The backstory

3rd person POV

'It all started long ago, when my father Alexander Zane Black fell in love with my mother Athena Hera Black. They were inseparable, they both loved each other so one night my dad got on one knee and proposed to my mother and she said yes, they did what any couple would do, they slept together. Couple months after proposing and sleeping with each other, they had their wedding and after the wedding they slept together again. It was exactly three months later when my mother started getting sick and was throwing up her food, she didn't know why she was throwing up so she went to her mother who was with her witch coven. My mother asked them could they see why she was throwing up, so two witches plus her mother went somewhere quiet to perform the spell, they chanted the spell when a gasp was heard.'

"Your pregnant deary." One of the witches told her
"I'm pregnant?" Athena questioned
"Yes Thena your three months pregnant with a baby girl." Athena's mother told her

'But the third witch was silenced'

"Can I speak with Athena alone?" The third witch asked
"Of course." They both said

'The two witches walked out'

"Angel what's going on?" Athena asked her
"I have bad news my darling." Angel told her
"I mean it can't be that bad right?" Athena asked her

'But Angel stayed quiet'

"Right Angel?" Athena questioned
"Well darling your daughter will become something powerful and strong, she will be the most feared person on this earth besides you and her father." Angel told her
"Okayyy, what was the other news Angel?" Athena asled her
"And um how should I put this." Angel rambled

"Angel get to the point!" Athena told her
"Alexander is cheating on you with a she-wolf." Angel told her quietly
"What no that can't be possible, we just got married." Athena told her while crying and rubbing her stomach

"I'm sorry my child, i'll let you have time to yourself but i must warn you that Ruby and Cleo will tell the coven about your baby so i suggest you take the back way, i'll try to keep them from finding out." Angel told her
"Thank you Angel, for everything." Athena told her
"It's been my pleasure darling." Angel told her while walking away

'Athena went the back way and walked to
her and Alexander's house, she didn't pay attention to the noises in her house because she was so far in her own head, as she went inside her house and walked the stairs. She heard moaning coming from her bedroom, she opened the door and she saw exactly what Angel told her. There's her husband sleeping with another woman in their bed that they shared, Athena gasped when she saw that the woman her husband slept with was her best friend Imara Elizabeth Parker.'

Alexander POV

'I heard a gasp beside me and all I saw was the heart broken look in my wifes eyes'

"Hera it's not what it looks like I swear!" I told her
"You liar, you sleep with someone not just someone my best freaking friend?" She told him
"You were pushing me away, what was I supposed to do?" I questioned her

'She just stared at me with tears in her eyes'

"So i'm the problem, well guess what I won't be your problem anymore!" Athena told him while throwing her engagement and wedding ring
"Hera that's not what I meant." I tried to explain to her
"No it's fine, I know what you were implying." Athena told him coldly, while walking away from him

Outside

Athena POV

"That bitch had a lot of nerve calling me the problem, when it wasn't even my fault I was trying to see what was going on with me." Athena said to herself while walking across the street

'She didn't notice a car coming until it almost hit her, as the car came to stop the unknown person stepped out and spoke'

"I didn't hit you right?" The unknown person asked me
"No i'm fine." I told him
"Let me at least take you back to my house, my mother will give you water, clothes and food." The unknown person told me
"Okay fine, at least tell me your name stranger." I asked him
"My name is Derek Hale." He told me
"Well Derek my name is Athena Hera Adair." I told him while walking to his car
"Well it's nice to meet you." He told me while walking to the passenger door and opening it

'Athena got into the car, while Derek ran to the drivers side and drove off to the Hale house'

At the Hale house

3rd person POV

'Little Cora saw her brother pull up to the house and ran outside'

"Derek you're back and you brought a pretty lady, can she play with me and dolly?" Cora asked him
"No Cora she needs-." Derek begin to say but was cut off
"No it's fine Derek, come on little red let's play with dolly!" Athena told Cora while picking her up

'Derek stares at her and saw someone who was great with kids, he shook his head and went in the house and got some clothes for Athena. But as he walked out of his room he bumped into his mother Talia'

"Derek who is that woman in Cora's room?" Talia asked him
"Oh that's Athena." Derek told her like it's no big deal
"Athena who?" Talia asked him
"Adair?" Derek told her quietly
"You brought an Adair in my house." Talia asked him
"It wasnt-." Derek went to say but got cut off
"It's not his fault Ms.Hale, I was walking in the middle of the road and I wasn't paying attention and he almost hit me, but if you need me to leave I will. I just put Cora to sleep." Athena told Talia

