Skylar's POV

"Goodbye, Wiztech." I grabbed my hand and went through the portal following Alex.

"You gonna be okay?" Alex hugs me, Alex has been my mentor from day one. She was there for me when my parents disappeared and left a note to Alex.

"Should I be worrying, your brother won't take me in."

"I know my brother, well enough that he won't turn away anyone." Alex ensures.

We arrive at the house, Alex explains to her brother Justin about the situation, and I fearfully stand there waiting to see the outcome. Alex asks me to go into the kitchen while the talk.

Looking around the kitchen, the door opens to Justin's wife walking in. "Oh, hello, can I help you? I'm Giada."

"Skylar, I'm here with Alex; Justin's sister."

Giada nods and offers me some water. "Well, welcome. How long are you here? Did you know it's Justin's birthday."

Alex and Justin walk into the kitchen. "Hey Giada, you remember Alex." Justin smiles weirdly.

Alex and Giada hug, "Good to see you. I did bring presents for everyone. Especially you, Justin. I won't forget your birthday." Alex jokes, then she turns to me, "Skylar, great news. Giada and Justin are letting you stay with them for a while."

Giada motions Justin into the other room, Alex assures me that Justin isn't going to let anything bad happen to me while he trains me. Alex then let Giada and Justin know she had to go. Important business awaited her and wished us luck.

"MOM!" A voice screams from upstairs, two boys rush into the kitchen, almost fighting. They both look at me, "You're not our mom." The youngest one says.

"I'm Skylar, your parents are in the otner room chatting."

"Thanks." The oldest one runs out of the room.

"That's Roman, I'm Milo."

"Skylar."

Justin and Giada walk back into the kitchen and warmly hug me. "Welcome to our home, Skylar. I'll go set up you in the spare room upstairs." Giada leaves the kitchen once again.

Justin motions me to follow him, and we walk into the living room where a mirror stands. "What's this?" I ask.

Justin walks through the mirror after me. Once inside, we are in a lair. "This is where I'll train you. My family did all our training here until Alex became the family wizard."

"Nice little place, are we safe here with secrets, does your family know?" I ask, looking around.

Justin scratches his head, "Uh, no. Giada, Roman, and Milo do not know about any of this or of my past as a wizard. They can't know."

"Got it."

"We should get started." Justin paces towards the wall, where a slot opened up.

"Right." I pulled out an envelope from Alex. "Alex wanted me to give this to you."

Justin takes the envelope and reads what's inside.

"Everything okay?" I asked.

Justin nods scratching his head, "can you give me some time. I'm sure Giada could use some help." He lies.

Justin's POV

Dear Justin,

I should of mentioned this while Skylar and I visited. Skylar is a powerful wizard. The fate of the world is in her hands, I need you to train her and prepare her for what is to come. While I'm at wiztech figuring out what she needs to be prepared for, please keep Skylar safe.
