I stood besides Noah, staring at my reflection. It didn't seem right. My brow furrowed as I tried to think of what it was. It just didn't look like it was supposed to. I could see Noah concentrating as well. My brown hair fluttered freely in the wind, tangling into a billion knots, which I could see in the water. And that was when I realized. The wind was blowing my hair to the left. My reflection showed it going to the right. What was happening? 

As I reached towards the water, a face that was buried in the watery shadows made its way up to where I was standing on the shore. A face that I knew all too well. A face I had hoped to never see again. And yet here they were. They smiled their all too perfect symmetrical smile that had always creeped me out. Noah and I shrank back as they got out of the water, staring at us. They stood up straight, barely taller than Noah, but a thousand times more intimidating. Their smile pierced me to my very center.

"Hello Alexia," they said in their monotone voice. "It's a pleasure to see you again." And then they pulled out a knife and leapt for my throat.

Hi!!!!!!! I'm so excited to be writing this story!!! Fyi, I have never written science fiction or dystopian, so we'll see where this takes us. If you've ever read the book scythe, this is kind of like it except in this world the AI isn't as friendly and the world is creepier. You'll learn more in the next chapter. I will try to update weekly when possible but I'm not a super quick writer sooooo... Anyways, have a wonderful day!
