Chapter 10: Honey, your eyes SCREAM tired.

I came home and spent some time with my mom. I told her about the conversation with Mrs. McAllister and she comforted me and told it was okay to let my feelings out. She had been very supportive of me and always kept checking on me.

After crying till my face felt numb, I finally stopped and washed my face with cold water. The doorbell rang, revealing Jordan who had a soft smile on his face. I let him in and was leading him to the guest room but he caught my arm, making me halt.

"What?" I asked him in confusion.

"I know that you and your friend have a suspicion that I hurt Rosalind, but I swear to god that I had absolutely no intention of hurting her." He admitted.

Well, that was pretty direct.

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked, still feeling confused.

"Because I just don't want to be known as Rosalind's murderer." He muttered, a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"Okay. I understand." I nodded and walked to the room.

Just after some time Brianna and Lenny came together and we were in the guest room staring at the blank white board and another one with Rosalind's picture. There was also a notepad with a pen and a normal lined book.

Kelly was writing something on the board with the marker while Blake was observing Jordan, Lenny and Brianna. One thing I noticed about him was that he was generally quiet and his eyes always had the emotions of curiosity. They roamed everywhere, sinking in the surroundings. His aura was also cool and calm, but at the same time, he had the capability of being brutal.

"Why do you look tired, Brianna?" Lenny spoke. That's when I noticed that Brianna looked sleep deprived and exhaustion was written all over her face.

"I'm not." She denied.

"Honey, your eyes SCREAM tired." I added.

She rolled her eyes and sighed, before plopping on the bed. "Fine. I am tired. Everytime I close my eyes, I see Rosalind's ghost."

Jordan snickered at this earning a glare from me and Lenny and then coughed after clearing his throat.

"What?" I asked her with disbelief.

"Well yeah. I think she is haunting me."

"Brianna, no." Lenny just shook his head.

"You wanna contact her with a Ouija board?" I offered.

"Isn't it supposed to be dangerous?" Jordan asked.

"We will never know till we try it." I shrugged.

"Nobody is using a Ouija board. Ghosts don't exist. Brianna is in denial, so her mind is making a fragment of Rosalind in the process of comforting her." Blake spoke and that was honestly the first time I heard his voice. It was raspy and kinda sexy.

"There goes the excitement." Brianna whispered and then smiled at him.

"Okay!" Kelly clapped her hands after she was done setting up everything. "Let's focus on the real reason we are here. Shall we?"

All of us took places on the bed except for Blake who was standing next to Kelly with his hands folded.

"Good. Now, we will start with a list of people who might be suspects. Like anybody who secretly hated Rosalind or was envious of her." Kelly said.

"I don't think anybody could have hated her. She was amazing." Lenny said.

"There must be someone envious of her at least. Look, it is someone who was a part of her life. No stranger would kill her like that unless they were a psychopath. Which is less likely in this situation." Kelly replied.

"No names come to my mind." I said. "She was very humble and good to everybody.

"There was Jessica Monroe." Brianna said. "She could have hated her because Rosalind stopped her from bullying us."

"Jessica and Rosalind became friends after that. They used to hang out often." Lenny stated.

"Is it weird that none of us have any names?" Jordan asked.

"No. But, it does make the investigation complicated." Blake answered.

"Nevermind. The notes. Let's get into that. Whoever it is has to be the killer or an eye witness or maybe a partner who is now feeling guilty because other than that will not have any idea to lead you to the killer." Kelly said and we all nodded in agreement.

"After you receive a note, you will either show it to me or send me a picture of it. Also, share everything you find with us so we can add it to the evidence list. Do not be sloppy and do your best to not get caught. But, if you do, don't panic and call me. DO NOT and take this as a warning but DO NOT tell the cops anything about this as there are chances that a cop may be corrupt and trying to cover up this murder." Kelly warned.

"Do you think a cop could have done this?" I asked.

"We don't know." Kelly replied. "Since this is the beginning of the investigation, we will consider every theory and everyone as a possibility."

"Makes sense." Brianna said. "What do I do about the ghost problem?"

"Nothing. You move on and accept the fact that you're friend is dead. It'll automatically go away." Blake answered and then Kelly elbowed his stomach.

"Don't be so blunt about it, Blake." Kelly hissed.

"Yeah, Blake. You don't know how it feels when one of your close friends is dead...wait, more like murdered and a part of you holds yourself accountable because you weren't there for her!" Brianna said as her voice broke and her vision was clouded by tears.

She left the room and I followed her silently.

"You okay?" I asked her.

"Why weren't we there for her?" She whispered and then sobbed.

"We were kinda selfish and our ego stopped us from talking with her too after that fight." I whispered the truth back.

I spread my arms to hug her and she placed her chin on my shoulders letting the tears free.

"I'm sorry." A voice spoke. "I shouldn't have been so harsh in there."

Blake was standing in front of us, his eyes darted on the floor. Brianna looked at him and forgave. I kept on drawing circles on her back to comfort her. Blake didn't leave after apologizing, but instead went in the kitchen and brought her a glass of water. Brianna thanked him and chugged down the water in a second.

This was too depressing. Brianna wasn't the only one blaming herself, I was too. Even when Rosalind came to visit me, I did not apologize but only bragged about how good my life was in the city. She was longing to tell me something but I didn't even give her a chance to talk about her life and her problems and just stormed off because we had a slight disagreement when she opened an old wound.

Now that I look back at it, I should have let her talk. I should have sat there and solved our differences. I should have supported her with whatever she was facing and helped her out of it.

Maybe, just maybe I could have saved her.

Hello Angels!

I'm back with a new chapter!

I love the Ouija board to be honest. I've never played one and don't even intend to.

So, I thought of updating using a laptop instead of my phone because it's more convenient for me and then I would have watched a little bit of buzzfeed unsolved after I was done. But, guess what? My laptop is on the verge of passing away. It has been many years since I am using it and is super slow. I had to wait TWENTY MINUTES for logging into this account. And youtube buffered like ten times in just five minutes.

Anywhoooo, I have so many cool and fun facts for my books. So, I thought for sharing some on my instagram. So, follow me there.

My exams get over next Monday and then I'll be FREE.

Don't forget to vote, comment and share :)
