Chapter 3!

You'd regained your composure and a few hours later you were working hard. You'd explained yourself to the two men and apologized repeatedly. The taller man had laughed and said that it was fine, that he'd found it really quite funny. The shorter man had just stared at you. They'd stayed the entire time, having some more tea and dango. They'd ordered a large amount of the dango. As you dropped off another plate, the shorter man spoke as you went to turn away, "These dango..." You turned back and looked at him, he examined the dango quietly, "They're good." You smiled, "Thanks. They're the only thing here that I make, so I'm glad you like them." You walked back to the kitchen and saw Granny staring at you through the window. She shook her head, "I can't believe he's not your type. He's a nice boy. I can tell. He might not seem like it right now, but I just know he's a nice boy. Much nicer than the other one..." You sighed, "Oba-san, please...don't ever bring that up again. Like...ever. I'll find my life on my own, so please stop trying to set me up." She smirked at you, "The day I stop trying is the day I die." You shot her a look but couldn't help but smile.

About half an hour later it was time to close. The two men were still there. You walked over, "Alright you two. It's closing time, so I gotta chase you out, but first I need you two to pay up." You smiled. Both men dug around in their cloaks and handed you money. The blue man smiled as he handed it to you. It was way more than they owed, so you began digging in your apron for change, but the blue man held up his hand, "Keep the change." Your eyes sparkled, it was probably the best tip you'd ever gotten, "Wow really?! Thank you so much!" You bowed deeply. The two men stood up, putting their hats back on. You walked over to the register and put the money in.

Granny came out of the kitchen with a paper bag, "Oh, are those two gone already?" You nodded, then looked at the bag, "What's that?" She lifted it a bit, "We had a lot of dango left over, so I was going to give them some to go..." You took the bag from her, "They just left, so I should be able to catch them." You quickly turned and rushed out the front. You spotted them a short way up in the darkness of the night. You ran as quick as you could, forgetting to make your steps make noise to hide your shinobi past. You were almost upon them when you called out, "Hey wait!" They both whipped around, a look of shock apparent on the taller man's face. You pulled to a stop and held out the bag. "Granny said we had too much left over, so if you guys want you can have some to take with you." The shorter man silently took the bag from you, but the taller man tilted his head, "How the heck did you sneak up on us?"

You tensed a moment, realizing you'd screwed up. You jutted your lip out, trying to look innocent, "I wasn't trying to, but I've been told I tend to move quietly." They both stared at you, clearly not satisfied with your answer.

You shifted under their gazes, "Well...I better get back and clean up...nice meeting you two."

With that you jogged back to the shop, feeling their gazes on your back the entire way.
