Sera and the rest of the pack had been at school when they got the news about several murders and of course, Stiles had to make a big deal out of it.

"An axe-murderer?" Kira asks once they had all gotten a full explanation.

"A family-murdering axe-murderer!" Sera rolls her eyes, Stiles was blowing this way out of proportion.

"I already heard about it." Scott said.

"Wait, what? You did? How?"

"My mom called me. She knew we'd see it on the news." Scott explained.

"Perfect! Let's go!" Why was this kid always so excited about this stuff?

Whoa, whoa- we've got econ. in five minutes..."

"All right, did you forget the part about the family-murdering axe-murderer?" Stiles asks and once again Sera rolls her eyes.

"Did you forget your dad's the sheriff? They want us to stay out of it." Scott points out

"Are you guys kidding me? There's a family-murdering axe-murderer and we're not going to do anything about it?" Stiles asks, waving his hands around.

"Maybe we should just let the adults handle it..." Kira suggested and Sera nodded her head at the girl's idea.

"So, the two of you, you just want to stay here, school, go to class?" Stiles asks, Scott and Kira nodding. "Never heard anything so irresponsible in my life!"

"See you at tryouts?" Stiles waves Scott off.

"Check on my mom for me!" Sera yells after him and Stiles gives her a thumbs up. Sera said goodbye to Scott and Kira and walked to her next class. She had hoped she'd run into Liam at some point but she had no such luck.

"Terrible! Horrifying! Pathetic! Unbelievably pathetic!" Those are the words she heard coach yelling at the boys trying out for lacrosse when she walked towards the bleachers to watch Liam, Scott, and Stiles during her free period. Of course the man was yelling at the kids, some of which had only started the school this year, Liam included. Sera smiled at Kira and Malia as she sat in front of them and started focusing on the tryouts.

"What's wrong with you?" Malia suddenly asked Kira.

"Me? Nothing." Kira answered back.

"You reek of anxiety, and it's distracting. What's going on?" Sera turned around. That's not exactly how you should be starting this kind of conversation but it's Malia.

"Scott and I sort-of had this thing happen... But it wasn't much of a thing... And I'm starting to think it never was anything at all." Kira explained.

"Aww! You and Scott would be so cute together!" Sera said smiling at Kira.

"What do you want it to be?" Malia asked Kira.

"More." She simply said.

"Isn't the team captain supposed to be one of the best players on the team? Or good?" Kira asked after they had been watching the boys for a little bit. Sera snorted and turned around to respond.

"I think Scott's just having an off day." Kira nodded and they both looked back at the field. A few minutes later Scott and Stiles actually made a block.

"Yes!" Kira said. But on the next go, it was Liam's turn and he, of course, got passed them. Sera knew he would, Scott and Stiles hadn't exactly been doing very well today.

"That's how you do it! That's how it's done!" Coach yells clapping. All of a sudden Malia stands up.

"That was luck! Do-over!" Coach looks back at Malia.

"Sweetheart, there are no do-overs- this is a practice." Coach says to her and attempts to go back to his tryout.

"Ten bucks on Scott and Stiles!" Malia yells at him.

"...I'll take that action." Coach says and Sera throws her hands up rolling her eyes. "Hey! Get back in there, Liam!" Here we go again. Liam runs at them but this time Scott blocks him. Though instead of a normal block he must have used some wolf power because Liam goes flying into the air and lands on his foot. Sera could hear it crack from the bleachers. Sera shoots up out of her seat and runs onto the field, coach not far behind her.

"Liam!" Sera runs up to the group of players surrounding the boy on the ground holding his ankle. "Move out of my way." She says shoving some random kid to the side. Sera kneels down next to Liam and starts examining his ankle.

"Hey! Don't push my players!" Coach yells at the girl and she spins around to look at him.

"I'll push whoever I want!" She snaps and coach takes a step back, raising his hands in surrender. "Are you okay?" Sera asks Liam.

"I'm okay, Ser. I'm alright coach." He says and Sera feels bad for the boy he just wanted to play lacrosse and now he might not be able to. Liam starts to stand up and Sera helps him. But, when he tries to put weight in his foot he screams out in pain and Sera helps him shift most of his weight onto her. "I think it's my leg."

"I think we should take him to the nurse." Stiles says.

"You think?" Sera snaps at him and Stiles rears back much like the way coach did previously. Scott and Stiles take Liam away from Sera and start walking him towards the school, Sera following behind.

Scott, Liam, Stiles, and Sera stood in the hallway waiting for Melissa to finish up with the patient she was currently seeing. Ms. McCall walked out of the room to see the four teens one of which was in pain and the second looked pissed.

