Ch. 8: Watching Time to Step Up
"Hey, gods. Can we get a mop and a bucket?" Eda asked, holding King AND Luz back from tasting more of Amity.
"We can do you one better." Jss2141 said before clicking a remote.
Suddenly, Amity's puddle mass was floating in air as a glass mold of Amity appeared below her with a funnel on top.
"...I have so many questions right now but I can't ask them." Hunter said.
"With how many times Amity's going to melt, we might as well get Luz a blender." Mr. Hardcor3 said, "She's going to want some Amity smoothies."
"And no, nobody is going to be drinking Amity smoothies. I'm looking at you, Cannibal Club members and POTENTIAL members." Jss2141 said.
Boscha and Luz looked away. They both glanced back as Amity was poured into the glass mold of herself.
"Now we just wait a few seconds for her to retain her color." Mr. Hardcor3 said.
"I wonder if this is how mannequins are made." Jss2141 said.
"An Amity mannequin, now there's an idea for later." Mr. Hardcor3 said, "But she's looking pretty normal right about now... should we keep her in here? We both know this will happen again... at least like three more by my count."
"Mmmmm, naw! I'm sure Amity will learn to control it by then. If not, we'll keep her inside it." Jss2141 said as a few seconds passed. "Alright, open it up, she looks done."
The glass case opened, revealing Amity in her original shape as her color slowly came back to her.
"There, now that that's settled." Mr. Hardcor3 said, "Next time this happens, DON'T eat her... why do I even have to say that?"
"But she tastes like Cotton Candy." Luz said, whining.
"Cotton Candy?" Boscha asked, interested. "Is that like Rotten Candy?"
"Don't even think about it." Amity said to her former friend.
"Moving on, let's get back to this." Mr. Hardcor3 said.
After mopping up Amity, they went into the woods. Willow poured the bucket containing Amity onto the ground and made a spell circle, making a giant flower grow and open, revealing Amity.
"Well, that was an experience." Amity said, trying not to look embarrassed.
"You're telling me. I didn't think a witch could turn into abomination mush unless you trained for years. That's how the current abomination coven leader, Darius, told me." Hunter said, crossing his arms.
"Well, he's never met Amity!" Luz said.
Luz hugged her girlfriend as Amity blushed less than before, smiling at her praise.
"How do you think Amity's dad will react?" Amelia asked.
"Probably crying or jealous." Boscha said, shrugging.
"Well, there's no witch like Amity." Willow said, teasing her. "She's part of the Gay Coven."
"That's not a real coven." Luz said before tilting her head. "Though I wouldn't be surprised if it was."
"It is." Every witch and demon said.
"Really?" Luz said in surprise.
"It is." Willow, Gus, and Hunter said.
"... It is." Amity said, blushing as she looked away.
'Wow, there is a Coven for everyone.' Luz thought.
"Wow. Such a diverse and open community." Camila said, surprised.
"Not unless you count the "one coven for each witch" crap." Eda muttered.
"Anyway, let's move on. We still don't know how strong you are exactly, so try to lift that rock." Amity said, pointing to a stone near the cabin.
It was about the size of a basketball, just going from about half of it being on the ground level.
"Okay." Luz said before she walked over to it.
"She'll pick it up without struggle." Mason said with confidence.
With a small stretch of her hand, Luz grabbed the rock and lifted it up with only a bit of effort, like it weighed less than a small stone or basketball itself.
"Well that wasn't so hard." Luz said, tossing the rock ball up and down a bit in her hand. "It feels like a beach ball."
'I may have found my new apprentice.' Mason thought.
Mason can admit he was getting old and he couldn't remain a coven head forever. So maybe he could train a certain human to be his replacement, Mason could retire happy knowing the coven was in good hands.
"Dang, Luz." King said in awe.
"I wish I was that strong." Gus said, looking at his own arms.
"You just need to work hard for it... and drink the blood of a long dead god." Luz said.
"NO." The authors said again.
'Not yet, anyway.' They secretly thought.
"Ugh, you guys are no fun." Gus muttered, crossing his arms.
Luz spun it on her finger a bit as everyone looked shocked at her. She shocked them even more as she dropped the rock and kicked it, making it go crashing through a tree!
"Well, supernatural strength is clearly a side effect of Titan's Blood." Hunter said, still staring in shock.
"You think?" Amity asked.
"Seriously? What ELSE should we prepare for?" Willow added.
"I feel like I might faint from watching this." Camila said.
"I might as well but for other reasons." Lilith said, writing all of this down.
"Yeah, I guess. So what's next?" Vee asked as Luz walked over to the tree, picking it up too but with both hands. "Seriously, what is next because this is freaking me out."
"Freaking ALL of us out!" Vee shouts.
"She's lifting... an entire tree." Darius said, "Unbelievable."
"Trust us, that will be one of the lightest things she, and another person that drinks titan's blood, will lift." Mr. Hardcor3 said, "And that other person is in this room."
Before anyone could ask, the scene started again.
"Maybe we can see how fast she is?" Camila suggested.
"And how long her endurance lasts." Hunter said, adding to the suggestion.
"Sounds good to me, a little race will do, should help, but first we need to fix this tree." Luz said, pointing to the broken stump while she still held the tree. "Willow, I need you to fix it while I hold it in place, okay?"
"Reattaching a torn tree? I remember doing that in my younger days." Terra said, smiling non-sinisterly. "So glad to see the youth caring about nature."
"I don't know what's creepier, her acting kind or her being evil." Mr. Hardcor3 said.
"Me either. And with how strong her poker face is, it's difficult to tell if she's lying too." Jss2141 said.
"Can I... you know." Mr. Hardcor3 said, motioning his head to the bat in the corner.
