Chapter 7: He gives me the heebie jeebies.

We were all frozen. No one dared to move from their place. Well, I did, because I got up and walked up to Carl who was taking someone else's order.

"Hey, did you put a note with our change?" I asked him.

"What note? I didn't put anything. I was cleaning the table at the end and left the change unattended. You received a note? It must have been Louis. He is this new rebellious kid we got. He engages in all sorts of mischiefs." He furiously rambled and went inside the kitchen.

I sighed and went back to our booth. Everyone was sitting in the exact same position as I left them.

"What did he say?" Brianna asked.

"Some kid did this." I casually replied.

"So you're saying it's some cruel joke?" Lenny rose an eyebrow.

"Well, he is a rebellious kid. So, it could be." I shrugged.

Just as I finished my sentence, a teen kid stood in front of our booth. His eyes red with anger and had a tired look.

"I didn't put whatever you got. I was in the kitchen." He confessed with gritted teeth. "I may be a pain in the ass but I didn't put any notes. I'm so fed up of this. Everytime something happens, I am the one who gets blamed. I am so fed up of this life."

Jordan got up and patted Louis's back. "Hey, it's fine. We believe you." Jordan said and he just walked away.

"So, if he didn't put this and who did?" Brianna asked.

"The killer." I spoke and everyone looked at me with wide eyes. "I studied criminal Psychology. A lot of times when someone kills someone they feel guilty about it. They want to be punished for the crime but at the same time they don't have the guts to confess. Or, if the killer is a psychopath, he just does it for the fun of it." I explained and everyone still looked at me with the same watermelon sized eyes.

"Do we take this to the police, then?" Lenny asked me.

"I don't think so. The cops here won't do anything. They'll just pretend to try and give up." I said.

"We are not making the mistake of telling no one as the girls did in Pretty Little Liars." Brianna scoffed.

"When did I say we won't tell anyone?" I asked looking at her. "All I'm saying is that we can get the CBI involved in this."

"CBI? Don't you think that's a bit too much?" Jordan said.

"Too much? I don't know what kind of a friend you were, but if I have to include the president for finding the killer, I will." I said. "Plus, she is a friend. I befriended her while learning criminal psychology."

"You got some cool connections." Brianna impressively said and I flipped my hair with pride.

"I'll talk to her once I get home." I stated.

All of us got up and left the cafe. Jordan shared his number with us because he wanted to be kept updated. Lenny took the note with him as evidence to later show it to Kelly.

Kelly Lynch was the best person I met in the city. She was thirty years old but didn't look a day over twenty. Her ocean blue eyes and smile spread happiness everywhere. But as much as a bubbly person she was, she could be the most vicious person you could ever meet. She had an intimidating personality and that had made a lot of criminals confess. She used to close most of the cases she got. So, I knew I could trust her on this.

Brianna and I got inside the car which was perfectly air conditioned.

"What do you think of Jordan?" I asked as she was scrolling through her Instagram, chatting up with her famous friends.

"He is hot." She started.

"Not that way, Brianna." I facepalmed myself. "I mean him being Rosalind's friend."

"We didn't talk with her for two years, Valerie. I don't think it's a big deal if she made new friends." She shrugged.

"He gives me the heebie jeebies." I said.

"Why?" She asked, now interested in the conversation.

"Even Lenny didn't know him. We stopped talking to her, but Lenny was still her boyfriend. Plus, he looks older than us and doesn't live in town. He was standing miles away at the funeral because no one knows who he is. Or he didn't want anyone to find his presence. Either way, it still makes him creepy." I elaborated.

"Now that you put it that way, he does seem suspicious." Brianna nodded slowly, realising his mysteriousness.

I got off the car and thanked Brianna for the ride. I knocked on the door and my mom opened it and hugged me. This is something they were doing a lot. Every time my parents would see me, they would hug me. It's weird but I'm not complaining.

I went to my room and shut the door. Removing my phone from the pocket, I dialled Kelly's number.

She picked up on the fourth ring and greeted me. I told her everything about Rosalind's death, the kind of person she was and the note we received today.

She said that she had a case to solve and she was on the brink of catching the murderer, but after that she would bring her partner and the two of them would stay till they help us find who wrote the note. I thanked her and sunk in my bed.

I felt so exhausted and it was only late in the afternoon. I decided to take a small nap and caught up on my previous night's incomplete sleep.

I sighed with relief as I knew that we would finally find who killed Rosalind.

Hello Angels!

Another chapter in less than a day!

I love Brianna and Valerie's conversation. They are always kinda funny.

Anywhoo...what did you think of this chapter?