"Uh... hi mom." Scott said and Melissa gave him a look. Melissa got Liam settled in a room and Scott, Stiles and Sera waited out in the hallway.

"I got to get going, I promised Malia I'd help her study." Stiles said.

"Sure. I want to check on him, anyway." Scott said.

"Yeah, you're staying in the hallway." Sera says to Scott. "After what you just pulled, which was your doing I'm sure." Sera says turning to Stiles. "You're not talking to Liam until you tell me what the hell is wrong with you."

"... I don't need to say that it wasn't your fault, right?" Stiles says, completely ignoring Sera.

"I'm sorry, what? He nearly killed the kid!" Sera says.

"If he had used any wolf power, that kid wouldn't be limping- he'd be crawling back to the other half of his body!" Stiles tells Sera.

"If I hadn't been so worried about being captain, he wouldn't be hurt, either." Scott says and Sera sighs. Maybe she was a little harsh, but she and Liam had become close fast and he had started to feel like a brother to her.

"It's okay to want something for yourself once in a while. Team captain, Alpha Werewolf... You're still only human." Stiles points out.

"He's right. I'm sorry for snapping at you. I just- Liam's been there for me a lot lately since we're both pretty much always here. I might have been a little more protective than necessary." Sera says to Scott and he smiles and nods at her.

"It's okay, I get it. You were just worried." Stiles says bye to the two and walks down the hallway towards the elevator to leave. Sera turns to Scott.

"I'm gonna check on him. You can come in whenever you're ready." Sera turns and walks into Liam's room.

"It's broken, isn't it?" Liam asks his stepfather after he had fully examined Liam's ankle.

"It's definitely going to need an x-ray." Dr. Geyer says.

"It's broken... And it's my fault..." Liam says looking down. Sera frowns and steps closer to Liam. This is definitely not his fault.

"You want to tell me what happened?"

"I went up against two juniors- one of them is captain of the team." Liam explained.

" I've already talked to them. They're both sorry." Sera says looking at Liam.

"Remember what we always say? "Play smart, not hard."" Dr. Geyer says.

"Are you mad at me?" Liam asks and it almost breaks Sera's heart. This kid deserves the world.

"No, of course not! Your mom might be mad at me for getting you into lacrosse, but maybe we should both wait for the x-ray before we panic. And, trust me... I have more reason to panic than you. It's not over yet. Wait for that x-ray." Dr. Geyer smiles at Sera and walks out of the room.

" I'm sorry you're spending your time here instead with your mom." Liam says.

"I was actually gonna ask you if you minded if I just popped into her room really quick. It wouldn't take long and then I'd be back in here with you-"

"I'll be fine, Sera. Go see your mom. I'll text you after I've had the x-ray." Liam says.

"Are you sure?" Sera asks hesitantly.

"Positive. Go be with your mom." Liam says and Sera smiles at him. She hugs the boy and quickly walks out of the room and down the hallway, stopping at her mother's room. She looks down at the door handle to open the door and saw a red smudge on the door. Sera furrowed her eyebrows but, before she could open the door she heard feet running down the hall towards her and saw Liam being chased by some guy. Liam was struggling on his hurt foot and Sera started running towards him. "Sera! Run!" Sera grabbed Liam and helped him run at much as she could. They run up the stairs until they hit the roof and tried to hide but the guy found them all too quickly. Liam pushed Sera out of the way and the guy stayed focused on Liam.

"Liam!" Sera yells. If only she could do something to stop this before Liam actually got hurt. Sera scrambled around looking for anything that could help her save Liam as the two boys got closer and closer to the edge of the roof. Scott ran in and tried to get close to Liam and the other guy.

"Get back!" The guy yelled at Scott.

"Don't! You don't need to do this. Whatever it is- whatever you are- we can help you." Scott said motioning to Sera and himself. Sera nodded and stepped closer to Scott.

"No, you can't!" The guy yelled.

"Let me help you." Scott insisted.

"Wendigos don't need help- we need food!" With that the guy- wendigo turned around and walked closer to Liam but he kept backing up until he tripped over the side. Sera screamed and a tomahawk was wedged into the wedigo's back. He fell forward and Scott and Sera turned around to see a man with no mouth put a finger to where his lips would have been. Scott and Sera turn around and run to the edge.

"Stay back Ser!" Scott yelled and she decided listening would be the best case for Liam.

"I can't hold on!" Liam yelled. Scott bit Liam's hand.

"Scott!" Sera yelled and ran over to the two.

Okay this is not my best work. I'll probably go back eventually and fix this mess but right now this is what we're rolling with.