"Save it for Odalia when we bring her here." Jss2141 said.
This made the other author giddy and nod, leaving the bat alone for now.
"Sure, not the weirdest thing we've done." Willow said, rolling her eyes. "And trust me, I keep a list."
"Is "growing an Amity" at the top of it?" Luz asked.
"Not even top ten." Willow said.
"Top ten?" Boscha asked, turning to Luz's group.
"Don't ask. Things get pretty weird and dangerous with our group." Willow comments.
Drawing a spell circle, Willow made the stump of the tree grow vines and bark to reconnect with the severed top half as Luz held it in place.
"There we go, all better." Luz said, moving away from the repaired tree. "Now, about the speed and endurance test."
"Well, I think I have an old treadmill, maybe we can use that to see how fast and how long she can run." Camila said, rubbing her chin.
"But that's all the way back at the house and it weighs a ton." Gus said, putting the mop and bucket in the cabin. "How are we going to get it here?"
"Maybe get the girl that just ripped a tree out of the ground?" Boscha asked.
"Yeah, if she can handle a tree, she can handle anything." Skara said.
"I could go get it." Luz suggested. "I mean, I did just break a tree in two by kicking a large stone at it, there's not much I can't lift."
"I guess but hurry back. We don't want anyone to see the new you yet exactly." Camila said to her daughter.
"Don't worry, I'll be back soon." Luz said before took off running towards the house, instantly twice or thrice as fast as she normally was with a bit of wind rushing after her.
"WHOA!" Everyone said in surprise.
"Dang, kid! It's like you're using a teleportation spell without the spell." Eda said.
"You're a literal speed demon now!" King said.
Luz was giddy... oh the poor girl, she still has three near death encounters to go.
'I don't know the full extent to what that Titan's Blood did to me, but I love it so far.' Luz thought as she made it back to the house in record time.
"I wish I had a stopwatch right now." Luz said.
One suddenly materialized above Luz and fell into her lap. Seeing this, Eda got an idea.
"I wish I had a million dollars right now." Eda said, looking up.
Nothing happens.
"We're writers, not miracle workers." Jss2141 said.
"Besides, you'll get more than a million soon." Mr. Hardcor3 said.
"More?!" Eda asked, excited.
"Oh dear, how and why?" Lilith asked in dread.
"Watch and wait." Jss2141 said.
"Do you think Eda will still like it when she finds out how she makes her millions?" Mr. Hardcor3 asked, "From Luz getting offerings... and her becoming a mother."
"Even without the money, she'll still be happy that she won't die alone." Jss2141 said with a shrug.
"Yeah but... you know some might not be happy." Mr. Hardcor3 said softly.
Jss2141 patted his back while nodding before continuing the episode.
She slid to a stop before entering the back door, looking around for where the old treadmill was.
'It's probably in the basement.' Luz thought, heading to the basement/ Gus's and Hunter's room.
With most of the space being organized for the guys to live in, it was easy for Luz to find the old treadmill and picked it up with little effort. It weighed much less than the tree.
Amity started blushing again... classic Luzbian.
'She's my girlfriend and she's still making me blush! Why?' Amity thought.
"Dang. Now I really want that Titan's blood." Boscha mumbled.
A certain coven head was thinking the same, assuming the blood could do wonders for her old body.
"Now to get back-" Luz stopped talking once an item came into her line of sight.
The cage that Flapjack slept in before...IT happened. Before HE happened. Her playfulness at her new abilities was overshadowed with a deep hatred, one for a being that deserved it and nothing less!
'Flapjack.' Hunter thought, glancing at his first friend again as he nuzzled his cheek. 'I won't let him kill you again. I swear.'
'Belos, just you wait. Next time I see you, I'm gonna crush you like a bug!' Luz thought before approaching the cage and putting a hand on it, giving a silent prayer for her lost friend. 'I'll get revenge for you, Flap, and for everyone he tricked.'
Once her prayer was done, Luz began to head out back to the cabin as everyone was still waiting for her. Unaware to her though, she stepped on a notebook with glyphs in them as she left and walked up the stairs. As the door closed behind her, a small light formed from the notebook and floated in the air. Just a few seconds before fading out, like it was never there in the first place.
Luz's eyes went wide, which didn't go unnoticed by Eda.
"What? What's wrong, kid?" Eda asked, shaking Luz a bit.
"Glyphs... don't work in the human realm." Luz said slowly.
"Huh? They don't?" Gus asked as everyone looked at Luz.
"No, they don't. When I tried to use them against Lilith, it just crumbled to dust." Luz said, glancing at her hands. "So if they worked in the future, that means...the Titan's Blood is the key to glyph magic!"
"If that's true... then you didn't just DRINK the Titan's Blood. You have Titan's Blood running through your veins!" Eda said.
"Correction, she WILL have Titan's Blood running through her veins." Jss2141 said.
"Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to your next Titan goddess. Luz Noceda!" Mr. Hardcor3 said as a spotlight shines down on Luz.
"T-T-Titan!?" Luz yelled in surprise, "I'm going to be a Titan!?"
"That is correct." Mr. Hardcor3 and Jss2141 said in unison.
"How?!" Luz's group screamed.
"T-The Titan's Blood." Lilith said with a stutter, drawing everyone's attention. "When Luz drank it, the magical elements inside it must've begun changing Luz's anatomy to fit the blood."
"While that's a good theory, there is truly no way of knowing why." Mr. Hardcor3 said, "All that we know, there will now be two Titans."
"Two?" Luz asked.
"Two?!" Everyone else shouted.
"You'll see what we mean, now let's get on with the reaction." Jss2141 said.
