Tarzan: Chapter 1
Put your faith in what you most believe in
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fate decide
To guide these lives we see
A great storm sweeps across the ocean, attacking the life of the larger island with rain and winds. Upon the shore arrives a small rowboat; wrecked and worn down but had done its job well. The inhabitants of the rowboat escape onto the shore as the storm begins to die down. A man. A woman. And a small infant wrapped in a blanket.
A paradise untouched by man
Within this world blessed with love
A simple life, they live in peace
Before them sits a vast jungle, with towering trees, birds chirping their songs, and the sounds of many animals awake in the night.
Softly tread the sand below your feet now
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fate decide
To guide these lives we see
The man, woman with their child trek away from the beach; the sand beneath their bare feet cool and soft. A large tree catches their eye, and an idea of a home enters the man's mind, causing him to grin as he ruffles their hair of his young boy.
Beneath the shelter of the trees
Only love can enter here
A simple life, they live in peace
Underneath the helter of the large African trees, a family of gorillas nest for the night. Two father's watch as their child climbs all over the dominant father; all smiling happily.
Raise your head up
Lift high the load
Take strength from those that need you
Build high the wall
Build strong the beams
A new life is waiting
The woman holds her baby on her back as she helps the man build their home; building up walls, a roof, beds, windows, everything they could ever need to survive their new home.
But danger's no stranger here
Deep, deep in the jungle, a predator lurks with eyes hungry yellow eyes. It watches its prey, waiting until the darkness takes over the land.
The baby gorilla, still awake despite the time of night, watches as a red frog flaps past his nest. He shrieks quietly in delight and escapes his father's arms, following after the red frog. Unbeknownst to all, the hungry yellow eyes watch through the bushes as the baby gorilla draws nearer and nearer.
And with a loud growl and shriek from the baby gorilla, that awakens the entire family of gorillas, the leopard known to the gorillas as Sabor strikes.
The fathers rush to try and save their baby in time, but their efforts are stopped as the sound of their child's shrieking is cut off. The smaller of the two begins to cry, the dominant one rubbing his forehead against his to comfort him.
No words describe a mother's tears
No words can heal a broken heart
A dream is gone, but where there's hope
The dominant father leads the group, his head held high. He stops to let the others go before him, looking back to his mate with a sad look. He travels in the back, his head lowered and his expression full of sadness at the loss of his child.
Suddenly, a cry reaches his ears; the cry of a young child. He follows the sound of the child, leading him to a weird looking nest. He carefully treads inside, the silence hitting her like a branch fallen off a tree. Inside he finds odd looking things thrown all over. He carefully steps over a weird looking stick with round, red and yellow leaves around it.
Movement enters his vision and he looks to the side, where behind a wooden plank, lies two unusual figures. Surrounding them, are fresh prints. Fresh, bloody leopard prints.
He cooes in alarm and hurries backward, until he is stopped by the sound of glass breaking. He moves his hand, staring at the odd picture before him. The man, the woman, and a small baby.
A cry breaks him out of his stare, and his gaze shifts before him towards a small cradle. Slowly, he walks over and peeks over the edge. A moving clothe is seen and he slowly reached out and removes it; to reveal a small baby.
The baby boy stops his cries and rubs his eyes, looking up at the gorilla as he picks him up by the foot. He giggles as he sniffs him, sneezing into his face.
Eventually, a bond forms between the two, and the baby boy snuggles into the gorilla's soft fur. The gorilla smiles before a sound fills his ears, and he looks up to see Sabor.
With a growl, Sabor chases the gorilla around; trying to get the infant in his arms. The gorilla leads them outside, where he traps Sabor in some ropes. He bares his teeth at the leopard, before running off with a small smile on his face.
Somewhere something is calling for you

“Vik!” The other gorillas exclaim as he arrives into the clearing. “Vik are you okay?”
“Yes I'm fine.” He answers softly. “I just… got a little side tracked.”
The gorillas gasp as Vik reveals the small baby in his arms. They search for a way to describe the unusual thing in his arms as a baby gorilla steps forward and watches the baby.
“It's kinda freaky. That's what it is.” He says as he tilts his head at the baby, who tilts his head back.
“Rob!” His exclaims. “Be nice!”
“What?” Rob whines, immediately stopping as he sees his mom's look. “Sorry Vik…”
“It’s quite alright Rob.” Vik smiles as the group parts allowing the leader of their family, Vik's mate, through towards him. “Preston… I found him a ways from here.”
“Vik.” Preston sighed, looking down at the infant sucking on his feet. “You know he can't replace the one we lost…”
“He isn't going to be a replacement… but he needs me Preston. And I need him.” Vik speaks.
“Was he alone?”
“What?”
“Where there others with him?”
“No…” Vik responds. “He was alone… Sabor killed the family he had.”
“Fine.” Preston gruffed. “You may keep him. But he will never, be my son.”
“But Preston-”
Preston cuts him off with a low growl, causing the baby to cry. Vik face him without flinching, a firm look on his face.
“At least give him a chance.” Vik reasons as Preston turns away.
Preston stays silent, before he sighs and looks back at Vik. “He can stay, but he will never be my son.” He looks up. “We'll nest here for tonight.”
Vik frowns as he watches Preston walk away, the others beginning to follow. Rob waddles up to them again, peeking at the baby in Vik's arms.
“So… whatcha gonna call it?” He asks, allowing the baby play with his fur.
“I'm gonna name him… Jerome.” Vik answers with a smile.
“Jerome?” Rob questions before shrugging. “Okay well he's your baby. Anyway I gotta go to bed now so bye Auntie Vik.”
Vik smiles as he watches Rob run after his mother before quickly looking down as Jerome starts to cry.
“Shh shh.” Vik begins. “It's okay... Come stop your crying, it will be alright.”
Vik smiles as Jerome grabs his large finger in his tiny hand and calms down. “Just take my hand, and hold it tight. I will protect you from all around you. I will be here, don't you cry.”
Vik smiles as Jerome gurgles. He walks off a small distance away from the nesting grounds, continuing the lullaby as she begins to build a nest in the trees.
“For one so small, you seem so strong. My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm. This bond between us, can't be broken. I will be here, don't you cry. Cause you'll be in my heart. Yes, you'll be in my heart. From this day on, now and forever more. You'll be in my heart. No matter what they say. You'll be here in my heart, always.”
Vik smiles as he lays down in the soft bed, watching as Jerome slips off to sleep.
“Always.” Vik whispers softly as they both fall asleep.