"I'm sorry dear I didn't mean to come off as rude, what caused you to walk out in the middle of the road?" Talia asked her
"It's fine Ms.Hale, and my husband Alexander Black cheated on me with my best friend and I just found out that i'm three months pregnant with his baby." Athena told them while crying
"Oh dear don't cry, he doesn't deserve a kind heart like yours!" Talia told her with anger in her voice

'Derek hugged her and Athena hugged him back, while they were hugging they felt a little body hug them and they both looked down and saw Cora'

"Little red what are you doing awake?" Athena asked her while wiping her tears
"I heard you crying and I thought you needed a hug." Cora told her
"Aw thank you Cora, let's get you back to sleep." Athena told her

'Athena and Cora walked back into Cora's room'

"Mom, what are we going to do." Derek asked her
"I will let her stay here and let her raise her baby with us but there's one thing." Talia told him
"What is it Mom." Derek asked her impatiently
"You will have to be the baby's dad until she grows older to know who her real dad is." Talia told him
"Talia you know he barely knows how take care of himself for the full moon let alone a baby." Peter told her while coming out of the darkness

"That is why i'm letting her stay, she can be his anchor." Talia told Peter
"Are you sure, you want me to be a dad, mom i'm barely 15." Derek asked her unsurely (AN he was either 15 or 16 🤷🏾‍♀️)
"Yes Derek, i'm sure go check up on them and go to bed you have school tomorrow." Talia told him

'Derek walked away and check up on Cora and Athena, he saw that both of them fell asleep together. He closed the door quietly and walked to his room and went to sleep'

"Talia it's not a good idea!" Peter shouted hushly
"Peter you know mom doesn't make rash decisions." Laura told him
"It will work Peter, I have faith in them." Talia told him while walking away

'As months went on everyone saw that Athena was Derek's anchor and he was hers, Derek stayed by Athena's side when she gave birth to her daughter Cyrene Emersyn Hale. Athena finally told Derek why she made her last name Adair and not Black, she told him after she found Alexander cheating she told Angel to change her name back to Adair before anyone notices. She also told Derek she put a spell on him and her daughter so they'll be safe'

The day of the fire

Talia's POV (for a little bit)

'Talia walked up to Derek, Laura and Athena'

"Have a good day at school." I told them all
"Yes mama." The kids told her while walking to school

'Talia shuts the door'

"Okay little one, let's go play with Cora." I told baby Emersyn

'Talia and Cora played with Emersyn, while Peter stood in the door and watched until their senses alerted them'

"Peter someone is by the house stay with the girls, I will tell everyone else to be on the look out." I told him quietly

'Talia walked out of the room and went to alert everyone else she started smelling smoke, so hurriedly ran to her family but saw that they we're on fire so she ran up to the room where Peter and the girls were and saw that the fire was trying to get to the room. So she yelled for them to run to the living room, as they ran to the living room they saw the door was blocked off by the fire. Talia hoped and prayed that one of the kids can save them, as she said her prayer she saw the fire disappear from the door and there she saw Derek and Laura'

"Laura, Derek we're over here!" I coughed out
"Mama are you okay?" They both asked me
"Now's not the time grab Cora, Peter and Cyrene!" I told them
"Okay mama but keep fighting we will come back for you okay?" Derek told me
"Okay." I told him, knowing I wasn't going to survive

'I watched as they walked out, I heard Derek scream Athena's name'

"Laura what's going on?" I coughed out
"Mama we can't hear Athena's heart!" Laura cried out
"It's okay sweetie, We love you all." I told them while taking my last breath

3rd person POV

'Derek heard Laura scream and looked up and saw the rest of the house burning, he got up and tried to go get Talia but Laura held him back he tried his hardest to get out of her arms but she was too strong and they both sat their and watch their house burn down'

"NO! Let me go Laura, I can save mama." Derek told her pleadingly
"Derek it's too late her heart stopped." Laura told him with tears in her eyes

'They both noticed a burned Peter and a passed out Cora and Cyrene'

"We have to get them to a hospital." Derek told Laura hurriedly
"Derek what are we going to do about Athena?" Laura questioned him
"We will um. We will bury her here with the rest of the family." Derek told her

'So that's what they did, they buried Athena by the Hale house and picked up Cora, Cyrene and Peter and took them to the hospital'

I might be working more on this story than my other one but I'm not sure because I have a tvd book in my draft that I want to post 🤓
