Travelling To West
Now getting into Havoc wasn't difficult, in fact it was very easy. Of course, we had to leave our weapons back at the sewer base that we'd hopefully never have to return to after this mission was successful (at least we prayed it would be). People could freely leave the city, it made president sky look like a better leader then she was,in only know this because it worked on me. A blind had been pulled before me my entire life and Raine and the others had lifted it. Anyways, there was a border wall though, it separated us from the Outlands, the area of the land that is unlivable.
Raine and the others (besides Alex) had to put on blue eye contacts and blonde wigs and they looked just like a normal gen. I had gotten used to calling those like me gens, I shouldn't say one of me since I didn't count myself as a gen. They were my people in appearance but not in spirit or heart.
"I've never seen so many people looking happy!" Jade whispered to me as we walked on the familiar sidewalk .
"For the most part, everyone's happy or at least tries to look that way," I shrugged.
Jade and Finn peered through every window and thatcher or Raine would usher them forward. It occurred to me that they had never seen society, or at least society like this, what I was so accustomed to. I looked around at the towering buildings and heard the laughing and happy voices and smelled the fresh food cooking from restaurants.
"I never thought I'd be here," Raine said as she looked around.
"I guess it's nice, I never knew anything else besides this. Neither did Torren," Tristan replied.
"So where are we going?" Alex asked, since he knew this city like us, I figured he wanted to get an idea of where we were heading.
"24 Pine Street," I responded, "not to much farther."
Alex nodded and put his hands uncomfortably in his pockets. He looked suspiciously at every passing person and I noticed his eyes were alert. Thatcher was the same way, as was Raine and echo. Finn and Jade were more relaxed which helped us not stick out like a sore thumb.
"I've never seen such tall buildings!" Finn said with a smile and looked up at the towering metal structures.
"Shh! Gens are used to this! Remember?" Jade elbowed her brother and he frowned and rolled his eyes.
We turned onto Pine street and I recognized West's door almost instantly . I walked up the marble steps to West's house, similar in size to mine. I rang the door bell and the door cracked open.
"Master Allen...." the Butler said in a confused voice, "friends of yours I assume."
I heard steps and suddenly West had poked his head out the door. His face when he saw me and Tristan went from bored to shocked.
" Torren! Tristan! What are you guys doing here?" West set through gritted teeth.
"We need your help," I replied quietly and gestured to the others.
West sighed and rubbed his hand to his fore head.
"Should I ask with what you need my help?" He said cautiously and raised and eyebrow.
"Yes just not here," Raine steppe up.
"Well hello there," west smiled.
"West we don't have time for this!" I stressed and pushed Raine behind me and west laughed and let us in.
The door opened up to a grand room with a huge staircase which he lead us up. We turned a corner and all filed into his room.
West sat on the corner of his bed and folded his hands.
"As I understand you and Tristan ran away a little over a month ago, so this can't be good," West sighed.
"What did our parents say when we left?" Tristan piped up.
West shrugged, "From what I heard they were furious. Probably since their heir to the company was gone."
I exchanged a look with Tristan and faced West, "Our parents were planning to kill Tristan so I'd take over the company."
West's eyes widened and he gasped, "That makes WAY more sense now! Ok, anyways we're getting off topic, whatcha need?"
"Torren said you can make metal detector proof weapons," Raine stepped up and folded her arms and stared him down.
West leaned back and shot her a smile, "why yes, yes I do."
"And it actually works?" Raine raised and eyebrow skeptically.
West laughed, "I haven't been caught in the three years I've been in business. You can get it anywhere. What's the occasions?"
"That's for us to know and you to ignore," Thatcher spoke up, "we can't get word of our plan getting out. So will you do it or not?"
"I'll do it, for old friends and for the sake of me being a nice person. But I assure you, I am trustworthy," West persisted.
"If we tell you, and anyone else figures out, we know it will have been you. And I will personally come and slit your throat," Raine threatened.
"I like this one," west laughed and smiled, "anyways, tell away. I'm listening."
West winked at Raine who rolled her eyes. I noticed Thatcher step closer to her and she stepped back. I hadn't noticed them getting closer and I felt a weird feeling deep in my gut as I saw their hands brush ever so slightly.
"We need to get into the capital building," Jade spoke up for the first time while we were here.
"What for?" West asked.
"We need to, how do I say this, change a few rules around here," Jade responded and west nodded.
"Understood. I'll take you guys to my lab where you can stay," west stood up and walked over to his closet.
He pushed hangers out of the way and gestured to us to look. I peered closer and saw a metal door.
