Chapter 9: Karma

Ella slowly pulled the covers of his bed on top of Taehyung. She didn't forget to switch off the lights before she looked back to check up on him.

Taehyung slept like a baby. His face had splotches of dried tears on them, his nose was red and his hair messy.

When the man had suddenly called her for help, she became scared out of her mind. His voice sounded so different. It seemed like if she was even a minute late, he would have done something irreparable.

Her mind drifted towards the sight of his helpless figure. He had seemed like he could die then.

Ella knew why he had broken down like that. 

It had to have something to do with the woman who had left him. There seemed to be no other reason for his desperation. Ella was only relieved that she had gotten to him on time.

She was working over time at the school and had dropped everything in her hands for him.

With one last look at him, Ella made her way out of his apartment. She walked the rest of the way back home.

All that had taken place seemed to drain out her energy as well. What she needed was a good night's sleep.

While she walked, Ella began to think about how lucky she was. In a way, she was thankful that she was not in Taehyung's position. 

She was relieved that she had everything that she needed. Her love was waiting for her at home. She could go up to his arms and sink in his comfort. 

She reminded herself to never take Jimin for granted ever again. Her life hadn't changed and she wanted it to be that way.

Ella finally reached the main door of her apartment. Every step that she took from then was like a ticking bomb.

Her fingers punched in the code and she walked in.

The girl was tired but the weird atmosphere of her house didn't go unnoticed. 

Something felt strange.

"Jimin?" she called out as she looked around for him.

Where was he?

Ella began to worry as she searched the rooms of her house. But her heart immediately steadied as she heard the faint snores that came from the guest bedroom.

With a smile, she walked into the room to greet her Jimin.

Little did she know, at that moment, her life would be taking a big turn on its end. 

Nothing could ever prepare her for what she was about to witness.

Her face masked horror as she saw Jimin in bed with another person. 

Clothes were scattered and the blankets were thrown off the bed. 

But even that wasn't what had her in disbelief.

Jimin had another person with him in bed.

Another man.
