11. Mr. Fakest
"Where are you gonna sleep tonight?" Anne asked Harry and he just pointed at the king sized bed in his room.
"My bed."
"Aren't you gonna sleep with Louis in the guestroom upstairs? He'll feel lonely without you there." Anne tried to coax the boy into that but it doesn't seem to work when Harry shook his head as he stomped his feet.
"No!"
"Alright, alright, no need to get all worked up, baby." Anne rubbed Harry's arm in a way to calm the boy down and turned to Louis with an apologetic look.
"Louis, you'd have to sleep in here with him in here for a while. It doesn't seem like he's gonna agree to moving to your official bedroom." Anne sighed.
"It's okay, Anne." Louis sent her a reassuring smile.
"If it's alright with you, we can make this the official bedroom of you two." Anne requested but before Louis could answer her, she answered for her own request. "No, it doesn't look like a room of a newly married couple." She scrunched her nose up in distaste making Louis chuckle.
"I don't really mind. If we are being honest, nothing is going the way that would go for a newly married couple. So, there's nothing different." Louis shrugged with a sad smile settled on his lips making Anne's heart tug in sadness.
"I'm sorry, love. It's my fault too, this happened to you. I could've stopped Des. I could've said that this is not right and I could've stood up for Harry and you but I didn't. I was too scared to. I didn't know what he'd do to Harry if he didn't get married, Louis. He's that cruel and he doesn't treat Harry like his own son. He treats the poor boy like some kind of d-disease." Anne's voice started to break.
"His beliefs and his family are what ruined everything ever since the day he married me. You're lucky his parents are dead, Louis." It was silent as both Louis and Anne stared at distance with unreadable expressions but finally, Anne broke the dominance of silence.
"I should've stepped out of this mansion that just always reeked of the dominance of men, the day Des confronted that Harry is not his child. I should've stopped making others happy forgetting about my own happiness and it's my fault Harry became unknown to the world. But- but I had nowhere to go. He took everything my parents had. He took everything away from me. I just have Harry." Anne has fat tears rolling down her rosy cheeks and Louis stared at her shocked for a few moments before stepping forward and embracing her in a hug.
"Sh... It's okay, Anne. We all are okay. I always understand where you are coming from. I understand how you have struggled all your life to live to Desmond's expectations. I accepted my fate and I'll leave one day so you wouldn't have any regrets anymore. Before I go, I'll let the world know that a Harry Styles exists. I'll let the world know, Anne. I'll let the world know." Louis sobbed out his, Anne's and Harry's misfortune under the cruel man named Desmond Styles.
Harry who was in the dining room came out and saw Anne crying, still hugged by Louis. He jumped forward and pulled them apart roughly. He studied Anne's face as he hummed and flapped his hands before questioning the obvious.
"Why mommy crying?"
"It's nothing, baby." Anne settled with the fakest smile towards the clueless boy and wiped her tears. Harry watched her while wiggling his fingers before walking away with a hum.
Anne stared at her son as the boy settled himself on his desk chair and let out a deep sigh.
"I want the world to know him and I want him to know the world." Anne finally spoke up.
"If you give me the chance, I'll show him to the world and I'll also show him the world, Anne. I'm not afraid to break his rules." Louis held a hopeful glint in his blue orbs.
"But I am." Was all Anne's reply before she walked over to where Harry is.
"C'mon, it's time for bed." She patted on his back twice and he stood up from his chair without any complaints since he wanted to go to sleep as well. He went to fall face first to the bed but Anne grabbed his arm, stopping him.
"You gotta change into your jammies first, Harry." Anne reminded the boy and it also sent an awaking call to Louis who just stood there contemplating on whether he should go over Anne's word or not. He remembered that he has to change into his night clothes too and he left Harry's room to go to his room.
-
Once his teeth are brushed and he's changed into his night clothes, he went back to the second floor. He knocked on the door for Anne to open it since he has forgotten the key inside Harry's room. He made a mental note to not ever do it again since it can cause something that's unneeded.
