Hello I'm Jess. Introduce yourself please.

Hi, I'm Asfiya Sayyad, and I'm from India. I am an understanding girl, who's always optimistic. I'm confident in my talks and works. I'm very kind to people and very helpful too.

😊😊Tell us about your book 'Lost Girl'

Lost Girl is a novel about a girl named Lia who comes to Manchester because her parents have to travel around for their business. She joins the same school where her younger cousin sister had died a year ago. She feels her new school is just fine. She has the company of her new friends, enemies, and her crush, for whom she just can't stop falling in love with. Things are all fine and dandy until the day she finds her dead sister's diary. Lia is determined to find out what happened to her sister; if it was a natural death or murder.

Why did you choose 'Lost Girl' as your title?

The title is about Clara, who is Lia's dead sister. I had actually chosen just Lost when I started writing the book, but then I decided to keep it Lost Girl because Clara is lost.

Da** that's deep!! Are any of your characters inspired by a real-life person? If yes, then who and why?

Yes, a few characters are inspired by a real-life person. The character Sandy has been inspired by my best friend/sister Sannika. It's because of the way Sandy is always there for Lia. Sannika has also been for me the same way.

Second, the character Kylie has been inspired by my best friend Kanishka. It's because Kanishka has always supported me in all my decisions and given me honest opinions.

Third, the character Clara has been inspired by my younger cousin sister, who's very close to me and also resembles me as if she's my real sister.

And lastly, Lia has been inspired by myself. We are both quite similar.

Wow, you take so much inspiration from the people around you. What/Who inspired you for the idea of this book?

Mostly my friends.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Creative, cheerful, and talkative.

What genres do you prefer to write about, and what genres do you prefer to avoid?

I prefer writing Teen fiction, Romance, Fan fiction, Mystery, Fantasy or Supernatural

I prefer to avoid writing Adventure, LGBTQ+, Humor. I'm not very good at writing them.

Do you try to be more original, or do you like to stick to clichés?

I do stick to clichés sometimes, but I try to be original whenever I can.

That's good!! Are you a reader too? If yes, what's your favorite book on Wattpad?

Yes, I am a reader. My favorite books on Wattpad are Marrying a Lie, Missing or Murdered, and A Deal with the Devil.

I have also read 'A Deal with the Devil'. What's the greatest difficulty you face while writing about characters that are different from you?

The greatest difficulty I face is writing about male characters. It's difficult writing about what they think, their thoughts.

Yes, I know this pain. What are the thoughts of your Family on you being writer?

They didn't believe me at first when I told them I was a writing a book, but then I showed them the book, and they believed me. They're really supportive about me writing a book. They tell their relatives and friends to go check out my book.

My Dad doesn't like reading English novels much, but my mom does, and she has read mine.

Aww that's so cute 😍😍 If you could have lunch with one celeb alive/dead, who would they be and why?

Harry Styles

He's a great singer and I find his voice lovely. Another reason because he's a good person and I agree with his thoughts.

Harry Styles💖💖 What three habits do you think will help you improve your writing skills?

Reading more books, practicing grammar, and using new words in everyday life.

If you had to compare yourself to a fictional character, who would they be and why?

Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.

It's because I can relate myself to her in so many ways. I'm always studying like her, I can't stand violence on animals, I'm always behind my friends to complete their work in time, and I'm always ready to make friends and try new things out.

Ay! Ay! Potterhead 😂😂 Do you have any more ideas or drafts to publish?

Yes, currently, I'm working on a new book called The Good Boy's Evil Angel which I'm publishing on my friend's birthday. And then I'm also writing another book called Fierce: The Lost Heir.

But I'm not planning on publishing it anytime soon. because I'm having a very busy schedule nowadays.

I'm very excited for you, good luck💟💟 What did you learn while writing your book? Has it affected your personal lifestyle?

I have learnt quite a lot while writing my book. I've learned about friendship, love, different places. It has affected my personal lifestyle a little. For example, I have started living my life more freely, enjoying it's every moment, and loving my friends and family more.

What do you see yourself doing if not being a writer? Right now, and in the future?

Right now, if I wasn't a writer, I would be reading books, painting, or studying.

In the future, I see myself as a Space Scientist at ISRO or NASA.

Really!? That is my future goal, too. Do you want to professional writer or do you just want to write as a hobby?

Yes, I read about it in your intro, that's why I chose you. I see myself as a writer more in profession.

Is there some advice you want to give your younger self? And what advice do you have for other aspiring writers?

My advice to my younger self is to be strong no matter what challenges your life gives you.

What advice do you have for other aspiring writers?

To aspiring writer out there, I'd like to say that don't give no matter what is happening, and don't give up on your books because your books are your own unique work, a beloved part of you and your mind.
