Johnny x Dally
80s-90s it is finally here, because I finally found some inspiration for a good jally fic!!
Dally was gone.
Or so Johnny thought. But, the tough hood had made it pretty clear that he was going and never coming back. He wasn't one to stay in the same place. He could never hang around for too long, and Johnny knew that it was partially emotional trauma to blame.
The two boys had met at a party, and immediately took interest in one another. The night was spent with them dancing, or grinding, against each other and eventually, things got taken to the bedroom.
Johnny was fine having a one night stand with someone like Dallas Winston. He would be fine if they never saw each other again. But, the next day while Johnny was eating lunch alone, Dally happened to show up. He sat at his table and they began talking again, just like the night before.
From then on they were with each other every day. Most nights would lead to lots of kisses and sometimes would escalate further. All of this was nothing out of the ordinary for Dally. He was used to having meaningless relationships.
Johnny, on the other hand, was in love. He loved everything about the older boy, and couldn't hide it. Although he was a bit embarrassed admitting it, he still told Dally every day how much he loved him, wishing for him to say it back.
Dally wasn't surprised that he had made Johnny fall in love with him. In fact, he expected it. Most of his hookups fell in love. That's all Johnny was to him--another hookup. At least that's what Dally told himself.
He typically didn't hang around the others for as long as he had hung around Johnny, and he definitely didn't go on dates with them. If he stuck with someone for more than a week then all they did was have meaningless sex. There was something different about this particular boy that pulled him in, and it was scary.
So he left. He said goodbye to Johnny, and left, leaving the younger boy heartbroken.
Johnny laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling, and replaying the events from just a few nights ago...
"Do you really have to go?" Johnny whimpered lightly, looking Dallas in the eye.
Dally took a puff of his cigarette and nodded. "Gotta go sooner or later. May as well be sooner."
Johnny's lip quivered, and Dally almost felt bad when he saw the desperate look in his eyes.
"Then take me with you. I'll gladly go wherever you go. I don't care...as long as I'm with you." Johnny was being vulnerable; Forgetting to act tough, but none of that mattered anymore. He just didn't want to lose Dallas Winston.
"Don't worry Johnny. I'll be back, I wanna see you again." Dallas swallowed hard and wondered why it was so tough to leave this time.
The younger greaser blinked and shook his head. "You won't be back. You're just a rambling man, and you know...you're never gonna change. You were born for leaving."
With that, Johnny turned and left, having an odd feeling of confidence.
That confidence was short lived, however. Every day he wished that his love was enough. Enough to keep Dallas Winston around. "Why am I even sad?" He mumbled to himself. He knew all about the tough hoods reputation, and yet he still let himself fall in love. He almost believed that Dally loved him back, too...but nothing that good ever happens to Johnny Cade.
-
Dallas Winston ran a hand through his hair as he drove. "I can't believe I'm going back to this one horse town." He grumbled and took the exit to get to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He tried. He really, really tried to stay away. He tried to convince himself that he hadn't fallen in love. He tried to go out and have fun like he did before, but he couldn't.
He hadn't hooked up with anybody since he left Johnny. He had a weird sense of guilt mixed with sickness if he even thought about it, and that when he knew. He knew that he loved John Cade, a hell of a lot more than he wanted to.
Nearly every night he thought of calling Johnny, and regretted the decision of throwing away his number. He had gotten it from him before he left, knowing that he wouldn't call. Dally had only wanted Johnny to feel better.
The second he left he threw the slip of paper out the window, not wanting to get so attached to someone. But the nights he spent staring at the ceiling with an empty feeling in his stomach and Johnny on his mind made him regret it immensely.
So here he was, just two minutes away from Johnny's house, prepared to live out his greatest fear: falling in love.
By the time he pulled into his driveway, he was on the verge of vomiting. "Get a hold of yourself Dallas..." he groaned and got out of the car.
Slowly, he walked up to the door and knocked three times. After hearing a little bit of shuffling, the door opened up, revealing the boy he had come back for.
Johnny gasped lightly. "D-Dally? What are you doing here?"
Dally bit his lip, and considered lying. But he knew that this was something he had to do. "I...I couldn't stand to be without you. Every night when I was laying in bed, you're all I could think about. I just wanted to hold you and kiss you again. I thought you meant nothing, but in reality, you meant everything." He hesitated before saying the last part of his speech, but said it nonetheless. "I love you Johnny. I've fallen hard for you."
Johnny stared in shock. "I...I mean...I love you too, Dal. But what happens when you get bored? Like I said before, you were born for leaving."
"I thought so too, and then I met you. Please, trust me. I would have never come back for just anybody. You're something special Johnnycakes. And I love you." He cupped Johnny's cheek and gave him a sweet kiss, that was unlike anyone they had shared before.
This time, Dally allowed himself to enjoy it. When they broke away, Johnny had to try to keep from grinning to widely. "You really love me Dal?"
And he was answered by a kiss.