While he waited for Anne to open the door, he heard someone call his name from the far end of the long hallway.
"Louis!" His head snapped to the side where the voice could be heard and he smirked when he saw Desmond walk over to him.
"Yes, Mr. Fakest?" Louis deepened his smirk. While Desmond made his way over to Louis, the door to Harry's room was opened by Anne but Louis didn't step inside wanting to know what the heartless man wants.
Anne who stood by the door followed Louis' gaze and took a sharp breath in when her eyes landed on Desmond.
"Don't call me that." The old man growled once near the blue eyed boy and it only had Louis giggling instead of being scared.
"What should I call you then?" Louis arched one of his brows and popped one hip out with a hand placed on it.
"Your dad said that they are gonna visit you next week." Desmond continued his talk completely ignoring Louis' attitude.
"What are we gonna do? I told you this is not a good idea!" Anne gasped.
"Shut up!" Desmond snapped at her making both Anne and Louis flinch.
At all the noise coming from the hall, a curious Harry poked his head out of the cracked open door.
"Mommy." He whimpered out when he noticed his dad there, making Anne look up from where she had her head hung low out of fear for his husband.
"Yes, love?" She wrapped her arm around Harry who stepped out of the room. The boy just slightly bended his knees and placed his head over his mother's shoulder. Desmond watched them and just rolled his eyes before turning back to Louis.
"I want you to visit them before they do." He ordered.
"What if I don't?" Louis smirked.
"You better do!" Desmond ordered much louder than before but Louis didn't even flinch expecting the reaction from the man.
"I asked, what if I don't. They'd see how you lied to every single one of us. Yeah? They'd see how you are not the one you shows off to the world. They'd see that you are a caged bird of your own beliefs that you treat your family like shit." Louis' voice was getting louder and louder with the every single word coming out of his mouth and Harry has his palms covering his ears.
"Shut up, you little slut! Who are you to talk to me when you are the one who walks down the runway half naked to get money? Huh?" Desmond fired back making Louis' eyes narrow to slits. He stepped forward and gripped the man's shirt collar.
"Don't ever try to shame me with my job or I'll end you with a snap of my fingers." He threatened in a whisper. He may look small and dainty but he's not always just that.
His threat sent Desmond to a fit of chuckles making Louis arch one of his eyebrows with a smirk.
"A fake threaten can do nothing, Louis." Desmond chuckled more and Louis pushed the man back by the grip he had on his collar.
"You don't know me, Mr. Styles." Louis said nonchalantly before walking into the room while leaving a shocked Anne and a curious Desmond behind.
He sat on Harry's bed before letting out a sigh. He looked up when he heard the door to Harry's room shut. Harry was humming a bit loudly and Louis studied the boy carefully to see if he's gonna have a meltdown. He looked at Anne for any sign and she shook her head.
Louis let out a sigh of relief before plastering a smile to his face and making grabby hands towards Harry.
"Come, cuddle with me, Harry."
Harry just kept on humming as he walked over to the bed and sat next to Louis on it.
"Hey!" Louis waved at the boy and opened his arms hoping Harry would come in for a hug but the boy just flapped his hands. Louis chuckled a little and stood up from the bed. He lifted the cover and patted on Harry's shoulder, careful not to trigger anything.
"C'mon, lay down." He ran his fingers through Harry's hair. Harry took the collar of his shirt and popped it into his mouth before standing up from the bed. He laid down on the bed and Louis covered the boy with the covers. He crouched down on the bed next to the boy and kept on running his fingers through Harry's hair.
"I'll make everything okay."
It may be a bit fast, just a day to be exact but Louis knew what his priorities are.

Oh and another question, do you have any suggestions for this book to be changed for better? Any idea?
I have a feeling that people don't like this book like they did with my other books. ):
