1-1:The Pre-Raid Meeting

Emperator sat at the head of the table, reflecting upon the state of the guild. It's not that it was bad, it's just, well the others were late. They were never late, if anything he was the late one usually. They had all agreed to meet back up in the game, facing their rival guild, a guild that was actually very cool, in one last raid upon the impossible fortress that the guild, the Phantom Emperors, had built as it's headquarters. Now that he thought about it, the game's shutdown day couldn't have been timed worse for his friends. They all had jobs that were more civilian than his, thus they all were likely heading home now. Silver Harbinger, Emperator's second in command and the strongest fighter in the guild, would be finishing up work on a custom ordered craft right about now. His wife, Esmerelda, both in-game and IRL, would be assisting him, along with taking care of the children, as Silver Harbinger had a tendency to, let them help a little too much with his work. Winup, along with Gold, his girlfriend, would be finishing up their shifts at the hospital they worked at, no children between them yet. Scotsman, the second strongest in the guild, would be closing up his bar, for a time anyway, in order to play with the group. Spark, the best scout in the guild, would be finishing recording his video. Smith, the master of the guild's forges, would be closing his pub and forge. The other 33 members, Torchwick, Norn Tide, Rook, Peitree, Shaz, Catalina, Peskalon, Billy, OSM (awesome), Gunner, Uther, Vader, Greth, Anthuony, AppleBee, Dendikill, Barrett, JacksonLiu, JnDani, Kinggodz1, Megat Pose, Queen, SG, Septimius Serverus, Hanz, Viper King, Xavier, Harleyl, Zisphree, Mobius, Darman, Freerunner, and Kole, would probably be getting online soon. The rival guild would be doing the same. The first of the other Phantom Emperors to show up was Silver and Esmerelda. Emperator's avatar couldn't smile, since it's an elder lich. He merely waved and made the smile emote using the console.

Me and my wife, in-game her name is Esmeralda, entered the game. Emperator was waiting for everyone. My kids were at school, yeah it's mid day, and they had just gone to school. Split days and year round school is awesome. It made things like this easier though, so it's not all that bad. When Emperator did his usual greeting I broke into a huge grin, sitting to his right, Esmeralda sitting to my right. I started chatting with him, asking how his current assignment was going, he's an admiral now after all. He said it was going well, but it was pretty repetitive, 'you do this, you do that' type things. The others came in quickly after I showed up, all of us hadn't really seem each other in 'person' in a long while. What was supposed to be a sober goodbye to the game we had spent so much of our lives on turned into a huge, exuberant, raucous celebration of our reunion. No one wanted it to end.

"Silver!" I recognized the voice.

"Winup! How's it been?" I asked, going into a private channel so that we could hear each other speak, well.

"Great, actually. The hospital has really started to grow. Both me and Gold don't have to work constantly anymore." Winup smiled.

"That's great." I beamed.

"Yeah, how about you, Silver?" Winup asked, raising his 'eyebrow', extra slime sticking out of his character's head.

"I've been great. My kids are beyond interested in my work. I even have them helping me. Esmeralda thinks it's great, but she thinks I should be teaching them a lot more about workshop safety before they actually help me. I think that they have most of the safety down just from watching me. Sarah, the genius that she is, had already programmed her first game, is basic but it's not buggy. Eric seems to prefer my lifestyle though. I don't really care, just so long as they are happy." I beamed at Winup.

"Anyways, I think I should catch up with Emperator, the loss of this game seems to be hitting him pretty hard." Winup said, a little worried.

"You can't see it because of his avatar, but he really hates the fact that this game is shutting down. All of our work, erased, with just a single click on a computer." I said, a little sadly.

"You staying until it shuts down?" Winup asked.

"Sure am!" I roared.

"Right then, see you during the raid." Winup said, leaving the private chat.

Then I saw Smith, and I waved to him. He seemed to be chatting up Queen, who had confirmed herself to be a girl when asked about it directly. He waved back, not breaking the probable private chat he was in with her. I walked back over to Esmeralda, who was chatting with Gold. Those two were very good friends, they just didn't see each other very often. I hugged Esmeralda from behind, and she cuddled into my avatar's broad, muscular chest. My avatar is on the large side. It's not exactly huge, but it's not small either. Esy likes it, and I'm happy with it. Onto the abilities, it's auto heal is, well, it's second to none. I can basically heal through anything, so long as it's not an instant kill spell. I also have ridiculously high health, that I got from being max level and from several booster items I have equipped. My damage is okay, but the three supporters I have, Esy, Winup, and Gold, are second to none. Once they put their buff spells and potions on me, I am basically unbeatable. I can one shot most tanks, and can take more damage than most tanks. Plus, since my fighting style mostly hinges on punishing any mistakes my opponents make, I usually take out people who ignore me and try to go for my supporters. In pure strength, Scotsman is a stronger fighter than I am, however since my fighting style is tailored to me and my character's stats and armor so well, I am more skilled as a fighter, and when you have more survivability and skill than your opponent, you will win nearly every time. Honestly though, I spent so much time in this game I actually started studying sword styles, such as kendo, fencing, and other such things. Thanks to my character's superhuman speed, that's only enhanced by my high level, I started to make my own sword style, I don't really have a name for it, and it mostly relies on speed, rather than power. One of the main strikes in it has me hit an opponent ten times in less than four seconds. Fast indeed, and thanks to the speed of the attacks, the piercing damage is ridiculous, so it basically ignores armor. Now then, it's almost that time I think.

The proximity alarms went off, cutting off my conversation with Smith. The rival guild was here. Let me just say this, they are not prepared.
