyes sparkled with amusement. She had a glass filled with champagne. I grabbed her arm and she jumped. She turned to look at me with a confused expression. "The Moirai! The Fates!" I whisper-yelled at her. Her eyes widened and we went searching for the other three. When we found them, we went into a unoccupied room and they looked at me confused. "The Fates were here." I told them. "WHAT!?" the three yelled at me.

"What did they do!?" Erica asked. She was in a sparkling blue dress that was tight in the torso and the skirt stopped at her knees. Her blonde hair had princess curls and her red eyes held a questioning and worried look. "Cutting a red string, glowing orange..." I said, falling to my knees and silently sobbing. "W-Why are you crying?" Silver asked, sounding concerned. My shoulders started to shake and tears slowly fell from my eyes. I stayed silent. "What did they say?" Alex asked, slowly and calmly. "That 'she wouldn't survive the journey.'" I cried. That's when everyone blew. Erica fell to the floor crying as well. Shauna let silent tears fall, even though she barely knew Rebecca. Alex and Silver were white and frozen. The only thought in my head was Rebecca's going to die.

"I refuse to accept it!" Erica cried. "Rebecca isn't dying on us!" Silver said, his voice cracking. "Sounds of Nature!" Alex chanted. The next thing we knew, the sounds of birds chirping, rustling leaves, and a waterfall slowly calmed us down. When everyone was calmed down, Alex canceled the spell. "Look at us! Pitying and crying over something that hasn't happened yet! What we need to do is protect her and spend loads of time with her. Chris, you be the best boyfriend you can be. Erica, be the amazing best friend I know you can be. Silver, you, me and Shauna are going to be the greatest friends we could be to her. Got that!?" Alex said in a commanding voice. We all nodded. "Don't tell the demons or the Phoenix King about this. They can't know." I said.

Everyone looked confused. "They would tell her and she would feel like she needed to spend time with us until her end." I explained. Everyone then nodded in agreement. "Good. Now let's go enjoy this party." I said, opening the door and listening to the music that just started. When we got back to the main party, we found that Rebecca, Sabrina, and Seraph had arrived. We went straight to them with big smiles and Rebecca looked at our faces suspiciously. "What did you do?" she asked with a glare. "Nothing, I just wanted to say that you look stunning in your silver dress and I wanted to ask you if you wanted to dance?" Rebecca looked at me for a minute. Then she smiled and took my extended arm. She looped her's with mine and we moved towards the dance floor.

We danced for a while, but then went back to our friends who sat at one of the tables in the Castle's big corridor. Aquila went onto the dance floor with a microphone. "Attention! I would like all our guests to please sit at one of the tables!" he said into the microphone with a big smile. All the guest moved to the tables until only Aquila and Eryr, who was wearing black dress pants and a orange dress shirt, stayed in the middle. Aquila was wearing the same clothing as last time. "I would like to thank all of you for coming! We have many VIP guests here tonight! Such as the King of the Leviathan's, Seraph, and the heir to the throne of Lilith, Sabrina!" Aquila called. The two demons got up from the table and walked towards the center.

They both bowed to the audience then moved to stand beside Eryr. Eryr didn't look pleased that he was standing beside non-Pheonix's. Aquila gave Eryr a pointed look, but stayed smiling. "Next up is the ambassador for the Banshees! Shauna Marwolaeth!" Aquila called. Shauna walked away from us, almost looking like she was gliding on the air, and bowed to the audience when she got in front of him. Then she went and stood beside Seraph. "Next we have Medusa!" he called. Then, after her, he started calling out other names, until he got to mine. "And we have Christopher Draco! Now before you all start rejecting him," Aquila shot a pointed look at Eryr again, "I would like you all to be nice! Christopher Draco everyone!"

I paled, but got up anyway. I walked stiffly to the center and bowed. Then I quickly stood beside Silver who was called up before me. Now, all that was left at our table were Alex, Rebecca, and Erica. "Now," Aquila continued, "all of you may know that, I have a missing daughter." When he said that, the crowd nodded. "Well, I would like to say that I have found her! Rebecca! Would you please?" he called.

Rebecca's P.O.V

I slowly got up and made my way towards my father. Why call me up!? When I got to the other side of him, everyone gasped and started whispering. I picked up the words "The missing Princess." "Her Highness has returned!" "She has the Queen's eyes and her looks." Father shushed everyone by raising his unoccupied hand. "Yes. This is my missing daughter. Now, I'll have he-" he was interrupted by an unearthly scream. We all shot our heads towards Shauna who was now in a black cloack and shawl, had her hair white and disheveled, her usually green eyes were pitch black, and her skin had turned grey. She was in front of the crowd, screaming horribly and pointing a taloned hand at random people. She then turned and screamed at the Queen of the nymphs, Fauna Flora.

I glanced at Erica and saw her pale. Then, like it never even happened, Shauna was back to normal, but panting. She almost fell if it wasn't for Silver running up and catching her. I looked at my father and he looked at me. He then looked at Eryr and nodded. He turned towards the crowd and said "Tonight we protect the ones predicted to die! Banshees only scream when one of the paths of fate shows death! Tonight, we listen to the warning of this Banshee and find the intruder! Our main priority, protect Queen Fauna! Dismissed!" Father commanded with a serious look and a stern voice. All the fire birds nodded and went off in a hurry. Erica and Alex came rushing as all of us turned to a nearly sobbing Queen.

"Why Fates!? Why!? Please don't kill me! I have done nothing wrong!" Fauna cried. I saw Erica, Alex, Silver, Shauna, and Chris flinch at the word fates. Why though? I went up to a Fauna, who now sat on her knees while crying, and knelt before her. I gripped one of her hands and said "Don't worry. Everyone here will protect you. I promise. Nobody here will let you die." She looked at me and I gave her a smile. Then Eryr ruined the moment by saying "Everyone except for the Dark Dragon." We all looked at him who was glaring at Chris. "Ugh! Didn't we go over this with you last time!? Dark Dragons breathe black flames! Not regular coloured ones!" I yelled at him, standing up and getting into his face. Sadly, he was 6'4" and I was 5'8 so that was impossible.

He glared down at me. "Says the traitor of their own kind." Eryr retaliated. "That's because you were taking me back by force!" I screamed at him. "What!?" Dad said, looking at Eryr disappointingly. Though we ignored him. "Because you were supposed to be here, hating the Dark Dragons!" Eryr hissed at me. "I probably wouldn't be hating them still! We had no proof that it was really them! Just a dragon that looked black surrounded by red flames!" I screamed back. Now, I was gaining my black feathers in my hair and it was slowly turning purple. "Rebecca..." Grandfather said in a warning voice. "Stay out of this!" Eryr and I yelled at him. "You weren't adopted and told that Dark Dragons are horrible beings like I was by my foster parents." Eryr finally yelled at me.

"At least you had parents to care for you!" I screamed back. Now, my wings and tail were out. My eyes were probably orange as well. "Urgh! False Accuser!" I called him. "Mix!" Eryr retaliated. "Non-Believer!" I called him. "HALF-BREED!" he yelled back. Everyone gasped. Since learning about what I am, I figured out that the statement 'Half-Breed' is a derogatory term in this mythical creature society. So, naturally, I recoiled and felt like I was just called a slut. Eryr's eyes widened. "I didn't-" but I didn't stay for the rest of the sentence. I ran away and out of the room with tears welling up. I heard my friends calling me, but I didn't look back at them.

I didn't look back.
