6. Betrayers befriend other betrayers

All I wanted to know was how she found my surgery paperwork.
They had been strategically hidden inside the library in my room. This is I was glaring at her in my living room on the first floor, and I wasn't having her foolish answer that 'they just had been there'. No, they hadn't. she took them, because somehow, she knew they were there.
She really thought I was a fool. There were 0% chance they had been there. That's how confident in myself I was.
I was sitting down at the dining table, interrogating her in front of me. It's when I came home three days after she came into my life that I found her in my room when I went in it. I yelled so loud she jumped back, and said she didn't do anything wrong. Why would she say that phrase first if she wasn't guilty of anything?
What made me doubt her even more was my camera system had been disabled. It never happened before. Why on her day? All the signs were pointing at her.
"how did you get in, again?" I asked. I wanted to see if it was the same story she said before.
"I found the door open." Her answer was stupid. My door was never opened. The system made the sliding doors always close after literally anyone leaves.
I crossed my arms. "So, you still want to keep lying? Ok." I sat comfortable in my Azur blue chair, and sat on it. "wait, how did you find my papers again? "
"they were hanging out, like about to fall out." she said. I noticed her fingers fidgeting on the table. "So, you didn't do anything, right? Everything was just like that?"
"exactly!" She thought I believed her because I was smiling. It wasn't a genuine smile, though. It was a mocking smile. "why did you read it, when it said to not touch it? why were you in my room. Apparently, you came to see me."
She opened her mouth, but nothing came out. "why, when you came, the door was opened when it had never been? It seems too much of a coincidence, don't you think?"
She put her hand in her lap, probably to wipe the sweat off. Then she put them back. They were shaking less. But I could still see them shaking.
"did someone eat your tongue, again?" she was strangely silent suddenly. I should have known why. Especially, when her gaze drifted off to something beside me a couple of times. I just thought she was doing it on purpose so she could execute some plan she came up with while I wasn't looking at her.
That's the problem with suspecting anyone. sometimes, you just don't know what to do.
"I- this is ridiculous. I didn't do anything wrong." she lifted her eyes to the ceiling. She looked strangely calm all of a sudden. Is should have known she would leave soon whether I liked it or not.
"this is exposing your ridiculousness. So, you're right for once. "She wasn't right for just once, but I would never tell her that.
I brought my laptop from my room to scare her into thinking a had a lot of time, as I could work and wait for hr answer. I lowered it to see. "tell me the real story, and I'll let you leave."
"I did!"
I shook my head and opened my computer again. "guess we'll be here for a while."
Even while responding to emails, I was still very well aware of what she was doing. Then I got the idea to try to make her say the truth another way. But I noticed that she started moving a lot on her chair, while she was facing me. I turned to the windows that were in the colorful kitchen behind me and saw Ken's face over the sink. "you called him?"
She didn't answer me.
He went to the sliding doors, and they opened for him, even though I programmed then to deny access to everyone. I guess they wouldn't deny it to the one that programmed them. That was important to notice. I wondered if he knew they were denying access. Maybe he wouldn't have let me now that. For fear I might use it against him one day.
Yes. It's from who I got my paranoia. "nothing resists to me." When I realized Nora was in the same room, the sentence sounded weird.
"you're holding her hostage?" he asked. I'm pretty sure he thought it was the dumbest idea of the century. But his face was not saying anything. "your thing- "
"don't say that."
"I say what I want--anyway, she took secret paperwork of the High Science Council, and read them. She said she found them there, while they were hidden."
He looked at me, like I said the sun is yellow. Emotionless.
I blinked. "get the heck out of here. You two."
I was surprised they listened to me. I think it's only because they had plans I almost ruined. That's what they whispered to each other, as they linked arms and walked away.
I was sabotaging their marriage. I cupped my face.
It's the word 'sabotage' that made me realize that in the off chance that she really found them there, then someone was setting other up, and ruining my experiment at the same time. I let go of my face. I had to give the file with every single paper about it to someone trustworthy to keep until I needed them, like the High science Council.
Little did I know then, that nowhere was trustworthy, because of the enemy I knew nothing about at the time.
I also needed to train more and learn ticks to make people say the truth more.
But before I could do any of those two, I was exposed as my true angry and broken self to the thousands of people on social media. And it was all Amber's fault.
