Foreword
Hello, and thank you for stopping by!
This is a book meant to help you with crafting your stories, analyzing them, and editing them, so you can be confident you've created the best story you can write at this moment.
I hope you find it helpful!
Please note that these elements and techniques, though intensely deconstructed, analyzed, and reconstructed/tested, are not the only way to write a great story. They are, however, methods which if used correctly can tell you if your story is well crafted.
I am not Lady Catherine telling you there is only one correct way to pack your clothes. Only that these methods have worked for others, and why they work.
Please do not hesitate to comment, ask questions, give your own anecdotes, suggest tips for addition into the book etc.
Thanks for reading!
HM Braverman
FYI, I'm not going to cover a ton of correct English writing tips in here, but I highly recommend Dark_Writes's book Fix That Bitch which does cover all those elements, and is also really hilarious.
I also have a reading list of Recommended Books On Craft I've found here on Wattpad.
A few notes on timeline and updates:
I'm currently working through the second half of A Hero With A Thousand Faces, as well as a new book called Writing The Blockbuster Novel. If I find that new book helpful I will be sure to share it (currently on the fence about it).
I'm also currently editing my novella! Hooray! I will be taking pictures and will share my process with you all in a new - currently draft - chapter on editing) Hopefully it will all go successfully and will give you a concrete example for how to apply different editing techniques to your book.
Please remember:
While you are learning all of this, I am as well. If you see something that looks like a mistake, or have heard different advice, please tell me! I want to make this the most helpful book I can.
