Chapter 14. Declaration.

Please let me stop." the young Ravenclaw girl begged.

Her wrist was cut open and bleeding, the words ''I must not fraternize with dark creatures' engraved on her skin.

"I'll let you stop when you give me that bracelet."

The Ravenclaw looked between her key, its sapphire glowing in the torchlight, her only anchor in this pink hellhole, and her tormentor, the current headmistress.

"No." she spat.

"Then continue." Dolores said, a smirk on her lips.

Amanda was beginning to feel faint with blood loss, her robes soaked with red ichor, but on she wrote, feeling the words etch into her bones.

"Give me your bracelet and it can be over."

"Never."

The ties on her ankles were beginning to cut into her skin but she continued to wiggle, desperate to free herself.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

Amanda felt faint as her eyesight grew blurry.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

She could barely see the words she wrote, the parchment soaked with her blood from both her wrist and quill.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

Help me, King Phantom. Save me.

I think Im... dying.

Her heart began to race and the blood poured out faster.

Behind her laid her older sister, unconscious from being hit by a strange spell.

Seeing Rebecca scream in agony was something Amanda would never ever forget.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

Tears were falling down her face as she remembered how They had been caught.

Many students had scars. But Rebecca was a 6th year. She was smart.

They caught her in the courtyard.

They dragged Amanda to Umbridge, snatching her from her dorm.

At first they had made her watch as her older sister screamed.

And when that had failed to produce a key, they turned to the younger.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

I must not fraternize with dark creatures.

Just when she was about to pass out she felt a strange tingle pass through her, coming fro the bracelet.

It started to glow.

"What are you doing, you wretched child!?"

She felt a cold clammy wrist reach for her but with the last of her strength she pulled away, the chair tipping over, trapping her on the floor next to Amanda, trying to get away from that monster in human skin.

She clawed her way Rebecca, her bracelet glowing just as brightly as her sister's.

Umbridge reached her and grabbed her by the hair just as everything turned green.

In her shock, Umbridge's hand slacked, and Amanda pulled away.

Umbridge's form flickered and faded as she was pulled back to the mortal plane.

"Bloody Hell."

"Its Rebecca and Amanda Crawford."

"She's bleeding!"

The thunder of hoofbeats overcome the voices.

"Lets get them to Icewind." An older boy said.

She felt hands lift her up and the last thing She saw was toxic green eyes.

Danny sat in the ICU, disguised as a human, worry making his eyes glow green.

No.

Not worry.

Rage.

He sat next to the unconscious form of two Ravenclaw girls, sisters, by the looks of it.

The older had simply been unconscious when she was brought here.

The younger was on the brink of death.

And from the looks of it, she had been tortured.

"I should have foresaw this." he said to himself.

"No one expects an adult to do this to a child. We couldn't have known. We did our best to protect them."

Danny looked up at Avalon, no, her mask was off. Sam.

She hugged the sorrowful king tightly. "We can only make this right."

"Even if it means going to war?"

"Justice does not always mean death."

Danny leaned on her shoulder, content to stay with her at that moment.

Then Amanda stirred.

Sam instantly became Avalon, the cold silent assassin and spy to King Phantom.

White bands of light passed over the king and he turned into his royal self, eyes blazing.

"Amanda?" He called. "Amanda, can you hear me?"

With a start, he realized that seeing Rebecca like this would panic her even more.

He gestured to Avalon, who hurriedly closed the curtain, hiding the unconscious 6th year from view.

"Amanda?"

She opened her eyes and the heart monitor started to beep faster.

"Its alright, Amanda. All is well."

"King Phantom?" She said weakly, struggleing to rise, only for Phantom to gently push her down. "Am I dead?" She asked, fear in her eyes.

"You're not dead." He assured her.

"Then how did I-"

"We got you and Rebecca out of there but we're not clear on the details. Can you tell me what happened?"

She looked around in panic. "Where is she? Where am I?"

"Your in Phantom Keep Infirmary. Your sister is in another room. She's okay. You were in much worse shape."

The lie fell easily from his tongue and made him miss the young man who had always blushed and rub his neck nervously whenever he lied. Whatever happened to him?

He died. Phantom reminded himself.

She spoke softly, and it took a it took a lot of prompting but he finally got the story.

He smiled and passed a glowing hand over the 12 year old, who sighed and closed her eyes.

Avalon joined the King in the other room where a ghost boy with dark hair and gold eyes.

He sat next to the unconscious 16 year old, hand on her forehead. "Lucius Annaeus Seneca mentem daemonas."

The girl shuddered but didn't wake.

"Anything?"

The boy snapped to attention. "King Phantom."

"Its alright, Merlin. How is she?"

"Not good my lord." The wizard said. "She is under a grave curse."

"Is there a cure?"

"Yes. But a slow one."

"Please keep at it."

"Yes, King Phantom." Merlin sat back down and continued his work.

Avalon rejoined Phantom in the hall. "What now."

Phantom looked at her. "I speak with Clockwork. I'll take the Professor. But, I fear we may just end up in a bloody war."

Avalon nodded. "They hurt our friends. Children."

"So be it." They said together.
