This is an angsty Lumity oneshot where they go on a date, but there is still a tiny part of Grometheus lurking around in Bonesbourough, waiting to get revenge on the two girls...

Sadly, the person who requested this idea either got their account banned/deleted or they blocked me and I can't remember their username so unless they reveal they have a new account or something, I can't tag them here

*This takes a few months after the timeskip, so spoilers for Watching and Dreaming and everything before*

Luz's POV:

As you start to look around, you realise that each day, the Boiling Isles looks better and better. There are so many ideas and plans coming into reality, and it is so beautiful to see.

So, with that in mind, I decided why not organise a date with Amity? We've only ever been on dates in the human realm due to the rebuild of everything, but I feel things are starting to clear up more, and now is the perfect time!

So I ran through the portal into the Demon realm and then summoned out Stringbean. She turned into staff form, and I then flew on her, all the way up to Blight Manor.

Since Odalia left, things have been a lot better for Amity's family. She's finally reconnected with her dad. She likes the twins more, and it has even given her more confidence to rekindle her bond with Lilith.

When I arrived, I knocked on the door and eagerly waited. The moment reminded me of when I came back from the library, and when Amity gave me my first kiss on the cheek, signalling, I did have a chance with her.

Soon enough, she opened the door for me and immediately charged to give me a hug. I picked her up and then spun her around before putting her down again, making her blush.

"Hi Luz, what are you doing here?" She asked.

"Hi Amity, I really want to take you on a date here in the Boiling Isles today!" I replied.

"Are you sure?" She questioned, "Bonesbourough still hasn't been quite rebuilt yet, and I don't want us getting hurt from construction equipment falling..."

"I'm sure it will be fine!" I said, brushing aside her worries, and then asked the rhetorical question, "What's the worst that could happen?"

So with that, we interlocked hands and then ran down to the village. Everything was starting to look a lot better now, even then before!

Amity showed me around some of the new places, and we were having a really fun time. That was until something weird happened...

Along the way, we ended up bumping into Skara, one of Amity's old friends, so I let the two chat while I stood aside. I was staring off into the distance until I felt some slime fall off a tree and onto my hand.

I was about to wipe it off bit then had the sudden realisation it Grometheus the Fear Bringer, but it was too late by then and blue covered my eyes as it began to take me over. But rather than having my own fears brought up, it came up with Amity's fears!

The monster showed me moments from when she went to Eclipse Lake, but it also showed me that she hadn't understood my messages at first and Hunter was trying to convince her that if she she didn't bring back the Titan blood, that I would break up with her! I didn't think that's how it would come across, I thought she understood the emoji alphabet, but I guess not...

And it all ended with the voice of Amity's inner thoughts, "I can't mess this up, I can't risk Luz breaking up with me..."

Grometheus could tell it had caused enough pain to me and then hopped off my hand, jumping into a bush nearby. When Amity returned back, she gave me a look of concern.

"Are you okay, Luz? She asked.

"Oh, I'm fine, don't worry!" I lied with an awkward smile.

Amity's POV:

Luz seemed upset while I was gone bit wouldn't elaborate on it so we continued walking on. That was until Luz spotted Viney and Jerbo, her old friends, and went over to talk to them.

I stood under a tree and kind of just stared off into the distance. That was until I felt something get in my hair, something slimy.

I tried to get it out but then I felt I couldn't move anything and my vision went blurred, it was then I realised it was Grometheus the Fear Bringer.

Surprisingly, rather than getting my own fears and insecurities brought up, I found myself watching Luz's. The monster played some moments of Luz wishing she hadn't have gone to the demon realm, that she had just stayed in the human realm then try to fix the mess and that she was worried she would dissapoint me if I she told me that she accidentally helped Belos meet The Collector.

And as if that wasn't enough, the final thing I heard was one of Luz's inner thoughts, "I don't deserve Amity or any of the others, I'm just a stupid liar who hurts people..."

After all of that, Grometheus jumped out of my hair and into a bush nearby. I felt really upset that that's how she had been feeling, and I think she could tell when she got back.

"Hey Sweet Potato, are you okay?" She asked, running over to me.

"Well, is it okay if we could have a chat, please?" I suggested.

"Yeah, I have something I really need to say..." She mumbled...

Luz's POV:

Based on what she was saying, I could tell she had probably seen Grometheus too. So with that it mind, we walked over to a bench nearby and sat down, not holding hands.

"Did you see Grometheus?" She asked me.

"Yes, I did!" I replied, "Did you?"

"Yeah... he told me your inner thoughts..." Amity mumbled.

"He did the same thing with me..." I responded.

Neither of us had wanted our inner thoughts leaked out like that, but now that it has we can't just not address it otherwise our relationship could just break apart...

"I'm really sorry about what you saw!" I apologised first, tears starting to form in my eyes and my voice going raspy, "I just thought you and others would hate me and I just felt so guilty but couldn't tell anyone.

"We would never hate you, we understood it was complete accident and you had no idea Philip was Belos!" Amity responded.

This was starting to make me feel better, but I knew I had to wait and listen to her apology as well.

"I'm sorry I thought you were going to break up with me over that text, I should have talked about it with you earlier than waiting until my feelings got hurt..." She apologised.

"It's fine, I honestly thought you would get it but then again I was sick and playing around with my echo mouse too much to think of the consequences!" I responded, "That one is on me!"

"No, it's really on Hunter's fault. He told me that's what it was saying, and I just believed him back when he was just a dirty little liar..." Amity mumbled.

I sniggered and then responded, "So we're blaming Hunter now, are we?"

"Well, it's better than blaming ourselves!" She chuckled.

Today has been a tough day for the both of us, so we both had a hug and but after, I still felt I wanted to continue the date.

"I'm sure that monster is gone now, so... could we continue our date?" I suggested.

"Sure!" Amity replied.

So with that, we interlocked hands and then walked off into the distance...
